Definitely no,muaithai style is only for muaithai sport, if u put them inside the cage without any knowledge on the ground they will definitely lose, just like a boxer who's focusing on punching power, mma fighters has so many techniques inside the cage. A good bjj fighters can easely submit or break an muaithai fighters bones. MMA fighters also know how to strike, and some of them are bless with powers without focusing on striking, so the answer is absolutely NO.

It’s a great base for striking(obviously in mma some form of grappling is needed to even out your game and make you an actual threat) but it’s not the only one. Sanda, contact karate, lethwei, savate, and Dutch kickboxing are all good foundations for a mma style, just add some grappling like catch, bjj, etc and a lot of practice

All fights start with stand up. With that said, if it goes to the ground it's jiu jitsu.

Yes but if you don’t train BJJ/Wrestling or Judo you will be very easy to take down.
