I've been stuck inside since 2006 due to my disability though and the one thing I've learned is that being kind & compassionate to others can help things feel not quite so bad. Look out for others, listen to people who are going through tough times like you and let them know they're loved and appreciated. The world needs more kindness-especially with all the extremists out there coming from all directions. Don't lost hope or give up on yourself and help others keep from giving up on themselves. You can have a huge and meaningful impact on others and experience things that will make your life all the more meaningful, too and you don't need to leave your house to do it. :)

Are you kidding Sir ? Your song is absolutely Brilliant. Genius perfection in every aspect. Your playing, impeccable.I remember when Summertime came out. I was barely 7, and your song grabbed me then, a Groove, a feeling. It is one of those rare song that can transport on back in time. Thank You. Musicians as skilled and gifted as you, are even more rare now than they were in 70 ✌️

I am 72 years old and remember listening to this song in the radio when I was 18. I would listen to KCBQ AM 1170 in San Diego and radio personalities like Danny Martinez, Billy Ocean and Charlie Tuna among many others. These were the times we felt we could bend the earth. I still listen to “InThe Summertime” today. Thank you Mr. Raymond Edward Dorset. ✌️

I was 16 in 1970 and I worked in a pickle packing plant after school, along with my older brother and several friends. We would all pile into one car together to ride down to the pickle plant for our afternoon shift to start. One day, In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry came on the radio and at full volume we had our first listen to a very hip sounding song and artist. over the next few days as we made our way to work all packed in the 63 Chevy together, we learned the lyrics and mouth percussion. We would sing along at full radio volume and our voices together. It was one of those best buddy shared moments ever! We still laugh all these years later when the song and our antics arise. God Love Ya Ray, You are a memory, and music maker! Ronster

You are a genius to have composed this track! in 1970 I was 15 and listened to it on jukeboxes! A "tube" which has been around the world! I later became a professional drummer-composer! This track which looks simple is actually very rich and well thought out! the groove, the feeling, the melody, the rhythm are UNIQUE! My best regards from France.

What an amazing guy Ray "Mungo Jerry" Dorset is. He wrote and recorded this song over 50 years ago and he looks, plays and sings exactly like he did back in the day. I love his self-deprecating humour. "Anyone can play this". Yes, but not anyone can write it and turn it into a number 1 single. What a lovely guy. I wish all musicians were like this.

Musicians - one of the greatest gifts ever to be bestowed upon us. Cannot imagine a life without music, and being born in the mid 60's I can certainly say that this song always brings back such great memories. Now I’m almost 60 and the song is used in all summer commercials of a well known supermarket chain in my country (Switzerland) It will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing with us how it is played: will teach it to my kids and its magic will live on…in the summertime
