All you need to do is go to your local junkyard, get some heads off another 3.8 mustang and take them to your machine shop for port and polishing. Then go to jegs and order a full cam kit. That's the biggest flaw with the V6 new edge mustang. Ford intentional made the V6 weak in order to make the V8 appear better. People are always going to hate no mater how big your engine is. Get the GT and people will say it's not a Mach 1, get the Mach 1 and people will say it's not a Cobra. Get the Cobra and people will say it's too old.

@@indigosumo1994 Cam would give it some extra hp due to better breathing. You can order a polished and ported heads, intake and new cam kit for I think $3000 from super six motorsports and add 80 hp from that. That right there puts it in equal territory to the 4.6Ls of the same year. You can add other stuff like gears, a tune, lightweight flywheel, underdrive pulleys, 1.7 roller rockers and 65 mm throttle body for extra power and response. On top of all that you can turbocharge it on the cheap if you know what you are doing. If you start with a good solid stock 3.8 you can get a good reliable 450 hp out of it all day long, which coupled with a 5 spd and the lighter weight of the SN95/New Edge makes it a total Coyote killer.

People like to rag on v6 mustangs but honestly for the the price you can get a v6 new edge you get a good looking reliable car , I picked that as my daily and I’ve been happy with it , currently building a a turbo integra 🥰

I didn't knew much about cars and I bought mine as my first car, with a dead cylinder 6, so, its been running on 5 cylinder for more than one year and it has 175,000 miles 🤣, It had a tough life, but I love it and I'm planning to change the engine soon 🙃❤

I have the same car. Just drive it. Its not a race car. But you didnt delete anything you just took off your muffler. You can straight pipe. But why just buy a magnaflow muffler and clamp it in? The car will run smoother.

You have a real good looking car, and the V6 has so much untouched potential for very high performance. Like P5280 mentioned, on doing the heads and a cam kit, those basic mods would Wake It Up! Good luck in modding your car!!

Yo if you want to do a full true dual there's a few way you can jegs has a down tube with a H pipe, or can go long tubes, also your gonna want to get shorty headers if you haven't already one side on the stockers will flange will fail and break, also doing an windstar/f150 intake swap is a viable thing as well. A V6 is my daily. If you have and auto you can get a ratchet shifter or a winters sidewinder for the 4r70w transmission. Either way if you wanna take it there the v6 Essex has potential

I also find it really hard for cameras to pick up the sound of the modified V6 newedges. Had 2 of these now and same deal with both lol

Stock cats + x pipe + muffler delete is the best exhaust for the 99-04 v6!! Look at my vids on insta @Silverstangg so you can get an idea!

Id recommend getting the muffler getting cut off and have a exhaust pipe welded on. It will hold better.

You know your supposed to actually fully disconnect it and take it completely off for it to be considered a muffler delete that’s the whole point of a muffler delete 😂

Lol yes sir, I just did it this way because I was curious on how it would sound. That’s why I titled the video “Muffler delete” because of it not being a legitimate delete. Thanks though 💯

That’s one way to get unnecessary codes showing up, just get an after market full exhaust set up then get a tune. Other than that if you were to just run no cats on it and straight pipe it then you’ll get some codes such as for running lean, or o2 sensor problems.

Surprisingly I haven’t gotten any codes lol. It’s been hanging in there. And thank I have been considering something aftermarket, but we’ll see:)
