Disney/Hollywood just dry-milking past blockbuster movies....nobody asked for this shitty prequel to be made. ... First, they shitted all over Mufasa's true story and lineage and then after watching the trailer....I still do not see SCAR (Mufasa's greatest rival and threat...) ANYWHERE...The director, the screenwriter and the production companies can seriously go "F" themselves ...This shit is going to flop badly and then they will blame either the audience for being not "opened" enough and/or they will blame the other movies that will have better reviews...

Canonically, Mufasa’s parents are never mentioned in the official Lion King universe so it can’t be said that he “comes from a lineage of kings”. Although he has predecessors doesn’t necessarily mean they are of his bloodline since male Lions are usually kicked out of their pride after a few years anyway to go take over another pride which in theory could be how they’re going about this. They’re lions not human royals. Scar being the only other adult male Lion would obviously become the “king” of the pride if Mufasa were not around and there is no one to challenge him for the throne…

@devmastere It is more expressive than the life action for sure. It is not as expressive and emotional as the 2D version. Disney should try to get out of just the 3D. They have the money and time for it.

@devmastere in general? Nothing. But Disney has completely forget about it. I am an animation and art student, and what they are doing in general in a sacrilege against art. They could do better, but they just...dont. They do not wanna do a 2d project cuz it is more expensive, while they aways doble the money. They are mistreating the animators and artist, and prioritizing projects that try to seek for the nostagia fact, what's worst cuz it actually do, can be a double sided weapon. Pleople did not ask for this. They are not listening to fans (what a surprise). This movie surely looks better than the life action so far; but it should have been 2d, and not 3d.

This is so true, they have gotten too lazy with CGI in general, a return to the true old school animation would bring back many.

@devmastere once the models are done, the rest of the work is easy. Animators usually use movements receptors to make it quickly. At the same time, most 3d program have free textures to use. There are also millions of free 3d models on the internet. And animate on 3d is not that hard as animating 2d. In 2D you have to draw every single part unles you mix it with 3D. You can take 5 hours to just animate completely animate in 2D a few secons. In those 5hours, you'll have some minutes or a 3D one. That's why most companies only use 3D now: Cheaper, quicker and bring the same amoung of money.

@devmastere also, for the tutorials: You need a tutorial for every new program you install. I do not understand that logic of yours.

If the animals talk and sing, and it’s ok to portray their habitat as something it’s not in real life, why not make Mufasa have wings? Or make their environment filled with a rainforest?
