Also fits in the Aftermath timeline period quite well. Truce at Bakura feels a little dated by comparison to some others.

Quick note about the Thrawn Trilogy audiobooks. The Abridged versions are narrated by Anthony Daniels and Dennis Lawson: That's Right: C3PO and Wedge Antilles.

Also Chronologically the Rogue Squadron comics take place between Bakura and the Rogue Squadron novel, publishing order wise they were first printed between the Bacta War and Wraith Squadron and Wraith Squadron partially picks up plot points from the comics very well. Also the Wraith books are just plain better than the Rogue ones, Stackpole is good, he's still in the "Holy Trinity" of 90s SW EU authors, but Aaron Allston's just better. (Yub Yub commander Rest in peace.)

Star wars is fictional. You could write your own book that is part of your own canon. Everybody can have their own canon they like the most. My canon is the old canon that is now eu combined with rogue one

I go back and listen to the Sabak game at least 1 a month. There is a intensity to those chapters I find cautionary. The mood of the room be special.

I, Jedi, and the Xwing books are great for Corran Horn backstory on his pre Jedi/padawan days. Tales of the empire has some pretty good stuff. I dug tales from Jabbas Palace as well (I believe its got Boba Fetts awesome short story of his time abd escape from the Sarlaac Pit). One of the big overarching stories in the whole E.U. is Han and Leias romance. Shadows of the empire and courtship of princess leia are pretty good starters for that. Plus it plants the seed for their Children. Each pre Disney print of an E.U. Novel has a basic chronology printed in that point in time of print. I couldnt tell you about the "legends" branded prints. I refuse to touch them. But the older editions also give nice little previews to other novels as well

Shadows of the Empire is also pretty good, and I quite liked Shadows of Mindor.

Most of the New Jedi Order/Vong books are fine, except maybe Balance Point, Dark Journey and the Force Heretic trilogy. Those are a bit weaker.

My favourites were Jedi Eclipse (not always liked) Star by Star, the Enemy Lines books (Wedge ftw) and the finale, Unifying Force.

Not forgetting Traitor, and probably Destiny's Way too.

I like most of Matthew Stover's books. Aaron Allston's are a ton of fun, and Zhan is always a class act. Shadows of the Empire is also very decent.

Chris sonofPear oh definitely, the Rouge and Wraith squadron books are amazing and just behind them I liked the Republic commando books as well. I still have yet to read shadows of the empire though.

It has a hint of cheese, but still a fun read.
