Welcome to the Music I Like video! Every couple years since 2015, I’ve posted an updated version of this video, so in honor of the 10 year anniversary of my channel’s creation, how’s about we upload the 5th edition? This video chronicles every artist I like a significant amount of music by, and now including the many artists I’ve gotten into since the last edition. Despite this being a complete ripoff of a video MuesProductions used to have on his channel, I hope you guys enjoy this!
Is there an artist you would like me to check out based on the names you've seen here? Let me know in the comments, as I love looking into new music. Please note, I would prefer if you would not suggest any country, EDM, crunkcore or black/brutal death/slam/grindcore metal (specified to the best of my abilities to avoid any "hypocrite" cards for my use of the term "extreme metal"). I can't stress this enough, but base any suggestions you give me off of the names you see in this video. Also, before you make any suggestions, be sure to go back to where the artist would be alphabetically in the video to make sure I don’t already have them listed- a lot of people seemed to make that mistake in the past.
Hopefully there's also that chance I gave you some ideas for artists to check out if you're into the genre they play. That's something I take much pride in doing.
ALSO, I'm not gonna be answering any comments claiming I've "misclassified” or “mislabelled” a band. So if you leave any comments saying “(band) isn't (genre), it's (genre)!" I will likely ignore it. However, if there's a really serious typo (i.e. "progressive metal" when it should say "progressive rock"), please let me know! I made a point to pay close attention for typos, hopefully there wasn't anything I missed.

You got a great, diverse music taste, Shades. Your rock music taste is awesome. I can't make any rock recommendations since you got most of the classic rock bands and some of the good modern rock bands. Also, I really like the Amy Grant, Amy Winehouse, Carly Rae Jepsen, Ellie Goulding, Fiona Apple, and Kate Bush picks. Recommendations: Hip Hop: Denzel Curry, Freddie Gibbs, Griselda, J. Rapsody is in there between Random Hand and The Rasmus. This is kinda why I have the pinned comment saying to double check that I don't already have stuff in there you're trying to recommend.

Are you familiar with Little Caesar? Considering how many glam bands you have on here, I was surprised not to see them included.

In my countdown/retrospective of Whitesnake's self-titled, I mention Little Caesar when talking about the band Adrian Vandenberg, Rudy Sarzo and Tommy Aldridge had with their singer Manic Eden (I make a joke about them really liking pizza). So yes I am familiar with them, but found them to be ok at best.

I'd recommend these bands Esprit D'Air (a Japanese-British Alternative Metal band ) The Amazons (a British Indie/Alternative Rock Band) Fightstar (a British Post-Hardcore/Metalcore band) Haim (an American Pop-Rock band)

Really cool to see All-American Rejects, Black Midi, Carly Rae Jepsen, Gentle Giant, Jynx (shoutout Justin Whang), Kate Bush, Marillion and Tallah on here this time.

This list gets a Gwenny seal of approval 👍 Need to watch this again to write down the names on the list I never heard of, because oh boy, that was a long ass list (in a good way) xD For New Wave/SynthPop/anything based on Kraftwerk (falls under the range of Eurodisco), I recommend Altered Images, Peter Schilling, Nena, Kim Wilde, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Yukihiro Takahashi (RIP), Jun Togawa, Thomas Dolby, Lio, Visage, Missing Persons, Miko Mission, Fancy, Righeira, La Bionda, and Clio. For Pop (indie or otherwise), France Gall (RIP), Kajagoogoo, Tennis, and an artist by the name of Brandi Rose Lentini (I have a performance of her on my channel up) For AOR, I highly recommend an album from a band called Eclipse. The album in question is called 7th Floor. If you want, I'll PM you the link. Then there's a band called Shy Talk. They are based. (Fun fact: one of the members of the band, David Bravo, currently makes songs for a member of the 80s community known as Violet Sky. Check her out too if you want ;D) For rock, there's Titus Andronicus, Cherry Glazerr, and The Gentlemen (fronted by none other than penguinz0) That's all I got for now lol

Eclipse is in there between Eazy-E and Ed Sheeran. Some of the names in the New Wave section, I only know one song from so it didn't really make sense to include here. And I knew Cr1tikal made some music, but I did not know he had his own band, so I'll need to scope that out.

@@RanterInShades Sweetness! I take the L for not having clarified this earlier in my comment, but the Eclipse I was referring to is an entirely different band from the one already in this list. The one I mentioned in my For AOR was an 80s band of the same name that played that genre and was based in Anaheim, CA. Hope that clears up the confusion. Sorry about that

@@discoduckgandolf Ah I see. I guess it's a common name as the band I had there was a Swedish hard rock/metal/AOR band from the 00's that are signed with Frontiers Records that specializes in signing a lot of those bands.

If I may recommend a few bands for you to check out if you haven't already: -Static Dress, a Post-Hardcore band reminiscent of Underoath (They're Only Chasing Safety era) -Honey Revenge, a California pop rock band -Conquer Divide, a Metalcore band from ALL OVER THE WORLD (Primarily the US, UK, and Canada)
