As a former janitor, I always feel a little hurt when we get branded as creepy villains... but as a person named Mike, I am appalled by this movie’s depiction of us as whiny, groveling, bike-stealing leeches.

I hated when Joel left the show, but this was the episode that sold me on Mike as the new host. Nelson was really great and a worthy replacement.

As a general rule, if your parents offer to buy you a house if you hold off your wedding, HOLD OFF YOUR WEDDING AND TAKE THE HOUSE!

Mikey is absolutely in the MST3K Weirdo Hall of Fame. Right up there with Torgo, Buffalo, and Pipper.

This was basically The Mikey Show. He stole every scene, and their jokes were the best when riffing on him.

Mike's words during that street gang skit were powerful and profound. Someone needs to show that segment to the Bloods and the Crips.

Yodeling aside, that little tremolo guitar riff is addictive and creepy!

When Jimmy points his finger towards the distance and says, “I’ll get to you later, Curly” and crow, in a muffled, quiet, distant voice responds, “Okay.” That makes the episode for me.

As a matter of fact, _MST3K_ creator Joel Hodgson went on to make a TV movie about teenagers - namely an infamous one about six friends being sucked into the internet titled _Web Surferz,_ which in turn spawned the Canadian cartoon sitcom _6teen._

The riffing for this one is amazing, and the movie wouldn't be half as funny without little Mikey.

Damn - just like a typical Scooby-Doo episode; it was the school janitor behind everything all along. And he would have gotten away with it too, If it weren't for those meddling kids!

The callbacks to Manos are great

i'm fond of the movie as a movie. They had no budget, but they manage to have a plot, a tiny bit of mystery, escalating tension, people to root for. The leads aren't horrible actors. They got a lot right, and I forgive them the shortcomings that the lack of money cost. Also, they did one heck of a lot with a single song!

lmao i'm fascinated by the parents & the cop's scene around the 30:00 mark, i've never heard dialoge so aggresivly stilted & acting so randomly off the charts It's like Tommy Weisou built a time machine and had his family do this scene, it's so fascinatingly wrong on every leval

It's silly, but my favorite part about this movie is how the creepy guitar riff (e.g., 24:37) is really just "Yikes Stripes" in disguise.

I think it refers to back when long-distance was still relatively expensive and answering machines still sort of new; people who grew up during the Great Depression are known for their frugality and penny-pinching. That's how I took it, but I could be wrong.
