I don't regret buying this chainsaw to be honest I think it'll go well.

On arrival, the assembly was easy. Well for one thing. It came with a spare sprocket (thanks to you now know it name’ and has us scratching our head where it went. Once you turned the chain saw over and said how it has a removable sprocket it clicked what it was for. Checked saw and saw that there was one in place so that was a spare. So happy! Now to use it.

I bought this saw and took it for a run today on red gum and a little grey box, the sliced through the like hot knife in butter I was very impressed with power and chain, I do have some reservations, it's not very well balanced with the 22" bar, mine always wants to tip forward with chain resting in the dirt, obviously the bar length and weight outdoes the motor and housing weight, it's not the worst problem to have but a 20" might be the sweet spot for balance, the motor powers the 22" bar chain no sweat. I do have a rather annoying issues with mine out of the box, it has a bad fuel leak somewhere inside the plastics, I lost half a tank of fuel with it just dripping out every 5 seconds, and a nice big puddle underneath it when I fuel it up the first time and I didn't spill any. Currently working with the supplier to help identify why it's leaking so much. I'm leaning towards a loose fuel line or faulty fuel tank, have not pulled it apart at this point as I don't want void warrenty. Have you tubers had this issue at all?
@gavmansworkshop56246 жыл бұрын
Nah mate nothing like that has happened. I'd say fuel line because these ebay saws always use the cheap lines and for the cost I'd rather just take the plastics off, locate the line that's bad and take it into a mower shop and grab higher quality stuff and replace the lot but let's see how that process goes with the sellers. Now, the bar I'd slap on is either a 16" or an 18" on and save the big bar for the big jobs. Go to a husqvarna shop for the bar and chain as it's a husqvarna fit. I've got the massive SX82 and it has a 20" bar on it but the 24" is sharpened and dressed up and hanging up. Would be good if they even gave you a partial refund and then I'd say bugger the warranty, it was cheap and I can easily work on this thing but mine's only ever been apart once and that was all plastics off and in the parts cleaner after a big job wasn't in there to repair anything. Just remember to run a bit rich it should "four stroke" a bit while in use the first few tanks I'd say use the first can like that then tweak it afterwards. Thanks for watching and hopefully it all goes well don't hesitate to ask if in doubt.

I am pretty certain these are based on the larger Japanese Zenoah saws, the models they used to make before Husqvarna bought them out, so it should be a really decent saw.

Yea it hauls ass and hopefully this weekend you'll get to see it in action as I've got a few jobs to do.

Went to cut some wood this weekend and there's no wood. Job's already done so that's ruined my plans for a video. I'll do one just have to wait longer folks.

Looks like the same air filter as the stihl 066 or 046 which is pretty handy. Looks as if the MTM saw line is exclusive to you Aussies as I can't seem to source it here in the states. My searches on ebay and elsewhere will only bring up different saws like homdox .Interesting they won't show you the shitty air filters on most of the Chinese saws.

Oh ok that's very odd, I thought America was a free country and something like that wouldn't happen.

If you search Alibaba and learn how certain saws come to be,you'll find out that most likely Edisons ordered a large shipment of these and did some customization s to the design.If you deal directly with the manufacture in China and order say 10,000 units, you can pick colors and have custom decals made to call the saw whatever you'd like it to be. I was hoping it was a saw that could be sourced worldwide but it's all for you guys right now.

Is it possible you might look over the paper work or the packaging and see if the manufacture's name is present anywhere?

I'll try to see what I can find.

The weather is getting cooler, firewood time, how is this saw holding up? I mostly gather yellow box and red gum but my trusty Supercheap Auto 45cc Rockwell saw didn't like the yellow box, and the two bolts and nut that hold the bar on threaded or stripped really easy, my saw looks like every other chinese saw I come across - do the MTM and Baumr Ag have the similar issues with the bar bolts being weak thread?
@gavmansworkshop56246 жыл бұрын
Nah mate this thing in my opinion is great. I still want to do a video it's just no wood to cut at the moment. Those cheapie things from the shop barely give you a few bucks worth where online there seems to be a bit more bang for your buck. I'd recommend at least the sx82 or 92 (the later models) if you're hooking right into the big stuff but if you had this saw you'd still be happy with it's ability to tear through the hardwood.

What aftermarket bar did you settle on? I got this saw and thought of downsizing to an 18 inch bar for the better balance and power. I don't know what brand will fit and have the oiler hole align.
@gavmansworkshop56246 жыл бұрын
Yea G'day mate haven't changed it as of yet but it's the same as what my baus took, can't think of the exact bar but it's in my baus videos it's a husqvarna fit.

Thoughts on this vs the baumr 82?
@gavmansworkshop56246 жыл бұрын
My SX82 hauls ass and flogs this saw but this saw still goes hard in everything I've put it to, just the 82 has a different set up mimicking a huskie and has serious performance.
@gavmansworkshop56246 жыл бұрын
In saying that this also clones some of the smaller husky saws just not a direct copy hence why the bars and chains etc are husky fitments.

Online instructions? Has it arrived or just bought today?
@lmaoyourface086 жыл бұрын
Arrived today, just assembled, when you hold your handle and push down on top of the air filter casing does it move around abit for you? I think that may be the anti vibration stuff.
