I think it's terrible that you don't care about the best quote from a specific episode! If you can't find one you like, just say so, but to insult the whole process and proclaim your complete lack of caring, really hurts the younger fans of the show. Next time, please think twice before making such a rude comment. Thank you for your cooperation. Frank S.

I know the industry, including the marketing side, and please don't try to convince me that TV is not a propaganda tool. It's a waste of time. As for screen addiction, it is not the same as television programming, including wavelength oscillation vs the blue light screen and it's effects on the optic nerve and nervous system.

I think Joel's entire comedic persona is based off a chill, valium-type of character. Stephen Wright(sp?) is another example of that tilk of comedians. Check out some of Joel's stand-up routine, from SNL and other talk shows. Some people love it, others prefer a, "always in motion" comedian, like Robin Williams. Me, it depends on my mood :) Cheers from Canada

This was edited down from a 26-part serial loosely based on 'Planet of the Apes.' The original title was Saru no Gundan (Army of the Apes). 🎶 Sandy Frank, Sandy Frank, likes to crap in his hand🎶 😂
@AvengerII8 жыл бұрын
+Travis Bohrer Here's the thing, Travis. I know YOU like to crap on Sandy Frank but let's take another tac on this... I seriously doubt many anime fans would be aware of Gatchaman if Sandy Frank Productions hadn't acquired the rights for the show in the mid-1970s and dubbed it. Yes, ridiculous edits and changes were made but that was the nature of TV back then and TV is ridiculous in new ways today. SFP was the only company in the West that picked up the series. It's amazing everybody else overlooked and passed on it but that's what happened. Two dubs later and a faithful dub of Gatchman was finally done around 10 years ago but nonetheless it would not have happened if SFP hadn't optioned the series (and produced Battle of the Planets) in the first place! ********************************** Besides, look at this movie. The original version was ridiculously bad as it is! No amount of faithful dubbing or subtitling (which most moviegoers and watchers HATE) was going to make this a great film! It's cheesy as hell and that's something going by the standards of the time this things was made. (I think it was the early-mid 1970s?) The 1970s WERE tacky and most fantasy/sci-fi of the period was done on low budget as it had been for decades and things like Star Wars and the Star Trek movie revival were still a twinkle in the eye. People love to praise the Japanese for their anime and videogame productions but aside from recent horror films and classic dramas (Kurosawa, Ozu) and samurai movies their live-action film industry is a joke. (To be fair, 90% of anything is crap -- and that's in anybody's country.) The market for this stuff outside of Japan is smaller and it has a hard time competing against the Hollywood product which has greater (eye candy) appeal. They just don't have the budget for the kind of effects, make-up, and level of production standards they do in the States. When their media succeeds outside of Japan, it's because it has POV's that are fresh, good scripts, and ideas that are executed well and not just because it's Japanese.

Fear Monarch This is actually a compilation movie made out a TV series. Admittedly, a very bad one. But part of the reason for this being such a disjointed movie is that Sandy Frank condensed the footage in such a way that entire story arcs simply breeze by before you can make any sense of them. Adding to the picture's problems is that MST3K actually cut the movie down, so it's missing key scenes and makes even less sense than it would otherwise. The full length version of the film isn't really that much better, though.

At least the fashion is good. Late 60s at its best.

"Johnny was bad, even as a child everybody could tell --- And everyone said if you don't get straight you'll surely go to hell --- But Johnny didn't care....." Thank you, Oingo Boingo, for warning us about him all those years ago.

The boy next door you've known for years Has up and made the headlines The front page read he lost his head There'd be nothing like this in a long time No no now child they must be wrong All his neighbours say Johnny was a good boy Did what he should boy Just wouldn't act that way Yes they say he was everybody's friend But now they put him away and say he just may do it again They interviewed the folks he knew For some dumb reason why (Johnny was a good boy) Asked his mom where she went wrong She'll say god knows I've tried (Johnny was a good boy) Good plain boy would just go bad one day He said he couldn't help himself But police suspect foul play . . . etc.

White Castle Building No. 8, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, originally built in 1936 and remodeled (photo in infobox above), is an example of the chain's buildings with prefabricated white porcelain enamel on steel exteriors. The building measured 28 feet (8.5 m) by 28 feet (8.5 m) and was made to resemble the Chicago Water Tower, with octagonal buttresses, crenelated towers, and a parapet wall.[11][12]

19:52 I hope that was improv, because in that moment in didn't feel like a show, but just friends hanging out. I don't know, I just liked this moment. "Where did that come from?? Earlier you said bowling ball.."

I love how the fan letter asked for the segments to go on longer, so what do they do? They have Clayton and Frank argue over who pushes the button for an extra 20 seconds.
