I disagree on Not of This World. It's a decent card in a near Eldrazi tribal colorless deck. You have tons of targets, plus being an Eldrazi spell, it can be hard cast for less with things like Eye of Ugin and Eldrazi Temple. Heck, it even reduces the cost of casting Emrakul the Promised End by 2 if it's in your graveyard. I run it and Warping Wail and I run Kozilek the Great Distortion as my commander. Can never have enough colorless countering options.

For Pyroblast and Red Elemental Blast, I'd recommend running Painter's Servant.... just in case. If no one's playing blue... they are now. And red is great at getting back artifacts.

Thanks for going back and including Warping Wail! It's not the best card but it's always a fun surprise when it stops a big Torment of Hailfire.

You can also play only with redirecting spells or copy target spell cards.

Two I was wondering if you would mention that I would put in the staple category (or maybe just playable, not sure), are Lifeforce and Deathgrip. Lifeforce is two green for an enchantment that lets you pay two green to counter a black spell. Deathgrip is two black for an enchantment that lets you pay two black to counter a green spell. They are color specific, but you basically get a repeatable counterspell for one card. I run Lifeforce in my Sithis, Harvest's hand oops all enchantments deck.

You missed Dash Hopes, which is double black to counter target spell unless any player pays 5 life (which is worse in commander but interesting for politics)

I would argue that Reprieve should be higher. It gets around 'uncounterable', costs 1 less than Lapse of Certainty (It is significantly easier to hold open 2 mana instead of 3), bouncing it back to hand will usually still buy you another turn anyway, AND it cantrips.

Reprieve is leagues better than remand, they might be similiar but reprieve can bounce uncounterable spells, it's definitely playable and could save you from a supreme edict or any other uncounterable threat

Mages contest?

I use not of this world in my Umbris, Fear Manifest deck because it counters any removal once its a threat. Not necessarily strong but I enjoy having it in the deck because its cool.

The funniest counterspell is obviously, Glorious End.

I really wish all Mana Tithe-like effects were given to white. Blue gets the hard counters, white gets the tax effects. Would massively balance the colors.

Also forgot Deathgrip. Black enchantment for BB. BB: Counter target green spell. It's...very niche, but it's okay I guess.

This is missing Illumination, WW counter artifact or enchantment and they gain life equal to the CMC and it gets exiled. It's a decent option in my Nelly Borca boros control deck that stops plenty of combos and One Rings, Rhystic Studdies, etc.

no-one in the comments playing [[Artifact Blast]]? it might be the best one on here since it counters the best card in the format: [[Sol Ring]] lol also I think you forgot about [[Dash Hopes]] which just straight up reads "Counter target spell" but only unless any player pays 5 life. Might be interesting in a black based burn deck or something

You're way off on Not of This World. Free counter spell to protect an Eldrazi creature is great. Especially since only one of them can be your commander and "getting the cast trigger again" isn't great if you're swinging with it for the win or about to go to combat and want annihilator triggers you wouldn't otherwise get.
