I just drove 3 hours home after attending my brother's funeral. This song was playing on Pandora as I began my sad journey after saying goodbye to my brother. I kept pressing rewind and it was the only song I listened to the entire drive home. So poignant, powerful and lovely. Thank you, Mumford and Sons.

Bless your heart. I am very sorry for your loss. Mumford and sons have gotten me through my darkest times. In your words… yes indeed their music certainly is poignant, powerful & lovely. I hope all is well with you now. I see it’s 2 years after you wrote that. Do you still listen to them? I can’t help but wonder.

My heart goes out to you. My best friend passed away suddenly back in February. This was always one of our shared favorite songs. Now it means so much more now that he’s gone. This song saves me. ❤

The whole show will live on forever, I remember the original video of the whole letterman show and I would use it as my personal play list before bed every night

Crazy how this song is still one of the most beautiful songs I've ever listened to, it's a true masterpiece of a song 👌👌

I chose this song to be played at my mum’s funeral, the lyrics and the way the song is sung just reminds me of her. This is the first time in two months I’ve managed to listen to this song without tears in my eyes.

You saw my pain, washed out in the rain Broken glass, saw the blood run from my veins But you saw no fault no cracks in my heart And you knelt beside my hope torn apart But the ghosts that we knew will flicker from you And we'll live a long life So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light 'Cause oh that gave me such a fright But I will hold as long as you like Just promise me we'll be alright So lead me back Turn south from that place And close my eyes from my recent disgrace 'Cause you know my call We'll share my all Now children come and they will hear me roar So give me hope in the darkness that I will see the light 'Cause oh that gave me such a fright But I will hold as long as you like Just promise me we'll be alright But hold me still bury my heart on the cold And hold me still bury my heart next to yours So give me hope in the darkness and I will see the light 'Cause oh that gave me such a fright But I will hold on as long as you like Just promise me we'll be alright But the ghosts that we knew made us blackened or blue But we'll live a long life And the ghosts that we knew will flicker from the view And we'll live a long life

I've never cared about, appreciated, related, respected, felt almost every emotion possible and simply loved as much as this beautiful masterpiece. When thoughts become words written to create something like this and it's delivered the exact way it was intended to, it becomes so much more than a song and for that, I am beyond grateful for it to have found me when I needed to hear and feel that the most. It 100% had a major role in starting the process of healing and putting everything good back in arms reach♥️🙏
