What is your opinion on the current reports of defects regarding the left stick grinding and causing damage to the stick itself also even with the control sticks the way that they're built people are still getting stick drift, as well as charging issues random disconnects and firmware that doesn't seem to want to update on the dongle or the controller. Seems I was smart enough to wait, because it seems like turtle Beach should have left this in the oven for a while as it seems more than a little underdone

Totally agree, I alwsys user higher sticks as I have large hands and the lower stick height always causes fatigue in both my thumbs.

Hi I'm new to gaming in general I have a question so you can set the settings settings with the software deadzone etc does this conflict with the in game settings like I plays rust console would it use the setting I the game that are set or the controller or should I set rust to default and hope the game listens to the pad or does the pad ignir in game settings sorry noob as I say

Good luck with these controllers. My left stick had gouges in the plastic from rubbing on the anti-friction rings with only a few hours of use and made the thumb stick feel like it was grinding when I moved it along the top edge. This shouldn't happen to a $200 controller especially with such light use. I wanted to love this, but the fact they used shitty plastics for the thumb sticks/anti-friction rings is beyond me. Mine went back yesterday.

I saw the negative reviews on this controller. But I also saw the same negative reviews about the Elite Series 2 and all the problems people had with stick drift or the fact they are on their 3rd elite 2, so a year ago I chose to chance it , and I went ahead and bout the elite series 2 and I have not had any issues with stick drift and I am still on my first elite series 2 controller even after 1 year of usage and it is still going strong and is still thus far the best controller I have ever owned and used. So given just as I did a year ago when I bought the Elite Series 2, I decided to chance it again and find out for myself so I pulled the trigger and bought these turtle stealth ultra performance praying that I get the same result and satisfaction as I did when I bought the Elite Series 2. $200 is alot but worth it if it works out and turns out to be just as good if not better than the Elite Series 2. Time will tell.

I have had mine for a couple of days and really wish they made a version without the screen in the middle. Avoid changing any control settings in game with its command center because it will leave your controller unusable for a good 10 seconds

simple fix they could add a small lock button icon in some odd place on the screen that freezes everything once enabled

i think the one thing that the reviewers haven't answered for me, is that to get the audio controls via controllers.. do you have to the headset plugged into the controller, or do you get the controllers if a headset is paired to the xbox regardless if it's wired or wireless? i'd really only see getting ths for the chat/volume controls, but i only use wireless headsets...

I have the stealth ultra and the stealth pro headset. The audio controls on the ultra are for headphones connected to the controller via the 3.5mm jack.

The audio controls only work with a wired headset. A wireless headset most likely has a USB stick that plugs into your Xbox, there's not a way for a controller to connect to something like that. Once again, audio adjustments are only available with a wired headset. I'm bummed too because I believe wireless headsets are superior and the only kind of headsets I use. I don't like wired headsets.

There's no dongle needed for the wireless headsets. They use Xbox wifi just lite a controller. And you can see the volume/mixer dials via the settings on the Xbox menu, you just can't adjust them there...(which is a lil weird) So it would have made sense to me if the controller could adjust those settings, just as the headsets can.

To anyone who has used one of these, I have always enjoyed the paddles on the elite controller. I like how long they are since I have shovel hands so finding the paddles is pretty easy. It's kind of a weird question but considering the price I am wondering if anyonenhas made the switch to the stealth ultra and has anything good or bad to say about the buttons on the bottom of it vs the paddles on the elite?

I have both. I don't have an issue with the paddles on the Turtle and I thought I would too. The issue I do have is the home two buttons that the Elite controllers have on the Turtle. The Turtles two buttons are very hard to access compared to the Elites and that's an issue in game play especially in COD MW3 attempting to access the map or main menus for Xblox - to quit out.

@WhiteDoberman That is definitely good to know. I can imagine that being a problem in Hunt Showdown on my Xbox. The map button is the same on that game as many others, and you are in and out of your map all the time

@@Jacksonace1 The battery is in realty about half their promise too and that's with the vibration off and the colors down in brightness. Now I use it will the colors off and the screen at 50% only. Still no where near the Elite controller battery life.

@WhiteDoberman tbh part of the reason I am looking into it is to be able to hook my dexcom sensor to it, so it may be worth it just for that. But the battery may be a problem down the road, if it's short now it will only get shorter as it gets older

@@Jacksonace1 the Left Button on the new controller now only works on the very top part of the button. This is the LB not the trigger or joy stick. I reached out to Turtle for an exchange and there is a technical support CS you have to contact. Sales (which is what is listed on the warranty and website) will appartently accept the return for refund. Time will tell, but there's no way I'd recommend the controller vs the Elite now.

This is possible if controller is updated to the latest firmware. I think the sticks are listed as LSB or RSB.

Took it back afteer 2 days... Any game you need to use the "menu" button, enjoy trying to stretch yoru thumb over the joystick to get to it. Also, the under buttons are way too easy to accidently push.

What about the updates for controller? Had seen in other comments it makes the controller unusable. Have they fixed that yet. If they do i will definitely get this over elite series

Not sure if you refer to the ability to map control stick buttons to the back buttons but yes, this is now possible after the firmware update. The control centre 2 app didn’t save all the settings but the screen / menus are very intuitive to use and quick to set up.

It looks nice, the back button placement seems really good and it is the layout that I like. Turtle Beach's audio tuning is usually good and this is a great feature to have! No drift sticks? GREAT! Micro switched buttons? VERY NICE! $200, is a lot but not prohibitively expensive if the controller is good and durable. Multiformat? EVEN BETTER! It's great that it can be used on Android and PC too. However, no gyro? NO GYRO? Even if this is designed primarily for Xbox, we need gyro when connecting it to something else. It's 2023 not 1985! Steam Input supports gyro supremely well, higher end controllers needs a Switch Pro or PS4 modes for the gyro. Not only does Steam Input support it on PC, but more and more games support it natively too.

Xinput doesn't support gyro. It's up to Microsoft to add gyro support to xinput. Controller manufacturers can't do this themselves unless they use something like dinput or Nintendo switch mode.

@@honkingmemecat1925 What are you talking about? I'm talking about the difference between a good and bad weaved cable. A lot of these cables are so stiff they might as well have a rubber or plastic coating on them.

@@OneRedKrakenyup I know exactly what you mean and I think we are in the minority. The more weaves and fibers, the more flexible. Most braided cords use less fiber count and less weaves and you get this super tough and stiff heavy cord. So to the guy above, yes, if it's a shitty burly paracord, I'd rather have a nappy but light plastic cord.

I had the turtle beach but returned it back to best buy. It's a cool controller but not worth the steep $200 price tag. I'm sticking with the elite 2 for the time being. Plus you can get the elite at best buy for $129 currently

I have both, and initially I was very close to return TBSU mostly because of the different feel to it. I was playing on elite 2 for over a year now, and some design solutions from TB were weird to me, however after couple of days this controller grew on me, to the point where I can honestly say that I will keep it. I like the click I like the sticks, back buttons which initially I was finding awkward are actually very good and easy to activate. Recent firmware update brought option to map L3 and R3 to the back buttons, I was playing with it and with the Division 2 where I have tone down dead zones for both sticks to zero and there was absolutely zero drift, controller feels lite which i like, precise which I really appreciate and it feels nice in my hands. All in all I will keep it, happy with the purchase.

Elite Controller is very bad . I had 3 Elites and all get strickdrift after 2-3 months and i play max. 15 - 20 hours a week . Also the response of the A Button is very bad . Now i have since Release the Turtle Beach Recon Controller feels a bit cheaper but had no issues. G7se is terrible . I have testet for a week and send it back . Sticks are wobbly also the Buttons feel cheap . The d-Pad is also terrible . So i ordered a Stealth Ultra to Upgrade my Recon 😃

😮Not all functions can be assigned to the lower buttons, which is a no-go. It gets even worse when headphones are connected to the 3.5 mm jack, the wireless transmission goes down the drain. This is not at all acceptable for the price

Very well fixing stick drift, but the buttons wear out. At 5 million presses, 2 years or less max, should have been at least good for 10 million clicks minimum, but suggest not always using the same button for shooting, very it and will extend the life of the buttons, as gamers tend to favour 1 button that wears out quicker than the rest. Bit liek car tires, want them to last longer you rotate them

Mine had the RT not working straight out the box. Even the calibration showed nothing like it didn’t exist. Cheaply made piece of trash. Sent it back and got a refund. The whole controller felt incredibly cheap with literally zero premium materials being used.
