Right? The dialogue is pretentious as hell, but there are a few hidden gems. (I say “hidden” because she speaks so fast you’re liable to miss some things.) “Everything’s so creamy! Kill me quick, I’ve never had it so good!” Wtf? 👀

One thing about Ann-Margret's plan here that kills it is if she screamed r(a)pe, all this guys has to do is go, "Who's the fugitive? Who's the proven Juvey that broke out after damn near killing a woman? Yeah, your hosed, honey." Aside of that, I also spotted the allegory: A stray; goes to a house and gets fed; like any stray being fed to comes back; it blackmails you into taking care of it with it's viciousness but also cuteness; the stray beings over other strays; the friends get violent and start swiping at you; Ann-Margret is literally a stray friggan cat!
@ofthedarknessthemoonlight5412
@ofthedarknessthemoonlight5412 4 ай бұрын
While I totally agree with you about Ann Margret's character being hosed, please don't compare her with a cat. I've had lots of cats through my life, and they were all very affectionate and bonded. And well-behaved. I haven't collected 50, I only have two, and I also like dogs a lot. I'm just tired of people who don't know cats assuming they're all little narcissists, because they're not. You just get what you give with them, because they're not a pack species. They require respect, love, and consideration - which is a thing humans would do well to emulate. I recognize that this sort of metaphor was popular in the 50s and 60s - crazy woman = demanding pet - but that's sort of horrible on both sides... This woman - well, these "teens" - are utterly creepy, and it's always been hard for me to grasp how anyone could find these kinds of people attractive in ANY way for even a moment. I'd rather be shipwrecked than within 25 miles of this kind of crazy. Looks are entertaining for a day or so, but if there's no sane, intelligent personality backing them up, it all just gets boring or annoying really fast. I dunno if I could even watch this if it weren't filtered through MST3K! I know it sounds like I'm missing the whole humor point, but I'm really not. I'm just tired of the cat thing, and I've seen crazy manipulative bitches do real harm, so this movie makes me anxious too. Never could've been made as anything but a horror film after the Manson family started dropping by... Though I'll give the filmmakers credit - they do seem to be playing it as a horror film. (And I don't think I've EVER used the phrase "I'll give the filmmakers credit," regarding something screened on the Satellite of Love!)

I agree and I have to wonder what makes this easy to watch in spite of not really being that good. I think it comes off like a play because it's a low budget character heavy movie and the characters all look like a lot of fun to play and they are unpredictable. I'd say the performances are actually pretty good too, but the roles definitely weren't very complicated. Something about it keeps me somewhat engaged and wondering what's going to happen next. It's not exactly the most exciting, but it keeps your curiosity going enough with outrageous characters and it's pretty easy to follow along with if you do stop paying attention for a minute.

It is the shimmering effect that can happen on buildings, neckties, pinstripe/houndstooth jackets, etc. You can actually see examples of it on the grille of the car at @10:49 and on John Forsythe's robe starting at @14:04.

Uisce Preston please - don't be the same person who puts under the 'trivia' listings (in almosr EVERY single TV series' episode -WHAT the 'meaning' of each episode's title come from. If you're not the same person, humble appologies, but, if you are, it's NOT 'trivia'' ('information of little value...commonly unknown') - Most (not all) people know what a moire pattern ('moire' is NOT capitalised). If your know anything about HOW the episode of MST3K were written, they (the stage writers - appx 10 people) would watch the film together on a room, each one tossing of comments. The point being (and they even said this in a 'making of' film about the show) that they each had different senses of humoir, and different interests, so they'd end up with a script which touched on a multitude of different types of humour - something which would appeal to a broad spectrum. 'Explaining ' a (single) reference of any episode is ultimately pointless. Either one gets a reference or doesn't. That's fine.

@@dustincantrell6712 Did David, beyond his demeanor, come off as the kind of senator whom plays with a full deck in this movie? A teenager girl, already a known hard case and on the run from the juvie center she escaped, was able to bully his square behind throughout the whole movie because of the lengths he would go to keep her from becoming a thing his political career would have to deal with. He doesn't strike me as a man who has any idea what to do the second things get outside an episode of Ozzie and Harriet, which is something fundamental to expect when entering American politics.

Mr Critical The "lawful" politician? Depending on the local news bias, they might be looking for any dirt on him. Not to mention he admitted the marriage was not going well. Not to mention that gynocentric ideas have permeated our society since the 1800s. Aka, we are quicker to judge a man than a woman. Even though just like the OP, being annoyed with him, what would we do in his shoes? Especially today, I would place more money on getting away with killing her and getting rid of the evidence, than believe in the good will of the gynocentric courts judging me fairly.
