A lost short intended for a Mystery Sciene Theater 3000 CD-ROM project.
The project was cancelled due to setbacks at Voyager (the multimedia company slated to produce the CD-ROM) and the short was never shown on television.

Trivia: Creole Petroleum was owned by Standard Oil of New Jersey (later Exxon) until it was nationalized by Venezuela in 1976.

My favorite moments are when they laugh at each other's jokes, such as "Like Escobar here" and "Autos Usados." They've heard the lines when they were doing their runs through the film but still can't help themselves with the delivery.

Lake Maracaibo. Hope those kids aren't afraid of lightning. Electrical storms sometimes lasting all night with vivid lightning almost constant at times occur at least 1 out of 2 nights for most of the year. It's called catatumbo lightning. It is the most "electrical" place on earth. "Baggo in car-o!" They talk Spanish like I do.

To think, all those baseball fields they built would bring all those MLB players. In 1976 (20 years after Howdy Doody started working there) the Venezuelan government basically said, it’s ours now and took over Creole. Maracaibo still spits out the oil and so much of it has been extracted that Maracaibo is now like a New Orleans and below sea level.

Creole Petroleum Company was formed in 1920 specifically to drain Venezuela of its oil. In 1928, Standard Oil of New Jersey took the company over and Creole was, for a while, the largest oil producer in the world. It went defunct in the mid-70s after Venezuela nationalized its oil production. And the lake was FAR wider than "Jim" suggests.🤣

Two years after this film was made, Nixon's motorcade in Caracas was stoned and there were Anti-American demonstrations. I have a feeling that this pleasant american family had to abruptly leave Venezuela. Well at least they learned Spanish lol.

David Cherson why do you think that happened my friend ? We welcomed you with our hospitality like we did with this family then the American private oil companies drilling on our soil took 90% of all profit and petroleum gallons per barrel for themselves. YET many people were still welcomed and kept going to work to Venezuela until late 90s. (I'm not anti-USA)
