I'm not sure how this is "for beginners" you assumed your listeners knew alot and didnt explain anything other than the game engine use of the mode.

I'm at 11 minutes in... and now you are fast-forwading through your picks, not explaining anything, not explaining how you are building your deck, what you are looking for, what you are picking. How is this a beginners guide? I have no idea what's going on. Rampy style deck? What's a ramp deck? This is not a beginner video.

there are defiantly somethings I didn't explain well and some of the editing didn't help because there are things like the picking process that some decisions need explanation. This is definitely a video I want to recreate with a bit more structure so things like this don't happen again.

It has been super frustrating as a new player I have not seen a single video describing the menu system.I do not have that same menu and more importantly I have no mention of drafts so how does one actually enter a draft? Under the HOME icon have literally nothing like only the quest and current event shows nothing else.

all basics are avaible to you to use. any set specific lands are only draftable.

I know everyone else here is complaining about the actually presentation but I have a different complaint. Your audio volume is so low. I know this is an old video so I dk if you'll see this but it's my 5th or 6th video of yours ive seen, they're all the same. And it's both my phone and pc , I can jam to music on KZfaq, on my pc volume set to 20-25 but I gotta crack you to 60 to understand you.

Yeah I think from messing around with settings it might be something wrong with the mic itself or the cable its connected to so i may be working on upgrading them in the near future to hopefully fix the problem.

I see that the win scale at the bottom continues offscreen. Are there better rewards for doing even better? Or does the deck just get retired afterward?

It goes up to 7 wins for max rewards before you get 3 losses. Once you hit either your draft with that deck is over.

@@TheSkarTV yeah. It was nice to have an explanation of each drafting option. What would be better is a guild in 'finding your colours'. Like if you dont come across a bomb or a clear uncommon in the first 5 picks though. Drafting bots feels challenging. Yes I know there are cheating apps but I'm not feeling that.

dragade101 definitely understand. I think playing limited like drafts helps with deck building and card choice in a limited set of cards. It does suck that people bot or there’s bots who ruin the experience for other players.

@@TheSkarTV Sorry I was talking about the assistant apps that kind of tell exactly which to cards to select. I'd rather build that skill than having aggregate data tell me what is meta. Like the idea of Quick Draft is fun. You have time to examine your current deck vs your current pick but bot signals are way off I feel. If I had 90 seconds against humans to pick; I would draft that way (assuming the chance / rewards of winning was the same or better). My struggle is really the first 5 to 10 picks when no cards are screaming to me.

Is it a good idea to do at least a two color draft? Seems like if you did a single color, if other players chose that color as well, you might not have enough carts to really effectively build a 40 car deck. So if you choose at least two colors or a multi color deck do you have a few options when selecting cards. I have yet to play A draft game and I’m trying to understand how the card selection works. Thanks

Yeah I mean you could probably draft multiple colors if that’s what being passed around. Just keep on the look out for cards to help fix your mana. In the example in the video sometimes a particular color is just open.

@@TheSkarTV Yeah I kind of forgot the deck is only 40 cards so you only play with roughly 23 None mana cards correct? So that leaves roughly 20 cards you won’t necessarily need to form a deck

Another question is how often do you just pick the rare or uncommon card even if it won’t Necessarily help your deck your building for the draft but is beneficial to your collection? (I assume this is individual preference but curious to hear your thoughts)

@@sazger somewhere around that depending how your overall curve goes. propbably want like 15 creatures and about 8 spellls with 17 mana for a perfect 40 card deck

you can play them as you have time and as a newer player quick draft is the best in the sense theres no pick timer so you can read the cards to figure out what they do.

So essentially the only way to progress the Limited rank is to spend gems? There's no way to try it if I have a free-only account? It's about 10$, that seems really steep just for an attempt.

So the draft modes can be paid with gold its 5000 for the quick draft and 10000 for the premier one. Depending if you spent any gold since you started playing you roughly have about 4000 or so right after the tutorial, which is almost enough for 1 quick draft. The better you get at draft the more wins you end up with and the better the payout in the end to the point of where your draft pays for the next one over and over and you build your collection that way.

Anthony Capo I think I ended up getting 4-5 wins. I remember getting 1600 gems so which ever one that is.

I know this is a few months old now. But i just started playing this game about a week ago. Not new to online CCG's though. I had a question since i'm a tad confused. I got the confidence today to try my first draft. I picked the quick draft because it told me that I was going to be doing bot AI matches. But from what i saw i wound up battling against real people and i'm not sure why this happened. The only conclusion i had is that perhaps the devs programmed their AI to try and mimic human behaviors. But i question that simply because the normal bot matches the AI is trash. Usually if you click to say things like good game or nice or something like that the AI responds 100% of the time or not at all. But in all 3 of my matches i only got responded to by the first player. And i'm almost 100% certain that cards only highlight from real players. I couldnt imagine them making their AI so smart it hovers over cards on the board in order to highlight them. So either im really stupid and their AI in draft does stuff i've never seen in any other online CCG which in that case, i would be very impressed. Or somehow i got matched vs real people even though i did quick draft. Like i said im pretty much brand spanking new to MTGA. So it could be just me being dumb and uninformed lol. I'm just really confused as to what happened to me in that draft lol.

PussNuggets so all matches in all events are against real people. The quick draft I think that’s what arena calls it is that you draft cards against the ai. The matches tho are against real players

Are all cards offered the same for each player? Or is everyone getting different choices of cards?

every draft will give you a different assortment of cards that you open in the packs.

Why do you draft a number of cards greater than the number of cards required and then have to dispense with some? I tried the quick draft for the first time today and that’s how it happened with me.

Like deck building in general you work from a pool of cards. In draft with the pool of cards being more limited you are trying build a collection of cards drafted to build the best deck possible. Sometimes you get extra cards of the color you aren’t building around or just cards that aren’t as good.

as others pointed out, this is not really helping. a beginner wnats to know a few tips on HOW TO ACTUALLY DRAFT. like what are some basics in decisionmaking, what not to do etc. not what draft is or whatever this guide wastes too much time on what everyone could google and spends too little time actually drafting and having tips for it.
