Bill, its a good thing you had your magnetic strip or someone might think you have a screw loose! Lol. 😂😮 The fiddle fairies made a nice video possible for you again. 👍🔧😉

Most of my loose screws aren't magnetic 🤣 When it started up and revved way up I thought "hmmm... no throttle control, that's a new one".

I guess I just missed you on the last one. 🤣 I did the video back in February. I have heard from the guy who got it, he loves it.

I once was given a pressure washer because it did not work. The only thing wrong with it was a bolt that holding the air box on got sucked into carb. Thus not letting it set the choke Good fix there

When I am working on them, I try to imagine how they ended up in front of me. On that one, imagine a scene where he took the air filter off and then went to the store for starter fluid, then when it started he couldn't find the bolt... but it was running. Lol

You were right in that that one was worth waiting on. VERY interesting. I have 2 of those 5-horse motors on the shelf. Both run and one has a gear recducer for a walk behind plow. Had one on a wood splitter I had to work on it every time the co-owner wanted to use it so it went home and I got a new one and now it's gone because I'm out of the wood business. The batterybmower is doing a fine job keeping the grass shortened and I'm VERY happy but the gas jobs are still hare. Happy weekend and stay cool!

Never lend out tools you like. I am sure the battery mowers will get there but I am waiting for one more step up in battery life.

@@GuysPlayingWithTools We were just too geezerish not to and I can turn the humm on and do it with80% battery left with a light cut side discharge and mulching blade. Got down to 60% on a heavy cut. Just riding and guiding but the 2 gas jobs are just waiting.

@lewiemcneely9143 sooner or later, someone is going to produce a really cool battery rider. Without the gas motor and belts, the configuration can change. I want better bagging, higher speeds, and lower profile. Not much, just... everything.

@@GuysPlayingWithTools Nothing wrong with wanting everything, just getting it is the crimp. I'm satisfied with ours and maybe there'll be upgrades but it does a good job. SMOOTH but it's a floating deck, 42 inch. I go with the economy setting for the blades and lo speed which is 4 m.p.h max and 8 in hi. I never get all the way lo but move along smartly as the guy said. It takes about an hour and it's all on a slope. Can't get any schematics about it but that's MTD that made it is supposedly going to 'talk you through' problems. I don't even know where the battery is but that there's one and 56 volt, 3000 amp hours. So far, so good. Has 2 curvy composter blades. Will just grind everything up and vanish. Suits me with the zero turn but it's quick but hydraulic can be smoother but ours is paid for. That's the main thing.

@lewiemcneely9143 I keep thinking...I have a press, a pipe bender and a welder. I just need a couple golf cart motors, a deck and a few hours and I can make one that will do what I want. I might make that my next winter project

I have one of those coming up in a couple weeks. The prettiest McLane I have ever seen, it's basically new. It's a"carb over" that isn't pumping, fuel, a new diaphragm does wonders

Lost parts are a agrovating thing that tiller is made for tilliing soil that has already been tilted by a rear tine tiller unless the soil is the very soft type of Soil the throttle butterfly is a very important part to control the engine speed that engine has either a mechanical or air vane govener style Glad you found it was missing the parts Bill 💸💵

So how does the throttle linkage work? I need to know how to make it operate.

I have been trying to come up with a good description that didn't have a picture(can't put a pic in a comment). I will try to describe it as well as I can. The governor controls the speed of the engine by way of linkage that is specific to the model of the motor. The black plastic part at the 6:50 part on the new carb attaches to the governor arm on this one The linkage pulls an arm that is attached to the governor arm by a spring and adds tension to it. The governor arms typically have 2 springs when there is an external throttle, one that returns it to idle and another that is attached to the throttle linkage. Without pics it's a lot harder to describe than I thought it would be, let me know if this helps
