Vanessa Howard totally owns it as Girly, oscillating between youthful adorability plus ingenuity and manic psychosis. She reminds me of Oscar Wilde's Salome but more vitriolic and insane.

Thanks for posting this wonderful clip. Any idea what Vanessa says after "do you like ice cream?" as she finishes Sonny off?

You're welcome. The next line is 'Do you like fourpenny ones?' It's an English children's joke about getting short-changed, by asking for a fourpenny sweet, say, and getting four penny ones instead. She is saying basically that Sonny's not getting short-changed in what she's handing out.

Thanks for explaining it. I would never had figured that out. Vanessa's facial expressions in this scene are marvellous. A compilation of her screams in "All The Way Up" would be interesting as well :-)

The title track of the English musical 'On The Level' from 1966 by Ron Grainer - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btR7f7RkzuCxhJs.html. I can almost imagine the likes of Egg covering it. The voice singing 'Sure we'll stop it, that's the big idea' on that track belongs to Vanessa. I've also posted the full soundtrack on yt - it should be on the sidebar here.
