If a legend has endured for thousands of years, it is for some reason. Human have not reached the mental maturity to comprehend the Rama r concept in all its whole glory. Why Rama did this or did that, why he abandoned Sita , cannot be judged today as per our present Constitution or Democracy. Rama s action must be judged based on the society and legal framework that existed then in those days. But Rama was a good king , that is what historians have recorded and common men elevated him to a God status because they felt their king was good. Let us not go into his personal affairs. He did what was supposed to be done by a king as per the law of the land. Every king , whether it is the cholas or mauryas are given a special status in the religious activities. Even this happens in foreign countries. Let us be broadminded to allow Modi enjoy this special status as the political leader more so because he is chosen by the people of India. I think it is the public, media, social media , debaters who are politicising this issue. Let us assume that an inauguration of a temple is taking place and the ribbon cutting is done by the PM. That's all. Let us leave it to God , to decide if He wants to dwell in that temple and bless. His devotees. If God decides not to do it , let us take this temple as a simple building where public can go , meditate or just enjoy themselves. God if He wishes can dwell in a piece of grass or in a pillar or in a stone. Just leave Gods alone
