Then I got to thinking about my kids and how now my mom is the grandma in the family and I hope she holds up to the standard of "grandma" for my children that my grandmother set for us. She really was the best ever. As a kid a ran away a few times due to a shitty step dad, every time I ran away it was to Grandma's house. It just felt like home, it was safe, and it had a great smell. Grandpa was a coffee drinker and cigar smoker. The coffee cigar smell combo is nostalgic for me. Shit... I'm ranting lol.
