I got to have Matthew along with me today! Super grateful that he joined in the adventure. My first time seeing this trail without snow! And it was the fourth time lol. Beautiful fall colors emerging, Hut closed for the season. Lots of people on the trails on a Saturday, perfect weather, slight haze from wildfire smoke. Mt Monroe - 5,372 ft at the Summit, with views of towering neighbor Washington and surrounding presidentials.

I like Monroe a lot. I dare say I prefer it to Washington. It's nice to stay at the hut and have the short climb to Monroe although that hut can be a zoo.

It is a nice little hike! I like Washington but I prefer it in winter so the crowds aren’t around.
