There is something special about fishing. And fishing by yourself can be very special. I am thinking of the movie/book, "A River Runs Through It". At the end, the author says, "and now I fish the big-waters alone.....but when I am alone...all existence seems to fade to being with my soul and my memories....I am haunted by waters." This is the beauty of fishing. Thanks, Matt, for bringing this experience to us. BTW: Merry Christmas.

Ahhh! The winter oasis video compliments of Matt and the Bob Ross approach to fishing. I'm torn between waiting for ice again but strongly dislike the extreme cold brought in Christmas weekend. The best part was the crab boil in negative 10 degree wind chill going off without a hitch. In a few months I can break in the new wading boots. Blessings in 2023 Matt.

As always a most entertaining video, and with variety of species too! At time 7:35 that walleye was beautiful with its golden shine. Apparently it seems to be more powerful fighting than its Eurasian cousin, zander, of which I recently caught my PB ( 63 cm). The fishing day in the September warm weather is so pleasant in comparison with the terribly cold polar winds coming up over Noth America. Merry Christmas to you Matt and all the viewers of this wonderful channel.

I usually stick with lures during summer but it would be fun to toss some crawlers out and see what I’d catch at this spot. There’s usually some crappie around there and I saw several sturgeon swimming around the edge of that deep hole on this trip too!

@@ndyakangler I'm a lure guy too, I didn't pickup worms until mid october or so when it started getting chilly - people argue that worms don't work very good in cool water but that's far from the truth. Landed a couple 4 lb largemouths jigging worms this year. If you ever visit Minnesota, you should take a crack at Thole Lake in Shakopee. Great hole for crappie, I was surprised to find some 11-12s off the dock there this October. The spot in this video looks fun! I have ND in my bucket list of fishing destinations now haha
