The brothers’ Pipeline video makes me happy, pure and simple. There are other clips of this SRV & Double Trouble/Fabulous Thunderbirds concert. The two bands frequently toured together in the late ‘80s, and there are a few clips of the bands jamming together or Stevie sitting in with the Thunderbirds. Check out Stevie playing with the Thunderbirds on “The Crawl’ in 1983, the year Stevie released his first album, Texas Flood.

Yea it is surf music and it was a Dick Dale as a matter of fact Stevie made an appearance in the movie back to the beach where he was playing his self playing pipeline on stage with Dick Dale

I'm going to see Jimmie and his Tilt-a-Whirl Band at Antone's band on July 2 to celebrate 47 years of that club (in various locations to be sure). As usual he's got a mess of his friends coming as well so it should be a sweaty good time.

Now much was fun was that? It was always a crowd pleaser whenever they did this. Even with the out of tune guitar that does not look easy. Yes Pipeline was hugely popular when I was in HS and, having grown up in a beach town in California, I was a surfer as well. He and Jimmie finally got to make an album together and had a blast doing it. It is called Family Style and I listen to it a lot when I am in my car. Unfortunately it didn't get released until after Stevie's passing😔. It did win a Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues Album when it came out. The brothers wrote or co-wrote most of the songs. There is one song in particular called Tick Tock which is particularly poignant today. Thanks for this today Justin✌️💙‼️

Justin, not sure how much other Chicago tunes you're familiar with other than the "Poem 58" video you viewed at my suggestion, but the "25 or 6 to 4" video live from Tanglewood is definitely worth a look at as Terry Kath is also a beast on the guitar as praised by Jimi Hendrix.
