You actually stated that there are now multiple, credible military personnel who are witness to UAPs. How many do you need? Many of the old debunked sightings should be re-examined. The governments had active debunking programs to shut down the conversation. Witnesses were ridiculed, careers were ruined. I don't think they're alien. However, whatever they are, they've been there for as long as humans have been able to record them. Many sightings bear similarities to tales in folklore. It is a fascinating piece of human experience.

I love your reasonable grounded take on the situation. The only things we know for sure is that we: -Have unknown objects flying in the sky, sometimes submerging underwater. -A non zero amount of objects are not able to be ruled out by glitches, human brain fallibility, or other issues -We don't know of any technology we have to match it That said. We need to destigmatize this or it becomes a strategic disadvantage. Imagine your enemy makes technological leaps, and you simply dismiss it because you believe it doesn't exist. It would be stupid to keep this stigmatized.

"Science" means following evidence wherever it takes you, without letting any pre-conceived notions sway you from that path. That does NOT in any way preclude the possibility that these are actual ET encounters/signals. I'm always amused to see scientifically-minded people stating absolutes about the universe in so far as what is "possible" or "likely." We can barely fart a few astronauts off the surface of this speck of dust that we call Earth. What you're doing is akin to a microbe making grand assumptions about the function and inner workings of a skyscraper. No one is in any position to do that, and it's very possible that such will always be the case.

The sentence on that X-Files poster saying "I Want To Believe" has always been suspicious to me and (to a degree) explains perfectly why people instantly deny scientific facts in favor of their beliefs. It doesn't say "I want to know" Or "I want to understand". It has almost religious properties. To me the poster could also show a pic of Jesus with the same line underneath it. Fascinating! 40+ years ago, over a meal with friends, I was shown black & white photos by another guest, of a “UFO” hovering above him at night where he was camping alone in a mountainous region of Australia. There were quite a lot of photos and an elaborate story to go with them and, while I’m a sceptic from way back, the one lasting legacy from this episode was that the thing / things I saw images of where not the “usual” saucers / cigars etc, but were something totally unrecognisable….. but then again…. They would be wouldn’t they ? To this day I remain undecided simply because I have no evidence to form an opinion either way, plus I have never been able to fathom what motivation this person would have to make the whole thing up and dupe anyone.

I had one in 2018, but I’ve always second-guessed it like every strange, unexplained thing I’ve encountered. I was looking up at the sky and there was a moving object. It was moving strangely and almost looked like a star but it was early dusk. Then it suddenly shot off in a perfectly straight line disappearing almost instantly. Could have been something normal to someone, but it was strange to me. I imagine other people who saw it may have decided it was alien craft.

I agree, the single biggest value-added part of this whole thing, is simply the de-stigmatizing of it, so some serious scientists-type folks can actually be part of studying it. And as for NASA’s involvement: Keep in mind, that’s been limited: It’s not primarily NASA people involved, but people/researchers doing a limited evaluation of some NON-classified data (only) under NASA auspices as part of the overall US Government effort, and only for a specified period of time (i.e. not an on-going thing). Still, it’s valuable to have it de-stigmatized.

Excellent video, Alex! I'm not sure what to think these days. As a teen driving home at night back in the 70s, I saw "something." It flew over me at about a 45° angle from front right to back left, maybe a few hundred feet above me. There were twin sets of three red strobe lights blinking from inward to outward on the underside where wings or other structures would have been. The local power company would fly over the large transmission lines near by at all times of day and night doing inspections. I stopped the car, opened my window expecting to hear a slow, noisy helicopter fly over me. _Silence._ On a warm, clear, quiet night I heard _nothing_ as it flew over and past me as far as I could watch it. Not being a very brave girl, it scared me sh*tless. I still feel a bit unnerved thinking about the incident here in 2023. To be honest, it wouldn't bother me if we were alone. But maybe that's just the scared 17 yo who wishes she'd _seen nothing_ that night.

It was a white triangle with a keyhole shape cutout in the back. Now I think about it, this one didn’t have any sound either. It was going pretty fast ( I assume since it looked really high up ). I dunno it’s always cool to remember these experiences when people in the media are having these conversations, about whether they are real or not, because we’ll always have these first-hand experiences to look back on. The thing is, I’ll still probably never know whether it was aliens or the government who were controlling it.

I once seen a light brighter than Venus but dimmer then a streetlight moving across the sky in 2012 ( before drones were commercially developed) in Michigan’s upper peninsula. As I was watching my mind didn’t immediately go to UFO. In fact, I first thought it was a helicopter, but it didn’t make any sound, then I thought commercial airliner and I just hadn’t heard the sound wave reach me yet. At this point it was only half a mile away from me, when it stopped in mid air. Then it started moving forward from the point in stopped. Then it turned directly away from me, and then it’s lights shut off and came back on again, twice. Even at this point I still didn’t think UFO, I was still thinking it was some kind of weird airplane until it took off in a zigzag path, but at a unimaginably speed. I’ve seen jets fly over my home as a kid and this thing seemed thousands of times faster. After the zigzag maneuver it stopped at a point in the sky and just disappeared. I’m a pretty skeptical person and after I seen it do the zigzag movement I knew I’d seen something beyond the technology of man. I felt overwhelmed with joy, fear astonishment and anger. I was angry because I’d seen this thing in the sky and no one else was around to see it but me. Still bothers me to this day.

18 years ago, on a clear winter night in central Europe, I saw a round bright object zig zaging across the sky. It was silent and originally I thought it was a satellite, as it was moving at that speed (or maybe a little faster) and it wasn't zig zaging at first. Eventually, the object returned to where I first spotted it and suddenly a two other such objects joined it. They were indistinguishable from stars at first, because they were motionless before joining. I had to run across my apartment to see where they headed and I could only see two if the objects flying away. I really thought those were satellites, they even looked like it (I had a small binoculars, it looked like round shape that was casting crescent shadow).

I saw something very similar in the skies above Leeds, West Yorkshire a few years ago. I have a workshop next to an ancient woodland in a village on the outskirts of Leeds. There is very little light pollution. I was outside watching the stars when I noticed something moving in a unique way. It zig-zagged, went from slow to fast, fast to slow, in no obvious pattern. I watched it in amazement for around quarter of an hour and then locked up my workshop and headed for the bus home. All the way to the bus stop I was keeping my eyes on the craft, and I was surprised it was bright enough to be seen when I was under streetlights. When I got to the bus stop I watched it for a further 10 minutes or so, at which point a satellite came from east to west, and the craft zoomed over to the satellite as if inspecting it and then promptly zoomed away again. It seemed playful! At that point, a man I know from the village came to the bus stop as I was looking up. I said to him "I think we've got company!" and he never said another word to me until the bus came, as if he was dumbfounded. When I got off the bus, I phoned my then partner in Harrogate and watched the craft for around 15 minutes as I walked along the nature trail alongside a local beck and old railway line. It continued to move in strange ways, at great speeds at times, and I was actually audibly laughing in delight. I lost sight of it for a while as the light pollution of where I live made it difficult to see but as I walked through the park, I could see it was still there. I stood and watched it for a further 10 minutes when I got to my garden, at which point I'd been watching it for 45 minutes or so. Amazed, thrilled and happy, I went in my house.

Cold winter night, western Canada, two star-sized points of light zigzagging across the western sky as if they were chasing each other or dogfighting. I had a weird reaction; I started screaming and couldn’t move until they sort of faded out of view. It was like they sort of dematerialized in the middle of their display, without any real pause in their action. It only lasted maybe 45 seconds tops, but I’ve not seen anything like it to this day. At times they appeared to chase each other, then they'd drift apart or quickly move to another area of the sky. Safe to say I slung the washing in the basket and locked the door behind me. i saw the same thing w my cousin in his backyard except it was an orange orb similar height off the ground, came outta nowhere i didnt see but he said just floated over the house and dropped a little then hovered for a few minutes, he nudged me when it first appeared so when i looked up it was just there hovering over the houses behind his about 50ish feet in the air, this thing gave off ZERO sound and was a round orb shape so no propulsion could be seen from my perspective... when he said film it, i fumbled to get my camera app open and as he said that this thing took off exactly like you said shot up into sky again no sound or visible propulsion... the craziest part, this was 5 years before the nimitiz and FLIR videos came out so that was very cool and affriming, we were in the yard looking around for it and all of a sudden this rumble noise got louder and louder and LOUDER and then BOOM a military jet, one, with no running lights came screaming over us SUPER LOW like ive seen the blue angels and been around military bases where these jets fly and seen/heard a few low passes but this beats all of them by a long shot, my guess is that orb had been messing w the jet all night, it was 2am btw when this happened, and the jet/orb lost track or something happened this orb literally shot off and disappear so i dont think it had any issues doing that to the jet when it wanted to but most likely was fucking w it like in the FLIR videos, so it decided to drop down and say hi to us or just show off IDK but that jet was circling trying to find it and coordinate w radar who had to been tracking it but suddenly the jet saw it on the ground and dive bombed it trying to chase and keep up with it, thats when it took off right before so either our phone being out or it knew the jet was coming one or both. to me, theres no way that was our military tech, why in the world would it ever stop and get that close to humans who have no classified clearences AND the freakin jet chased it, i dont think the jet expected ppl to be outside and had no way of turning back when it saw us i mean it had to have seen us my cousin has about half acre backyard with other areas of field around his too but there are houese nearby so that jet had to have seen 2 ppl just standing in middle of yard cuz it was that low, i get goosbumps just thinking back to the sound and sudden realization of that thing SCREAMING over us, its one thing to see an orb and chalk it up to this or that smoked one too many doobies that night LOL but to have a mil jet CHASE it, they would never chase it like that if it was our tech why even go after it just let the flyer do its thing and fly aorund if it got to low or off course they will correct or go find it the jet doesnt need to announce itself like that... to me either the jet ppl thought it was such a danger it needed to be chased like that or they were just feeling some type of way about that thing messing w them and want to go chase it cuz why not thats what those guys/girls eat/sleep/breath everyday is hoping to chase something cool more like enemy jet but thats even cooler i bet.

What is curious about these sightings is that they have only been detected in the airspace of earthly aircraft. I have not seen any reports of them being detected entering our atmosphere from space. I know we have detection systems that can detect this type of phenomenon as they come from wherever they are coming from, if they are terrestrial. Not having any such detections that we know of it narrows the search to be earthbound in some way.

As a 53yo guy, this is the most exciting time, in terms of the search for extra-terrestrial life, that I've seen. It's astounding to see the government being open whereas in the past they usually wouldn't even acknowledge UFO sightings. And there's also our explorations of water-scarred areas of Mars and upcoming missions to Titan and Europa. I'm hoping that we finally find proof of life beyond Earth. It will be paradigm-shifting. F/A-18s are 80s-era birds. Many of them have upgraded the sensor packages, but those upgrades tend to be to other parts of the EV spectrum rather than the visual. If something were to land there, wouldn't the stalks be pushed out and away from the center? Assuming there was some engine thrust being used to slowly lower the craft to the ground. I too like the AI hypothesis although, like Jacques Vallee, I doubt the motive is biological research, because it has gone on for so long. It might be cultural research, documenting the evolution of a species from unconscious animal to god-like being, or it might even be an attempt to influence human cultural evolution, as Vallee has suggested. Vallee also doubts these things are extraterrestrial in nature. He thinks rather that they are hyperdimensional.

Im former US military. I saw one of these with the naked eye with binoculars. I was fairly close to a civilian airport that was adjacent to an airforce base. A civilian jet almost collided with it so it had to move. What was interesting was It was not visible until it moved. At first we thought the jets engine had fallen off. The jet kept going but the object held its position. Then gradually went transparent, then completely invisible. It also made no sound. I have no idea what it is, But Ive never seen anything like it, it ingrained so deep in my mind i can play it back in my head like a video. That being said, Judging by its actions, It seems it does not want to be detected. So it does not surprise me there is little quality evidence until recently if it is infact a technologically superior entity evading detection. Also another thing to consider Is that with drones being so tiny, They had to upgrade the radar to a higher resolution to track small objects. This is why the destroyers escorting Nimitz could see them, it also implies they have stealth characteristics.

Without wishing to rain on the parade, my guess is that the uptick in UAP sightings and increased government “openness” is a psy-op but without going down that rabbit hole, let’s look at it from another angle. How likely is it really to be aliens or even alien probes? The rare earth hypothesis would suggest that planets capable of hosting intelligent life are extremely rare within the universe. Furthermore it took around 3.5 billion years from life first appearing to get to multicellular organisms, with the likelihood of there being several great filters along this journey. Further to this the conditions that allow advanced intelligence to evolve are highly unusual. In our case a series of very lucky flukes. Of the 5,000,000,000 species which have ever lived on Earth only one has made civilisations. The occurrence of technological civilisations may be far less than one per galaxy, which explains the Fermi paradox and makes it highly unlikely that we have been, are being or ever will be visited by aliens.

I remember being a young child in the early 2000s at my grandmother's house one night in León, Mexico, when I stepped out of the kitchen and on to the courtyard making my way back to my room after an evening snack when I suddenly felt the need to look up at the night sky. León is a heavily populated city with a lot of light pollution, so it's hard to see many stars, but that night, I saw a strange group of dim red lights arranged in a circle. There were maybe 5 to 6 lights hanging out by what we called the Three Kings stars (Orion's belt). The group of lights and stars were positioned in such a way that I thought they looked like a giant red lollipop in the sky. The Three Kings forming the stick of the lollipop and the red lights making up the candy part. I had never seen anything like it before, and so I stood there for several minutes wondering what the lights could be. I was thinking maybe it was an airplane or a helicopter, but I watched closely to see if they moved at all. Nothing. No movement, blinking, flashing, nor pulsing. They remained still like they were part of the normal night sky. I started feeling some fear because I couldn't figure it out. Aliens crossed my mind, but I didn't want to believe that. I walked back to my room glancing back every now and again to see if it would go away, but the lights remained where they were. I went to bed and eventually fell asleep. The next day, I thought about it all day and asked my family about it, but they didn't care. That night I looked for the lights again, but all I found were the Three Kings in their usual place. I have never seen those lights again, but every now and then I'll look over at the Three Kings to see if they returned.

Can you imagine a group of children seeing a bright white long object rounded at both ends about 45 - 50 ft long making no sound at all, sitting perfectly still in the sky, hovering near the back of a tall block of apartments, then slowly moving away from the building, when it moved away from the building the children knew that it was aware they had seen it, it continued moving away from the building over a playing field then came to a sudden stop, it then moved up at a right angle slowly then shot up at that angle very fast & it was gone - I’ve no need to imagine that because I was one of those children. I still have no idea what it was & this took place when I was about 8 or 9 years old and I turn 57 in August, I have never heard anyone describe what I saw until I heard Commander David Fravor describing what they saw & I knew that was one of if not the same object I saw. I do understand if people don’t believe that such things exist because before I saw that I used to laugh at the idea, but I know what I saw & humanity does not posses such a vehicle or object that can move like that, so what is it?

Sometimes, witnesses has seen smaller ufos (looking like little light globes) going inside that shape, just before the 'cigar' went into space. That is why we believe they are mother ships of some kind whom are able to go even faster in the void of space. it is like a navy carrier who can more securely or comfortably transport these small ufos from one point in space to another.

I don't know why but every mystery around us makes me revisit the double slit experiment. This experiment is like nature's way of dictating what we are allowed to observe and what we aren't. The double-slit experiment has always been my favourite - always boggles the mind. And I've been a scientist for 50+ years. Another note - why is it that the individual experiences of many thousands (millions?) of people who have witnessed or interacted with craft or beings is always dismissed? I saw a craft doing impossible manouvres as a child, while with my family who all saw it. Even today with drones and such, the movements are still "impossible" in our physics, and I've heard many similar reports from disparate sources going back decades. This is such a common experience, yet because not recorded or repeatable, and we're not USAF pilots, is not accepted as any "real" evidence. We know it was real, why would that not be seen as evidence? Qualitative rather than quantitative, accepted in other fields of science these days.

@@anitapeura3517 As you said, because it performed "impossible" manouvres and the physics we know today are not capable of doing that. It's like saying you saw an angel descend from the heavens, some people will believe it while some will not. The topic about UFO or UAP now is still a topic of such stigma that it is shunned. As long as the government actually confirms what these 'UAP's' are, a lot of people will not believe it. Why? Simply because it doesn't affect the general populace. Even if they are aliens, they are not disrupting the daily lives of the common men. Sure, some people will see impossible things but thats all there is to it. Ever wonder why paranormal sightings by both old and younger people are not taken seriously? Because it dwells with the same topic such as 'aliens' and cannot be proven with the scientific method.

I once watched a craft pass directly over my head while out walking in an open space on the outskirts of Swindon, Wiltshire, where the light pollution was minimal. It was a very clear, starry night and this craft was triangular in shape blocking the background stars quite distinctly as it moved, and at each corner was a a white light. It moved very slowly above me and I craned my neck to watch it, and it turned through 90 degrees, without banking, as if it was pivoting. But what struck me most was that it made absolutely no sound at all. despite being quite low. With nothing against which to judge its size, if I assessed it as a small plane then it was not more than a few hundred feet above me. If it was higher, then it was much larger. The movement might have been explained away as a helicoptor, but then there was no sound and did not explain the clearly triangular shape. No airplane that I know of could turn as if doing so on the spot and not ikn silence. In any case, it didn't feel menacing and I watched it silently glide away over the town until it was lost in the lights from the built up area. That was in the winter of 1999.

A lot of this can be pretty easily explained away, the incident involving Nimitz in 2004 could have just as easily been a bird, or just as easily balloons that had drifted out to sea, and the appearance of the object manoeuvring rapidly is because the aircraft is manoeuvring, and the camera is locked onto the object, so as the aircraft flies towards it, due to a quirk of perspective and a very narrow FOV, the background moves quickly making it look like the object is manoeuvring quickly. When new radar is installed and or radar is upgraded, it needs to be tweaked and fine tuned, that's the whole point of going out to test it, and frankly, how would an object not only go un-noticed by all terrestrial radar equipment on earth when approaching the planet, radar equipment capable of detecting and tracking pieces of trash in orbit down to just 5cm across, not detect an object that conveniently is only detected by a newly upgraded module on a single ship, and not any of the other ships or aircraft in the area, and the only way pilots can get a visual is with a TGP, notoriously twitchy and sensitive gimbal cameras used typically for targeting ground objects.

Well if you read the government investigation documentation you'll find that the possibilities go further than that. OK, yes it could be man-made, and yes it could be astmsopheric. But it also could be psychological -- an aspect of our consciousness, something we all "synchronously imagine". The idea is maybe our perception controls reality more than we think -- maybe the we only "notice" the physical effects because of a sort of hive-mind consciousness that sometimes generates anomolous perceptions. (Yes this has been seriously considered). The other option is of course that it's extraterrestrial. But that option splits into more options. Drones? Or piloted craft? Remotely piloted, or with beings inside? Physical craft, or simulated effects? We simulate sounds, scents, and appearances to hide our presence as we observe other animals. Who's to say aliens might not be simulating the appearance of a craft, simulating the water disturbances, simulating the radar effects, to obscure their presence while they do their observations? A lot of interesting possibilities to consider!

There's been 2 times where I've seen UAP's, or at least objects that don't behave in ways consistent with my knowledge base. Pretty sure that what I've seen isn't experimental aircraft too, as I live in New Zealand and we have an almost non existent air force. One of them was a stationary bright star (cloudless night sky), that kept getting brighter and brighter. Easily outshining every other star, then it just winked out. Gone. I stayed watching that area for 20 minutes and nothing came back. I also checked online for geosynchronous satellites, but nothing. Then the second experience was two orange orbs speeding along. The trailing orb was less bright than the first one. It was night time so, hard to tell their altitude but I'd guess about the height of a passenger jet. But yeah, that part is an estimation. I count myself lucky to have experienced these events.
