Focus was supposed to be the lead single for Dangerous Woman when it was called Moonlight but most of the album got scraped except for like Moonlight, Be Alright and Let Me Love You, Focus just stayed as like a promotional single for Dangerous Woman while not being on the actual album e.e

I know that you guys expected killer high notes and the usual Ariana sound, but this album is much more about bringing out cool harmonies and chord progressions (particularly using more r&b progressions and layering her voice...) I think you really have to be into that particular style to enjoy the majority of the album, but I do think she gives everyone a couple of classic Ariana pop hits too!

Honestly I think I was just expecting to hear her usual type of songs and usually my favorite songs of hers are her singles and her ballads or her more jazzy type songs like Jason’s Song and Greedy. Now I’ve really warmed to the album more cause I’m listening to it daily it was just the initial shock of not hearing her typical pop songs. Loved the layering of harmonies and the cute lil adlibs ❤️

y’all kind of annoy me tbh rem was a complete BANGER so was goodnight n go. all of them were but the standards you had were so high from previous albums. you try to record 4 albums and make *ALL* your fans happy

Sorry we annoyed you of course that wasn’t our intention but everyone has different taste. Now that I’ve had more time to listen to the album I absolutely adoreee goodnight n go, honestly in my top 3 songs of this album. Personally songs like R.E.M aren’t songs I normally listen to, as I said I’m more into ballads or more poppy songs than rnb and our expectations were high because she’s ariana Grande and she’s absolutely insane and all her singles top the charts, we were just expecting some kind of ballad of power house kind of song to be her favorite because of the way all her singles usually have super high falsettos or runs like Side to Side and Problem.
