Watching this video makes me miss the good days of my young life when watching the Hooihan and Big Chuck show late Friday nights

Yes, it was an institution! Shame that local production like this (and Soupy Sales, etc.) has disappeared. Mary Hartski Forever!!!

My brother, Big Bob, beat Mushmouth hands down in the mid 70's. They ruled it a tie. I wish there were footage of that. It was hilarious. Mushmouth got beat and he KNEW it.

4/19/2019 - I saw this particular contest when it aired sometime in the mid 70's. Hoolihan & Big Chuck was our favorite Saturday night entertainment and watching old horror movies. Ah, the good old days.

I thought it was Friday nights. Just like "Ghoulardi". But I am not sure.

I played in a band for years in Atlanta and Mariano was our sax player. Funny guy. Good player too. He told us about his Mush Mouth days and we thought he was jerking our chain. How did it even come up? We were playing at an event and they fed us. Mariano got his plate, we looked away for a couple of seconds... and the food was gone. It was like a magic trick.

Watched this the night it was originally aired. Still cracks me up when Mushmouth goes to shake Chris's paw and Chris bares his teeth.

Hoolihan and Big Chuck were always a part of my Friday nights growing up in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, which usually included a horrible movie but also a large pizza from Longo's in Mentor. Great times!

Daiquri the Dog recently defeating Psycho Mike in a pro wrestling match can't compete with the pizza smackdown by Chris the Fairview Fireball!

We also loved the original "Ghoulardi Show" when Ernie Anderson would get carefully crafted customized model cars sent in to him - and he would promptly blow them up on air during commercial breaks with large firecrackers stuck inside the passenger compartments -

Even during the era of Vietnamization and the early days of Watergate, the HH & BC Friday night Pizza fights were a hot topic of debate in all NE Ohio high schools. While I was a fan of Mushmouth I felt a little disappointed that he had to relay on an obscure clause of the Marcus of Queensbury rules to retain his title.
