I've probably tried at least 100 Anki Addons by now. Doing so I've found a couple of Addons that actually make a difference in my studying. The right add-ons can optimize your studying and everyone wants that right? I hope you find this video helpful!

First of all thanks a lot for your videos! A useful tip for Image Occlusion: You can multi-select fields and group them using the G key. Next, you can select 'Hide One, Guess One' and you will get one card for each group, hiding only one of the groups. Thanks a lot for your videos! They are really helpful and also nicely edited.

You have inspired me to really use Anki. I’ve known about it for years but never used it. I’ve learned so much with your videos. Thank you thank you thank you! The only downside is O haven’t found many anki premade decks to study in spanish. I don’t mind learning in english, it is just a bit harder.

Thanks for the great video outlining these add-ons! I hadn't used any and I found ANKI a massive chore (even more when I'm trying to make new cards and build subcategories on them). Just an FYI, I learned this while working at a nuclear plant. When dictating numbers, it's better to chunk them into 3 digits and give a slight pause between them. That way the listener is better able to decipher and understand the number in real-time. (similar to how you chunk numbers into 3-4 for phone numbers, etc.) I had to pause the video to grab the numbers several times to grab the codes. Can't wait to learn more about more effective use of ANKI, thanks again.

Great video Zach! Thanks for the tips. I've just started using Anki for step 1 preparation and I already feel like im learning better. I just had a question for the true retention add-on. It's been 2 days im using Anki and im slowly releasing a couple of cards each day depending on my lectures, but I can't see the stats in True Retention (its N/A). Any ideas?

Hi Zach, could you share which Anki version you are using? Some add-ons are not compatible with the latest version. And also, the user interface of the latest version is different.

I found occlude image very good especislly for memorising diagrams which i previously had to use snipping tool and pen to cover the words which wasted a lot of time. Thankd

How to randomize NEW cards in all subdecks? (ANKI 2.1.49) I am currently on Anking 2.1.49 and using Zanki decks. Now I think Hoochie adds-on aren't available to this Anki version and When I click on the main parent deck "Zanki" I will see new cards from Biochemistry first because that is the first subdeck. Is there a way to get new cards from ALL subdecks randomized?

Thanks for your work, Zach! the amboss add-on doesn't show up in a side bar for me. If I click the underlined amboss entry safari opens and I can browse amboss. But not the way it is shown in the video :/ anyone having the same issue?

Hey sorry to hear it's not working, someone else had a similar issue and contacted amboss, have you tried downloading it through this link (version: 0.2.0) www.amboss.com/us/anki-amboss?hp=header Also make sure you have the most recent version of Anki installed (version 2.1.35): apps.ankiweb.net/

@@ZachHighley yeah, the amboss viewer opens with the linked version of the add-on, thank you! Unfortunately I don't have access to amboss library using this version. Guess it's an issue of german amboss version. We are provided with amboss licenses by university, and I think these licenses are working properly only with the german edition of amboss add-on :/ Thank you for caring!

Anki versions 2.1.41 and up now ship with a native version of hierarchical tags. I suggest upgrading to the latest version (currently 2.1.49) and disabling or deleting the Hierarchical Tags add-on.

The functionality of this add-on has been implemented in Anki v2.1.41. The addon is obsolete !!!

Great video but the code you gave for Advanced Browser is the same you gave for Pop-Up Browser and the same you gave for True Retention. Turns out it's right for True Retention and wrong for the other two. Still great vid, great content, Like and Subscribe!!
