This is the shop that invented Mughlai parantha. The name of the shop is Anadi Cabin. Why the word cabin you may ask. So did we and it was told to us that in the time of Britishers Indians were not allowed to eat in the same room.

Cabin means a small covered place where you can share your personal time with your loved ones..Earlier it was a small room covered with pardah.Dont know was anadi cabin had it or not..

This was a must visit place if we are to cover Kolkata food and you are going to all right places.Kolkata was once the capital under the English regime and therefore many of their practices have remained.

Duck egg is a very common item in kolkata. It is called hasher dim in bengali.You can also try the duck egg's kasa. That is a very beautiful item.

There are different type of Mughlai parathas. Having different types of fillings. From light to heavy. Chicken and Mutton fillings are more familiar. And in Kolkata Duck eggs are very normal. Even 10 yrs back prople used to eat duck eggs normally at home like chicken eggs of today. But duck eggs are heavier, more cholesterol and little less available now a days.

People eat with knives and spoons because of hygiene issues, no where in India hygiene is understood properly, although Dettol adds are very popular but Kolkatta follows hygiene more.
