Bonsai Bears is a 6-day backpack DIY backcountry bear hunt in some of the most remote country in the lower 48. This film is within the Bear Wars series and one of our most popular black bear episodes. The terrain is extreme, gear is calculated, calories are weighted, and routes and strategies are mapped months in advance to ultimately ensure the safety and success of MF Team Members.

great hunt. My sides hurt laughing from the one guy trying not to crack up while saying how happy he was with the scaly faced cub sized bear... he shot a walking fish! just a tad bit of ground shrinkage from 680 yards.

Old deer hunter here. Wish I could've hunt bear with ya boy's but I'd die from sleeping on that cold, wet hard ground, I remember those days too well! You'd have to guarter me and carry me out on backpacks and that'd be cause for celebration for my old lady Great job guys! I'm hooked!

Fitness is #1, gotta be able to push your body to its limits. Mapping area before hand and using offline mapping tools. Food/gear preperation is key. Knowing your gear and investing in lightweight equipment.

That's a great question, Brian. Some of the best tips I can give it skin it quick, clean, and keep it in a cool dry place. When opportunity allows take it out of the bad and let it air out in the shade.

Just for future reference, not trying to be a jerk picking on technicalities, but the term is “banzai” not bonsai. Bonsai are miniature manicured trees in a bonsai pot. “Banzai!” is the exclamation. Nice vid though, good job.

A real hunter only takes a bullet for what there going to hunt if you miss thats your fault you don't get to shoot again until you hit it you should be ashamed of that but like I said the bear hunts is just the excuses you guys are using what they are all really waiting for is for what hsppends at night in the tents iam pretty sure what was hitting that dude in the face was somthing else and not the tent
