I don’t play this format, but I watch every north 100 release. But I think once I get more printer ink, I’m gonna proxy some decks for my commander group. Some of us can’t always make it for a full 4-5 players, so having a Canadian Highlander learning night might be pretty sick.

18:36 Non-Canlander question here; where did you get the art for Wojek Investigator with the red feather in the art? I've only seen it with a blue feather and I'm now wondering if this is another thing tying into the ARG or something because I hadn't seen that before

Some cards in the set have 2 variants, like a colour will be missing or different. I think it has to do with the easter egg mystery they bakes into the set.

The new Krenko might be a neat addition to any Kuldotha Rebirth / Gleeful Demolition deck. Might not be enough for singleton formats to build a deck around though.

Thoughts on Cryptic Coat? I’m finding it a little hard to evaluate, but a bootleg half-True Name Nemesis, half-Batterskull seems like it at least has potential! _Ancient Tomb mana_ for the same unblockable power as Nemesis. Obviously way easier to interact with, but Ward 2 isn’t nothing, and getting to do the Batterskull dance with or even without Stoneforge and actually net value seems dece too

Excellent, as always. Thank you! 45:36 I think this black case card has interesting ‘Threat of activation’ potential. Your opponent never wants to block or remove the skeleton, because the case is face up on the battlefield. So they keep taking the two over and over, then ‘Haha Village Rites, sack the skeleton, draw two cards then DT.’

Interesting to note that the Conspiracy Unraveler is not limited to spells in hand. They can be cast from anywhere.

Crime Novelist obviously goes well with Animation Module. And Wheeler is right, artifact sacrifice decks do not need this kind of effect. But, a creature sacrifice outlet that goes infinite with that couple might be just good enough to try, any Goblin Bombardment wins on the spot, or a Woe Strider that makes your Novelist indefinitely large.

When it comes to Conspiracy Unraveler, all I can think of is the recent slew of Convoke spells we have seen recently that you could use to pay a large portion of that cost with a single card. Similar to an inverse of delve?

The only concern is that Cases only solve at your end step. Have to be careful and be ready for that disruption.

Any thought on Trouble in Pairs? Its a 4 mana white card from the Boros Precon. Prevents people from taking extra turns and has a bunch of conditions to draw cards. Its pretty narrow, but its gonna ruin some decks and is a decent passive draw effect

The new Krenko and Crime Novelist had made me try to work out if there was some kind of goblins+artifact deck possible, but I found that while there are plenty of goblins that care about artifacts, there aren't that many artifacts that help goblins that much. I wasn't too sure about either of those cards either and was mostly wondering if I could force a Goblins package into something which already had a couple of goblins already

I think that kind of thing would still be a commander thing atm, although legacy and pauper are both currently plagued by sticker goblin shenanigans so if a more "medium red" version with all the fast mana and some bigger goblins/kuldotha rebirth existed, then the artifacts don't need to care about the goblins and are convenient sacrifice fodder for some of your gobbos. Not sure if it could be made consistent enough in Canlander though.

55:36 Treasures and clues were mentioned, but what about cracking eggs directly? Crime Novelist makes playing and cracking an egg a mana neutral play that also grows a creature, is that not worth considering?

I've mucked around with Medium White/Selesnya Angel Stompy, and Wojec Investigator works in that. Get to 3-5 mana asap and keep dropping idiot creatures. The issue is the deck runs out of cards easily, so the investigator helps that out. It has synergy if you go a little deeper with angel Synergy. Looking at cards like Righteous Valkyrie and Bishop of Wings. I like angels, okay?

Hi friends, I was wondering what you think about Watcher of Hours? It's a big idiot sphinx from the commander set that's really easy to skim over, but comparing the card to Search for Azcanta makes it seem a lot better. Search for Azcanta isn't the absolute strongest card in the world but is a 6/6 flying ward 3 better enough than the silly little land? love to hear your thoughts

EOT FOF YL End Of Turn, Fact Or Fiction; You Lose is a piece of jargon coined shortly after FoF was first printed to acknowledge how often getting to cast it unopposed wins the game. Not on the spot, exactly, but it's the point the outcome became inevitable.

I feel like Assemble the Players could maybe be good in some kind of artifact deck. A lot of the non artifact creatures in those decks have real low power, like Urza, Emry, Seedshark etc. They're all either like 1/Xs or 2/Xs. It's kind of awkward because you can only play so many of those creatures, but maybe there's support for a deck out there with a bunch of creatures that make tokens and stuff, and little or no actual artifacts in the deck.

I am confused why they are talking about case of the filched falcon. Rise and Shine sees zero play, right? Animating faerie sees less than zero play, right? Am I crazy? Yeah, getting a clue is neat, but that does not a good card make. I am open to it being good but I don't understand.

Crime Novelist is the kind of card that seems cool but too niche for most decks and formats and ultimately only sees play in decks where its really a perfect fit, probably requiring a decent number of creature tutors and massive treasure generation such as Dockside Extortionist. CEDH Korvold comes to mind for example.
