Innocence without any hint of weakness is how I like to describe her voice.

They play for the song, not for their egos. Ghost Love Score doesn’t need a ripping guitar solo. It doesn’t compliment the song, but in Romanticed it’s perfect.

This song is Like a Coffee with Red Bull .... On Steroids 🤘❤‍🔥🤘. The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classically trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast . AND,...Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. This is why I think the first part of Gabriel's list is useful - each of the songs introduces you to more aspects of Nightwish. _GLS_ is very Floor-focused with Jukka a distant second, Emppu third, and the others barely seen; _Romanticide_ highlights Emppu, Marko, and Jukka more, and shows off a different musical style too. Plus you get a bit of Tuomas headbanging!

Great reaction, I love your enthusiasm; I have subscribed to your channel. Yes, Floor not only has a fantastic highly versatile voice but also a stunning stage presence. She owns every stage she enters at once and commands the crowd like a real warrior goddess. If you like it harder watch "Yours is an empty hope" from Wembley 2015 (yes, it is Floor growling there). Or "Disdain" with Floors former band ReVamp Graspop 2010. Or very hard - Nightwish without Floor, Marko on lead - Master Passion Greed. For this there is only the album version available, they never played it in a concert. And you should know the band's history before listening to it (it has been written after the change from Tarja to Anette). By the way, every member of Nightwish is an outstanding artist who just plays for the song instead of showing off, no egos on stage, just good friends who love what they are doing - and each other.

She definitely has a LOT of people under her spell, but when you get to learn more about her, you realise it's not magic. She's just an insanely talented, but also humble, genuinely *nice* person too.

Nightwish's catalogue is wonderful. Continue down Gen. Gabrial's path. Since you like the heavier side, you need to listen to another symphonic metal band, Epica. NW and Epica are 1 and 1a when it comes to the genre. Epica is heavier than Nightwish with a singer of the same caliber as Floor, Simone Simons. A great song to start with is Design Your Universe. I would listen to the version from the 10th anniversary, 2013 Retrospect concert.

Just to clarify Floor is not a witch she is the Valkyrie Queen! The goddess and chooser of the noble dead. In reality she graduated from the Dutch Rock Academy and studied opera and musical theatre for three years. Your next Nightwish should be “Storytime” but checking out Floor’s previous work would be enlightening. I recommend the band ReVamp song “disdain” at grasspop festival.

She was and is a fantastic singer and more operatic then Floor. The band blamed her husband for driving a wedge between her and the rest of the band. Master Passion Greed is part of the break up trilogy of songs (Poet and the Pendulum, Bye Bye Beautiful) and is directed at Tarja's husband Marcello. Never played live.

Excellent reaction again! This just shows that Nightwish is not just about Floor. The rest of the guys are equally amazing. In Tuomas (the keyboard player) they have an amazing songwriter, he’s not called the metal Mozart for nothing!

Floor IS like the golden aura around the song. I don't think I've ever heard a more apt description of GLS 😊

Every single member of this band is so incredibly talented. The guitarist, Emppu, is one of the best, but he plays for the song, not to show off. Marko, the bassist, has an incredible voice that you will hear more of later, plus I get a kick out of the way he sings and plays that bass at the same time. When he and Floor duet, it is just about perfection. Jukka, on the drums, leading that tempo, and, behind them all the rock, and the master musician and composer, Tuomas on keyboards.

Bear in mind that every song at this concert not written for Floor but she takes them all to another level. This song and Ghost Love Score were written for the first singer Tarja Turunen (1996-2005, operatic ) and Storytime if next, written for second singer Anette Olzon (2007-2012, pop ) who couldn't sing the middle section and relied on recording unlike Floor (2012- present)

Floor has 2 personas, the wolf and the dog. On stage she is the wolf, fearless commanding and charismatic. But in real life Floor is very gentle and quite shy. She is a sensitive person and is in tough with nature and animals. Check out her personal channel, it shows you stuff from home and her solo stuff as well as her old bands. You wouldn't think she had only been with band for 10 months at this concert and was the biggest she had ever sung at. Great reaction.
