At 73 I'm such a beginner trying to catch up! I've always cleansed and moisturized of course, but the art of improving what I have has long alluded me. I've learned so much, and I can tell you really care enough to teach well. This video is just what I needed because for me, foundation makes me feel (and probably look) like a painted doll! Easier alternatives are great to learn about. Thank you for encouraging an old gal to be "fierce" and confident. LOL

@@angelaharris1112 Well, I'M 65 OK genetics are good except around my eyes and I hate that I can't do eye makeup however minimally ... last 3 yrs did start and maintained skin care routine nothing elaborate; that helped. My skin even at this age is combination so avoid anything greasy; have ultralight sunscreen and haven't tried a BB cream but went back to my youth and used a minimal amount of a light Clinique foundation applied with a brush which takes 2 minutes and it cheers me up immensely!!!

My very first tinted moisturizer was from Merle Norman studio! My friend worked there 20+ years ago and it was my first high end product I ever purchased. I loved it because back then, drug store make up was not as good as it was today, so I used to mix one drop of tinted moisturizer and one drop of Maybelline foundation and it was perfect for me back then!

I;m goofing off today and wrote what I thought a helpful skin care routine for mature skin then the phone rang didn't press send and now I am exhausted :) LOVE your channel. Between my Mighty Mouse dog and your exuberance it's hard to feel low for very long. So so appreciate it. In the morning I found a supersheer sunscreen broad spectrum that doubles as moisturizer Vichy 50 ultralight which is perfect for combination skin like mine ... and a great makeup primer. I went back to my teens and when wearing foundation use another superlight foundation from Clinique ... still a good label and it also has 15 SPF and applied with a brush yes natural. HOWEVER am vr interested in BB creams and will follow up tx again!!!

I grew up with someone at school; we met when we were 15. 65 still best friends. My friend Anne-Marie was/is the definition of beautiful, just as is Nikol. Annie's been married 3 times; really close to her son; she is a brilliant architect grew up with lots of brothers who didn't, like strangers, 'look past her at her beauty'. As a teenager I remember thinking beauty was a huge asset. I look great; my Dad was as charismatic as Sean Connery and got their eyebrows, the only thing I share with Nikol. That kind of beauty is a blessing and a curse. Now am truly glad I escaped it! And yes love her channel!

Love this video Nikol 🎀💖 Thank you for these options I am not a foundation lady. I wanted to make a product suggestion that I recently stumbled upon. The Boots No. 7 Foundation Drops. The are available at Target and Walgreens. I love them because they can be used in your own personal sunscreen moisturizer , primer, or moisturizer 🧴. You control the coverage with 1-3 drops and they are fragrance free for sensitive skin. I’ve been using these when I do need a bit of color. Use them in anything it’s a customizable solution to use your own favorite skin products for your own customized coverage. Just a thought, U had to pass the secret on 🥰💖have a beautiful week pretty lady !!! Xo !

Hi Nikol, love your videos and aesthetic. What undertone is your complexion? It would help me to judge the colors that you use for yourself & whether they would work for me. I need absolute neutral (warms make me look sallow, cools make me look ashen) and it is so hard to judge makeup undertones. Why don’t companies designate W, C, N for us ?- I’m sure they know when they design their color ranges. Thank you!

I have come to dislike foundation and rarely wear it. It started when I had to wear a white lab coat at work and then I would go to martial arts practice in a white uniform. Getting foundation all over it looked so gross. And now I live in a part of SoCal that's super hot much of the year (not to mention working from home and doing less socializing with the pandemic). So I switched to foundation alternatives. I like mixing the L'Oreal Lumi Glotion in with my moisturizer and can do the same with the Trinny London BFF or the Charlotte Tilbury Healthy Glow tinted moisturizer. On their own they are usually too much, unless it's the height of summer. I'm interested in checking out a bunch of these products in your video. Thank you!!!

You just lift me up at the end of my day, I feel so good afterwards. At 64, I decided it was time to start wearing foundation. Your tips and products are outstanding. I purchased your brush kit, no redness, just peachy and eye primer. I love these products! I use them daily and have been using the Maybeline foundation you recommended and love it. Well not so sure I’m on the no make train...not particularly on board with that idea and I have almost perfect skin...but just being a bit older we still have things that do look better covered a bit but in a correct way.....so instead of foundation I use a skin tint....and I love a tinted sunscreen....it truly looks beautiful but like your own skin.....and most of us do need some sort of concealer or or color correction under the eyes....anyway it’s just view of things.

@@angel12boucher17 I have been a holistic master esthetician for over 36 years( I have three holistic skin care salons )and I can tell you the minute I take a client off of foundation and concealer their skin improves. Hi Peaches! I read your comment about taking clients off foundation and I agree. Since this masking mandate I quit using foundation (what was the point?) and my skin improved to touch. While I have some age spots, I find a little powder does the trick. I guess I took it for granted that my skin would stay even toned. Other people have told me my skin looked smooth, but I could feel a different texture than I do now. So Much Better. I've never been a super user of make-up (mostly because I don't know how), so I am learning here. I am enjoying Nikol's channel as well!

A newbie... love your hair, and your in depth descriptive videos. At 66 (67 in August) I need to get my skin to the place where I can use the products you demonstrated in this video. I don't know where to begin.. will definitely look at your video collection per your suggestion. I wore tons of makeup, usually sleeping in it, washing my face in the morning with either whatever hand soap was at the sink or noxema, and put my makeup for the day back on. Never wore sunscreen, was an advocate in the 70's and 80's of the baby oil, silver reflective thingy for that Hawaiian tropic look tan... oh yes, we used some quick self tanner under it the first two days... ugh. If you can recommend the best 'first' starting place video from your vast selection.. that would be great. So glad I found you! A new fan.

I love these ideas I use a lot of these ideas already....but I do want to say if we concentrate more on beautiful healthy youthful skin you can almost put anything on you skin and still have it look fabulous...most women I find by my age at 53 don’t or haven’t taken care of their skin or even used a really good SPF through the years...so have issues with their skin by this point...so I would say really get on some retinol...and an chemical exfoliant...a really high quality vitamin c and we can really make the skin look better over a little time...so it then becomes less of an issue when you use less products on the skin..

Ok. I’m going gray again after giving up a cpl years ago. It was a mistake to cut my hair short because it just looked like an SOS pad. I need to spiff up more overall & not rely on fake brown hair. Super sensitive skin renders makeup almost impossible

Try Australian Gold botanical face sunscreen SPF 50. It comes in 2 tints, which I mix together to get the color I want. This is a mineral sunscreen with no white tinge that stays on until you take it off. It is also not greasy looking, but gives a nice matte appearance. You can order from Amazon, although I think they just carry the lighter tone, or directly from Australian Gold.

I use Australian Gold spf 50 and really like it. Use it as a base layer for makeup. Plus its very affordable at $11. If you have oily skin you may be able to use it alone. Since my skin is combo plus I'm 63 (so getting a bit drier) it's necessary to apply moisturizer first. I use the Cerave pm which is lightweight and works great.

Hey Nikol!! Can you pleeeeeeeeease do a video on the Chanel Lea Beiges cream bronzer in the big pot? I’ve wanted to try it for so long but it scares me 🤣 on top of foundation surely it moves everything? Do you stipple it in? Use it before foundation? I need answers 🤣🤣🤣 thank you!! Xx

I have it and use it with a very stiff brush and it blends so nicely. Chanel have reformulated it and the newer one contains coconut oil which can be problematic for some but others say the newer formula is way better.

Do you think lash extensions are bad for the eyelashes or is it better to apply a false lash ? I am looking to make myself feel better with the gray
@evelynbaron2004

My sister tried lash extensions because she has a video channel but after 6 months her real lashes were kaput. Equally with the natural false eyelashes Nikol uses; they are beautiful but I am still nervous. Glad you wrote; was going to ask her about the magnetic lashes with the strip ... who knows. Meanwhile I've been using lash and brow serum not the highest rating (Liason) but my eyebrows were back in a month!!!!!! With lashes have to be careful to clean eyelids etc.; only bothered with it for a month haven't seen huge difference but some.

At about 4:50 when she applies the Fiercly Smooth, she switches fingers so it appears less dark. At 4:59, you can see the product residue on her initial application finger. Why the slight of hand? Does it really go on too dark? Just saying...

There are multiple videos showing me applying the Fiercely Smooth Tinted to myself and to my models I have on my channel. There are no secrets to my application I show the color in multiple videos and how it literally disappears and leaves a soft golden glow if that’s what you are looking for under your makeup. It also comes in clear.
