Hello there Ron I love the boat! I am considering doing a very similar build on a Starcraft holiday 22ft. As most of the internet seems to think these hulls can't handle this type of abuse, what has your experience been with the hull and its ability to handle the abuse? You definitely are more of an expert on this topic than most! I saw you did a lot of reinforcement, but the original bottom skin seems to be fairly original. I've read the bottom hull seems to be somewhere in the 0.100" thickness range, so I was considering adding doubling plates along the bottom of mine as well. Do you think this is necessary based on your experience? Do you think you will be skinning the bottom in UHMW or some other plastic sheet? If you do please post a video on it.

Yes as of right now most of the bottom is mostly original and it's taken a considerable amount of abuse. That being said, the boat 100% needs a thicker hull for what I'm doing. My plan is to get my old fiberglass boat running again reliably, then the StarCraft can go under the knife and get a new bottom. It's gonna involve removing the engine, pump, floor, and windshield so I can flip it over. Uhmw is really better for boats running in gravel so the aluminum isn't slowly machined away over time. The rivers here are mostly mud bottom but littered with logs and stumps, so I really just need thicker aluminum to withstand the occasional impact. I'll be posting when I tear back into it👍 I'm gonna be adding a pump guard/swim deck and a stomp grate as well
