MTailor started off with custom shirts, and have since branched off into suits, blazers, chinos, shorts, t-shirts and finally jeans, which is what this review is all about.
For a little background, I reviewed their custom shirts a little while ago and so I have some experience with them already, but I never tried MTailor jeans until now.

Great review and your level of detail and explanation is thorough! You hit on a few good points that matched the experience that I had with the shirt that I ordered. The effort to download the app, create the video measurements (what DO they do with those video's?) and then to receive a substandard ill fitting product is disappointing. I'm not a difficult fit - 185 lbs, 6'-0" tall / average build. You had more patience than I did and you sent back detailed measurements. In truth, I chalked this up to a scam experience and ended up giving the shirt to one of the needy hanging out at the 125th street Harlem train station. In my opinion, I believe that with the time, effort and the cost of the MTailor product and experience, it might be more cost effective to go to a real (human) tailor and have a custom garment made and avoid this gimmick.

I'm not sure. It seems to be hit or miss. I've tried it several times now and they got it wrong twice. Communication is good and they typically work with you till you get the fit right, but like you said, it comes with a price and that is time and effort. With the app and algorithm, it's supposed to make things easier and streamlined, which is is pretty simple. However, to receive a substandard result when they guarantee 20% more accurate than a professional tailor, it's a little less than satisfying. I think it's worth a shot for guys new to MTM though, because it's such a simple process. Over the years, I've heard the good and bad of it.

Solid review - I've been wanting to try MTailor's jeans for a while - after hearing how the algorithm screwed your pants up, I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle. I have ordered several shirts from them which I liked. But similar to what happened to you, it took 38 days to get them.

Yeah, i completely understand. I'm used to the MTM merry-go-round and so it's pretty normal to me, but for guys who aren't as versed with going custom might get a really bad taste in their mouth with such a bad result. That being said, they're very communicative and will work with you until the fit is right. I have no idea what's up with that wait time either. I'll have to get in touch with them to find out. 2 weeks should mean 2 weeks. Not double!

The 2nd try looked so good. The 1st pair looked perfect for my tree trunk thighs lol 😂. What does this say about the fit algorithm/ body scan? That's a long wait time but sounds like customer service is on point.

I was appalled by the first round, but equally surprised by the end result. Goes to show that a little communication and being vocal about your wants and needs can really make a big difference. As for the algorithm, this is the second time I've had to go round 2 with them sensing a trend...

I’m looking for jeans that don’t hurt my fuckin nuts. Duluth trading company definitely was a step up but not quite perfect. Any suggestions with that

haha, i hear you. So you're looking for a more relaxed or athletic fit then. Because skinnies and oftentimes slims will squeeze them boys...Check Gap, American Eagle, Banana Republic, Everlane, or Express.

I get tailor made jeans. I go to Glasgow and I pay about £400 to £500 depending on how I want them. I don’t know how long they last because I’ve only been getting them for 10 years and the first pair I bought still look like they’re barely a year old. I get measured personally for my jeans and they fit perfect and have enough bollock room because there’s nothing worse than having your bollocks squashed.

It took them three tries to get the right fit with my jeans, but their customer support was friendly and easy to work with. I got the dark blue color, and either the dye they use or the fabric itself has a very strong chemical/warehouse smell that I cannot wash out. I've written to customer support again for their advice. Hoping they can help, because the smell is so strong, I won't be able to stand wearing them. (Note: the smell was present with all three pairs of jeans they shipped to me.)

Sometimes it'll take several tries, and so that's not really a surprise to me. Glad to hear their customer support was helpful and easy to work with. I've heard some horror stories from several brands (shall remain nameless). As for that chemical smell I'm not sure if I noticed that with my pair. If it was overbearing, I surely would have remembered it. Let me know when they get back to you what they say about that smell.

Just buy Levis, they make all types of jeans for all sizes and fits. If you can't find a perfect Levis style, you're not looking hard enough.

nothing i was able to find on their site, just a single pair of 541s w/28 inseam, but for big & tall? go figure

i gave them select measurements just to make sure. never hurts to provide additional information regardless of how accurate they say their algorithm is...

You buy shirts from them, so I'm really surprised they didn't cross reference your shirt waist size to your first jeans. It sounds like a human doesn't check until you speak up.

I got just Mtailor jeans yesterday. They sucked. The material is not a little thin. It’s junk thin. I started to poke the seam with my finger and could feel the seam coming apart. For the price I was super disappointed. Glad you like yours, but these are not jeans in the sense of a durable pants. They should be called “jean like pants.” I have dress paint that would hold up better than these. I doubt they would hold up doing moderately heavy yard work never mind anyone who needs heavyweight paints for work. My wife even said that she has had leggings made better. They didn’t fit right either. I suppose if I liked the quality I would work with trying to get them to fit. They are going right back. Sorry to disagree with you on your video. Delete this if you want, not trying to be a troll, just honest. ✌️

That's fine. They're serviceable jeans. I think their selling point is that they're custom, not the quality or thickness of them. If you're looking for that, look elsewhere. This is for guys who want a MTM experience because they find it difficult to find a proper fit OTR. Disagree all you want. No one experience is going to be the same. Everyone has different expectations. And no company will ever satisfy every person that buys their product.
