All correct except Jennie studied in New Zealand for 5 years as a child and stayed with a host family. It’s a long time but part of that childhood was also in Korea.

@@tp5487 yup Jennie studied for 5 years in NZ as a child.. she was an exchange student from Korea living with a host family. As for Rosé, I don’t think birth until toddler/preschool age really counts. Her memory starts at about 5 years old probably- For the most part Lol. Rosé was in NZ from birth to 6 years old (7 in Korean years). Then she lived in Australia until she was 16. With that timeframe she would be much more Australian than NZ.

BTS and Blackpink are separate record labels and very very likely never to record anything together. Also, many of those BTS videos reacting to other performers are fake, except for an award shows. And sometimes they are fake. It's usually BTS reacting to their own videos, but someone edits it to look like other groups.

Some interesting facts: all their sets are usually real. Fire, walls, water, everything. Their company really put much money on the table for their groups 😁 but yeah, Blackpink is no joke when we talk about quality/money 💲 Their MVs can always be interpreted in many different ways, so there're many theories. But they usually talk about toxic/abusive relationships, etc; but at the same time they talk about haters/toxic fans.

We love the fact that the majority of you enjoyed us watching BlackPink and are suggesting more for us to view. Just to be clear, Cory stated that this track was recorded in both Japanese and Korean and said that he loved that in both versions they switch from Korean/Japanese to English in the same verse. We really don’t understand why we are receiving the negativity that the version we are reviewing was the Korean version, and there’s “No Japanese here”.

Fact remains the fact, the expenses from outfits, decorations and productions in the official music video. It cost approximately $8-10 million US dollars. But the most expensive among all the official music video of Black Pink was the DDU-DDU-DDU-DDU, which is costly a whopping $16-18 million US dollars. That religious statue is also part of Lisa culture and it goes by a different name and the way they practice is different. Like Christmas is celebrated all over the world but how each country celebrate is different.

sure! but ganesha was literally born in india, indian mythology has influenced thailand culture a lot especially ramayana. but this still doesn't justify placing a hindu deity on the floor near her legs, in our culture the statues of god's are always placed high up, even wearing of footwears is banished in the temples so keeping the deity there was definitely very ignorant (altho they didn't meant to) but it resulted in hurting the emotions of many hindu fans as depicted lisa higher than ganesha (not her fault tho) the thing with YG is instead of actually releasing an apology and catering to the feelings of the supportive fans they pushed the matter under the rug and silently edited the video releasing no statement. (there was similar issue of african culture appropriation before but as always YG remained silent, probably because of the minority of the fans of certain culture)also as a hindu it was disheartening how many fans mocked and ridiculed our culture saying it wasn't something big and that she follows the same faith (lisa is christian btw atleast her mom is and let's say even if she was hindu and worshiped lord ganesha, the placement of statue was definitely very wrong). i love to listen their songs and the girls are dope too. just throwing some light on the actual issue and what was wrong. peace out. :)

I know Thailand have lots of Indian influence and indian civilization and culture is old. It's how people practice a religion in their own way. It's the same thing with almost every religion, culture and tradition change through time. You will know If you read history and some facts. We can't do anything about it. I know where you're coming from but I just wanted to mentioned some things if you're not aware. Have a gud day.

@@flymetotheup9904 i literally have double MA in history and sociology :) i know how culture is adopted from different regions and then modified by the masses according to their interpretation. i have studied this transmission of culture thoroughly in my university and having any lil knowledge about the religion and the practices of thailand, they are almost the same in worshipping especially when it comes to hindu deities (meaning the placement and using the deity as a prop in such manner is still not justified). i don't know from where buddhism came up (it was originated in india too btw...later siddhartha preached it to the whole world) i know my facts , thanks for your concern. have good day to you too.

That's what they are trying to do. They ain't intentionally trying to disrespect it. I mean she ain't gonna disrespect her own culture. I don't know much about religion but you said it's almost the same in worshipping yet some Thai on Twitter said differently. I have seen Hindu idols on many movies and songs. I am not justifying. I am trying to see it from different point of view. I don't get the reaction and backlash but I know this offend y'all in certain aspects or regards. I think they should never ever do anything related with Indian.

@@flymetotheup9904 The disrespectful situation was given when they put the statue on a lower, or floor position, as I read in some article, and that is why they had to remove that part, the interesting thing was that the Blackpink channel didn't have to remove the video to do so, so they didn't lose their views, and maybe it's not a great time to talk about another group but, in the JYP/Rain - Switch to me cover made by Chaeyoung and Dahyun from the Girl Group Twice (from JYPe) Dahyun appeared with a very similar hanbok (traditional Korean clothes) than the hanbok used by Jisoo in this MV, but they removed the entire video and loose their views to replace those scenes (because they were in many more screen time).

Thanks guys, loved all of your takes on the video! For a little backstory, *HOW YOU LIKE THAT* is about coming back from a dark place stronger than before. There are many Greek references in the video, a few examples are: The winged statue in the temple represents Nike, Goddess of Victory. Rosé (silver hair), in the beginning, is portraying Persephone, Goddess of Vegetation (plants, flowers) and the daughter of Zeus. One day while she was out gathering flowers, Hades, God of the Underworld, abducted her and dragged her down to the Underworld where she was forced to become his wife. The video shows her in her beautiful image, surrounded by flowers, as well as how she became, dirty and grey, staring up at the world through a hole in the Underworld. She was eventually allowed to return to the surface for part of the year, which is why we have Spring and Summer. Jennie (maroon dress) under the umbrellas is surrounded by dancers, their hands are "spiders", crawling over her face. Directly after this, under the burning umbrellas (they're rotating too, by the way), Jisoo is seated in a chair that is spiderlike in its design. The Trojan Horses at the end are a message from BLACKPINK to the world. They symbolize the fact that BLACKPINK, like the Greeks, will emerge and take over the global music world This was from their first album released worldwide). If you look at the last scene you will notice that on the inside of the dome it looks like there's an organic growth over parts of the ceiling. It's actually a map of the world that the group is going to dominate. You guys should also react to the "Making of" video for this MV. The filmmaker will especially love the multiple Arri Alex camera rigs that they run (you will notice them in all of their making of videos). They do some interesting setups to get the shots in the final production.

+ Selena Gomez asked for this song to be in "Hotel Transylvania" because she has been friends with Blackpink since their collab song * "Ice Cream" * + Blackpink was assembled with multilingual members (especially English) because the Entertainment company (YG) wanted a global group, more appealing to western market. + Coachella -Blackpink was the first kpop "group" in 2019 to perform, not just female + *Blackpink* & *BTS* collab would be a dream come true for multi-fans like myself and set the world on 🔥🔥 *BUT* due to "toxic" fans (not culture) that will never happen. Toxic fans of groups hate other groups, even toxic fans of a specific member in a group hating the rest of the group members. IT'S CRAZY For example, V of BTS accidentally followed Jennie Blackpink on a social media platform, immediately he unfollowed. Toxic fans began attacking Jennie leaving hate messages calling her a B#### and warning her to leave V alone. It wasn't her fault. This is what I appreciate about western artists, they follow and support each other openly

From different sources, especially rumor sites, a good amount of idols do date and some with each other but ofcourse they don't share it because backlash is almost certain. Even though the positive reactions are more, the negative ones leave greater impact so most avoid it. Some companies also ban dating for their idols, some are even kicked out of their company, so there's that. That's why shipping is sort of looked down in fandoms. But like, as a joke or just reffering to their dynamics as friends, shipping is very common, they even have ship names for every duo in a group, even other groups Also some would reveal their relationships when they're already getting married and no one even knew about them dating 😭😭

There's a show where current groups would go compete with each other like a survival show. They cover each other's songs and more! They have different groups that debut from different years some even just debuted the same year and some have been in the industry for years. It's called kingdom (for boy groups) and Queendom (for girl groups) so far they have 1 season complete for each and Queendom season 2 is airing now. The most popular groups haven't participated yet, and I think they never will 😭😭

I'm sure its been pointed out by someone else but Rose (usually has blonde hair) is actually Australian. She moved to Australia when she was very young and is the best singer in the group. :) Great reaction

6:40 - "K-pop" is "korean pop". So their language is korean. But they sing in english and there're japanese versions of their songs. -Jennie (6:20) is korean but grew up in NZ. Main rapper, can speak english, korean and basic japanese. -Jisoo (6:28) is the oldest member, she's from Korea. Visual and vocal, can speak korean, some chinese, basic japanese and not fluent [but good] english. -Rosé (6:36) is from New Zeland (but her family is korean), grew up in Australia, she's aussie. Main vocal, can speak english, korean, basic japanese. -Lisa (7:20) is the youngest member, she's from Thailand. Main dancer, can speak thai, english, korean, basic japanese and now, I guess almost fluent chinese. They started in 2016, and their fans are called "blinks".

Jisoo: speaks Korean and Japanese fluently, pretty good Mandarin and learning English. Lisa: speaks English, Thai, Korean and Japanese fluently, pretty decent Mandarin and proved that she know very basic Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malay and Tagalog

Bp is the kpop gg that brought me into kpop back in early 2020 but they’re very inactive in the industry. Usually, a kpop group makes one or two comebacks per year regardless of their popularity, age, agency or number of years in the industry. However it seems to me yge (their label) is an exception. They barely gave their any comebacks and many people believe it is a marketing strategy. They starve fans and even casual listeners to a point that no one can wait anymore. Then they give u something, so everyone becomes so thankful and hyped. Now, it’s been more than 1.5 years since their last comeback and their contract expires by 2023. Their senior group 2NE1, one of the most iconic kpop groups, only released two full albums before their disbandment. I’m worried if this is going to happen to bp also as they only have one full album. So far, there is still no news regarding their comeback. (I’m almost certain they will have one in 2022 I just don’t know when)

Japan is Kpop's #2 market. So all of the major Kpop groups make Japanese language MV's and perform in Japanese when on tour in Japan. What's interesting is the rap is in English. They currently have 5 MV's with 1 billion+ views. Their Coachella performance was named a Top Twenty performance is the 20 years of Coachella.

yes it would be amazing but it would be so hard to fit 11 people into a song and make it fair for everyone. i can already see lisa fans hating on v for getting one line more and so on. and even if they did smaller groups the amount of hate will be anonymous i think it will overshadowing the song itself i think big hit and YG knows it but i have notice that they are having a deal/arrangement. first bts have an anthology album before going solo than a mount later bp have a comeback. and they have to talk so that their music don´t overlap each other or else blinks and army will fight. they have arranged this carefully. also the busan bet thing. you have BTS holding a online concert for free that everyone can watch but at the same time BP are on tour in the US so people can´t help noticing them. but also the YG was printed back on bts cover of proof and Blackpink was written in j-hopes trailer for jack in the box. it turned out to be a different group but still they know how to spread the news silently it´s very subtle that only serious fans will notice

I would say idols not dating (aka... dating in secret) has multiple reasons behind it. 1. One reason that Korean fans like to give a lot is that they feel particularly in an idol's early career they should be focusing on their work/fans without distractions. There are some older idols who are dating like Joy from Red Velvet. She's dating an R&B artist by the name of Crush, and everyone is fine with it. 2. Another problem that most fans will deny is an issue is just flat out jealousy. It's not that the fans believe they have a chance with a kpop idol, but they still don't want someone else to enjoy what they can't have kinda thing lol? I think for some fans it also breaks some kind of illusion? It's not as fun to hear a cute boy idol flirt with fans if you know he actually has a girlfriend. If anything it would make it seem like questionable behavior. 3. I think another thing that bugs some fans is the idea that an idol is using the money he/she made from fans buying albums/merch/going to concerts to date/buy things for their partner? Maybe a "I supported your career so you could buy yourself or your family nice things, not some girl/boy." Which of course is ridiculous and entitled. It feeds back into the jealousy thing I think. 4. Privacy. It's better to date quietly than to deal with messy public break ups. The fans won't harass anyone either. Fun Fact: For a short while, Jennie from Blackpink dated Kai from EXO. We only know that because they were caught by a news outlet though.

it s very rare especially for the last 2 generations of kpop to make official collabs. The market is very competitive ,they are from different companies and the fans especially blinks and army's (some of them ) don't get along at all plus people that ship them together, it's impossible to have a collab. But we all know that it would break the internet if that ever happens :)) . They do react to each other when they are attending award shows and everything and u can see videos of bts jamming to blackpink songs and vice versa . Honestly the fans made it impossible for them to ever interact on camera sadly especially boy groups towards girl groups. The only collabs that are possible with both genders let s say on the same stage are on certain award shows when they gather a member from each group and have like a dance moment or smth

I think the backlash about BTS and blackpink dating is because so many fans have videos where they “ship” members together and analyze every single one of their interactions (which by the way are basically them running into each other or sitting/standing next to each other at award shows ) that people are like please not this, don’t encourage those fans any more. Is just that for the most part it’s not made public and in particular BTS has not publicized any of their relationships (which I assume they have as they are adult men, yet even the fact that they do or don’t date is not known). It’s crazy how much content they have but yet the public still doesn’t know much about their public lives, which I respect. It’s amazing how they build this relationship with fans where you feel so connected to them, but still they are able to keep their lives as private as they want.

Idea, do initial MV reactions here for the music, production, lyrics, etc, and then do dance practice or live versions on lindsey channel focusing more on dance choreo's.
