MTH Premier R32 D Train Subway Set

The video you're about to watch showcases the use of productsand tools that are intented for use by people 14 years of age or older. The manufactures of the products have specific age ranges for the items they produce. This is due to them having small parts (a choking hazard) and the use of lubricates such grease and oil which could be dangerous if used inncorrectly

Here's my review on my newly purchased R32 D train subway. Thanks DJ for selling it to me!

Hi Matt and Happy New Year! Very nice set. I too have an R32 along with several more models I continue to add whenever possible? The lamps you were asking about in your video are or were called marker lamps. I am retired from the MTA for some time as a former Motorman/ Train Operator. They were really useful only to the Tower Operators with the correct color combinations for each designated subway line. Yours show a white over the cab and a green opposite. The Motorman had to set the proper color scheme before leaving the terminal. These were done manually with a push up and rotating action. There were 4 sides to the lens or roundel housing being red, yellow and green with nothing on the fourth side to display white. The local or express lamps along with the two markers and the line letter signs worked directly off the 600VDC third rail (5 lamps in total). The destination sign had two lamps that worked off the battery circuits 38 volts) when the Motorman placed the reverser key into the train controller. When we reached the Northern terminal, we had to change the markers to red on both sides. Hope this info helps and best of luck with the subway gear!

Great review and the set looks awesome Matt, I really love Subway sets. I'm surprised those don't have passengers pre-installed, I thought most Premier did, but perhaps Subway sets were the exception to the rule. Looking forward to your LED conversion video.

Thanks Matt! Most of them do however this set did not. I just finished converting the second of the three non powered cars to LEDs. One more left!

I have a question did the TA logo shown here 6:44 came with the train or not because my Oscale R32 CC 8th Avenue local train doesn't have those and I wanted to know if you bought those or it came with it or is there a way to get them

This set didn't come with the from the factory. The previous owner put them on. Island model works makes them for sale.

@@Railsmoke03 I like it with the graffiti. I kinda wish they put a little on the shells not just the doors. I also wish that they didn't lose the license over this, they're replicating a time in subway history. Oh well.
