I've recently levelled up my Etsy shipping game and got a 4x6 thermal label printer. I'm using one from Munbyn in this video, it's their 4x6 shipping label printer. It took me a bit to get used to it and I learned a few things along the way that I thought I'd share! I'm glad I got this printer, it's made my process a lot quicker :)

Thank you for your video. I found one of these brand new in a thrift store for £25. This is one of my best buys ever. I'm an eBay seller. I was using my Epson printer and it was costing a bomb. I've saved so much money and time. Even though it's not Bluetooth I can handle that.

im glad i finally bought this little shipping label printer...now i can start selling online again since i had to take a break for awhile....i used to always have to go to the post office to get the shipping labels printed and their system always took forever to print, id seem to always hold up the line.... heck, even the clerk at the post office i go to started getting annoyed with me whenever he saw me coming in since he was the only clerk working in the front

Helped thank you. I thought the default setting was 0 for the darkness print setting. Had issues with the barcodes not scanning. Thanks again. 😊😁👍🙂

I’m just setting up my own website. Got my domaine and hosting. I’m unsure about how to generate shipping labels, so far I’ve been forced to go to the post office and have them weigh and open and go through my parcels (Canada post). If it’s paper they give me a nice rate, if I’m shipping anything other than paper products, the process and costs vary IMMENSELY depending on who’s working the counter and in the office. There’s no consistency. I’d like to make and weigh my own parcels with prepaid postage so I only have to use the drop bin when ready.

Hey Sarah, I was just doing some research on thermal printers and stumble on your channel. You got some amazing guides! I was wondering what your experience is with printing Chit Chats labels with the Munbyn printer so far. You mentioned that it isn't compatible, so I'll have to download the labels as PDFs and print them individually. This is my first thermal printer purchase, I use a PC instead of a Mac and I ship exclusively with Chit Chats, so I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks again!

I still use it and to me it's still pretty quick! I download all the pdfs and bring them into a pdf reader just like in the video and can crop them all at once and the hit print once.. I would assume you can do that on PC as well. So ya so far I'm really happy with it!

Just curious I know Munbyn has a 203dpi and 300dpi version of the printer. Which version is yours?

If you just work with Canada Post could this be set up to just print a label for each etsy order as they are ordered if it was all the same item? ie: walk into office and attach printed labels to prepackaged items and put them in the mail without missing an order or looking at the computer...

The Munbyn with external fanfold paper takes up a lot of deskspace. If you need a more compact design consider the Toshiba BV410D direct thermal label printer.

Hey Sarah. I`m struggling a lot with that printer. When I have a PDF with some labels, I choose the speed and density and then when it starts printing, the first label is perfect, but the following labels come in the worst quality possible. Any idea of why this happens? Thanks in advance and great video!

that hasn't happened to me before, it sounds faulty.. I would reach out to their support and see if it's possible to get a new one or if they know how to fix that.

@@SarahTypes hey Sarah! thanks a lot for your reply. I just solved the issue and decided to give the feedback here in case someone face the same. What happened is that I was opening the PDFs generate by PayPal directly in the browser and printing. As soon as I downloaded them and used Acrobat Reader to open them, the issue is gone. So, if someone face the same issue, making sure they use Acrobat Reader to print can help.

@@ThyLightOfficial What browser were you using? I've been having a lot of trouble with chrome specifically with default settings. I change my windows printer defaults to portrait, and chrome spitefully prints landscape, or reverse. Painful!

Just like with any other device: go to the manufactures website, go to downloads/support and find your model. Download the installer and follow the prompts.

Can it print out any color? Am I able to upload my own logo and have it printed out as a sticker/label ? I've been looking for a sticker/label maker because I have a small baking business and I'd like to turn a logo I've hand drawn into a sticker/label to slap onto my customers boxes. If this isn't the right product for me do you have any recommendations?

you can print out any design but it has to be black and white

thanks for the video! how waterproof is the thermal print? i'm wondering how long it would last if i needed to print a label that I was going to stick outdoors.

Out of curiosity of your comment, I ran one of my test Munbyn paper sample labels under some water. The dark portion doesn't run into the white at all under water, even after wiping it hard with a napkin, but the paper does get slightly warped from the moisture. I also tested the hair dryer on it, holding it till it was very hot to the touch for a minute or two, without change to the tone. I think it'd be ok in the sun for quite some time, but I don't suspect the paper or adhesive to stand moisture for too long, maybe a month or few. I'd recommend finding a reputable sticker producer/vender that offers vinyl prints that come with UV coating, or someone who does custom decals (which is basically the same material). Those 2 tend to last at least about 2-3 years outside in my personal experience. (In reference, I live in the desert, where it gets very hot, and can be very moist during summer.) Hope this helps.

@@NULLDIVISIONofficial thanks for the reply even though it wasn't on your video, i really appreciate that fam... you're right about the vinyls with the UV coating, seriously the best option but for what I want to use it for, I was looking for a more cost effective solution. Thermals seem like a viable option for me. Thanks again!

Hello dear, whether the thermal printing is waterproof depends on the material of the label paper. Generally speaking, the thermal printing results can be stored for about 3 months under long-term outdoor light.

nope, when you buy it on amazon.ca it comes from a canadian warehouse I believe so I didn't have to pay duty.

Hey Sarah! Do you know if there is a way to do this without having to pay for the adobe subscription? I recently got the Munbyn printer and like you, I also use chit chats for all my shipments. I know Munbyn is not really compatible with Chit Chats which requires us to do it the way you mention, by downlaoding the PDF. But since I dont have the paid version of adobe, I dont have access to the "edit PDF" option, therefore i cannot crop my image to fit on the 4x6 sheet. Any ideas? Help! Thanks! -Valerie

Just black since it’s a thermal print, it’s basically heating up the paper up. Munbyn and Amazon sell labels that are already colored like pink or blue

@@munbyn_official Hi, my question is. Since this is thermal like receipts, when putting labels on products (candles or beauty products) how the stickers and printing function? Do they disappear? Because in the case of shipping labels this is not a problem, but for small business printing labels with really good quality to put on their products it might be. Please, can you help me with this? i'm here struggling to choose one label printer, but don't know if for this effect (labels on products) this would be the best option, and I need to decide. And do you have plastic labels? transparent, semi-transparent, etc.

I’ve been wanting to get a label printer for my small business for the longest time and finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did ! This machine is great kzfaq.infoUgkxw55tQTywUAAOsbrlwxONZULry77sFF1Q and the blue/green color matches the rest of the accents in my office. My favorite part is how small the footprint is. It’s less than 1/4 the size of my regular printer.Set up was fairly easy. Seller will email you a link with video instructions Which I found to be more helpful than the written instructions. I use a Mac and had no issues. They even included an adaptor for USB to USB-c which is great because I’m always losing mine! I had a few issues getting the labels to print properly and wasted quite a few sheets. You need to play around with the settings to get everything adjusted just right. If you have the wrong settings, it’ll crop off the edges or feed through blank labels. These aren’t issues with the machine though, just user error.

Yikes, it's almost 50% more expensive than similar (USB-only) label printers, and $30-50 USD more costly than even the best selling ones that include Bluetooth and/or WiFi connections!

@@SarahTypes I couldn’t select a 4x6 label size, it wasn’t listed as an option. Their tutorial videos move a lightening speed and searching for others to help me makes this printer not user friendly and I don’t have time to spend 2-3 days trying to get help or get it working. I’m sending it back to Amazon.

That's fair, it did take me time to figure it out as it's not a super simple plug and play in my opinion but also save me some money. You definitely can choose that option once it's set up properly though.

@@MUNBYNPOSscanner1printer read the comments above. Timely customer support is your biggest problem. Your product may be good, but if I can’t get it working, it isn’t good for me. Your tutorial videos aren’t helpful either as they rush through the explanation. I don’t want to spend 3 hours or two days trying to figure it out. Thus, I sent it back to Amazon. BTW….customer support reached out to me 2-3 days after I sent the request for help!
