Inspired, empowered and I have faith I'll feel 100% better than I did preoperatively. I am 10 days post op and feel way behind you. I'm an RN, 60 and in pretty good shape. At this point I need inspiration. More importantly, a video of someone like you. THANK YOU for the video, you're a great teacher.

It gets better. Every day. Just keep moving and as time passes by you will feel better. We are all different in how our bodies respond but we all have the ability to work hard. Stay positive. When the initial swelling goes away (3-4 weeks) it gets so much better.

I just had a hip done after 30 years of discomfort, limits on what I can do, pain. I've been stunned by the lack of emphasis on exercise, physical therapy BEFORE surgery. It was mentioned in passing by my surgeon, but in fairness to him, he knew that I was in the gym, able to lift weights, and was staying as active as I could. Maybe he just let it go because he knew that about me . . . but I don't think so. In none of the videos that I've seen on youtube has pre-surgery exercise been emphasized. Mentioned, but never emphasized. The muscles are all that hold the joint together . . . I went into surgery in good shape, with good leg strength, focused on all the hip related motions. Still, at two weeks, steady progress day to day, doing exercises that I see recommended for "week 6" . . . I'm just now, today, able to put full weight on the surgery leg. I tolerate pain well . . . I'm up and "walking" six to eight hours, doing chores. I cannot imagine what I'd be experiencing if I had not been in good physical condition. Exercise. Lift weights. Do all of the post-surgery exercises before surgery. Be strong.

Great video - especially since my Posterior minimally invasive surgery. is scheduled for the first week of October 2018. The top 5 list is exactly what I expect - especially the car. Oh - my right hip is the one being done. Any concerns of dislocation with the posterior approach, and any muscles cut during surgery ? Thanks !!!

Hi Goran. I am 52 and 2 weeks away from an anterior FHP. Thanks for your video and answering so many questions mate. that is really cool of you. What do you think about the idea of doing a water fast through the surgery and for 4-5 days after? My thought is it would help the body heal better from the trauma from the surgery since the body would not be processing food and the added benefit would be you would not have to sit down to eliminate.
@goran2324
@goran2324 6 жыл бұрын
I am not sure about that. I think you'll need all the energy and nutrients to help you get well. I also lost a bunch of weight from the muscle atrophy in my lower body. My legs and glutes felt like mush. My ass literally flattened out. So up to you... Don't over think it and don't over do the work after surgery. Everyone is different. Follow your doctors suggestions on everything and just keep moving as much as possible. I recovered very quickly but there were ups and downs and soreness and swelling. It's been 8 months from my left THR and 5 since my RTH and I feel so GREAT I can't even describe it to you. It was VERY worth the aches and pains. Good luck!

Thanks for this video! I had left anterior THR on May 7. I’m 62, but extremely active and did “CrossFit” like workouts 4 to 5 days a week. I have no direction from ortho other than “walk a lot.” Did your orthopedic surgeon give you the workouts and direction I see in this video? I would like to do more but don’t know how far to push it.
@goran2324
@goran2324 6 жыл бұрын
I did my own rehab. The gym in the video is a personal training facility and I've owned and operated it for about 25 years. If your scar is formed and your incision is fully healed your pain will be a great indicator of how hard to push it. I would give it about 6 weeks for the bone to fuse properly before I REALLY pushed it. Good luck.

Had left Hip replaced in July 2020 and my right Hip in August 2020 and have never felt better. as I've said already I was able to walk immediately after both replacements. I would add that most of my recovery happened with days and weeks of the surgeries, now that I'm coming up on one year I have leveled off. I still have mild tightness in each hip. I'm swimming, playing golf and play tennis.

I am a 24 year old female extreme athlete (parkour) and Exercise Science student, going to have a total hip replacement in about 6 months. Any suggestions for what to do to prepare and recovery specifically? I am working now to strengthen what I can before surgery. I plan on being able to run, break jump, climb, and use the hip as I normally would (again extreme sports/athletic parkour) after the replacement eventually after full recovery. As your recovering what suggestions would you give to someone like me going into this with this mindset. Everyone is different but knowledge is key.
@goran2324
@goran2324 7 жыл бұрын
You will be able to do EVERYTHING in due time. Sometimes we like to push things somewhat and by "we" I mean those of us who are willing to do whatever is necessary to recover quickly. Don't limit your self in how much you want to do but do give your body at least enough time to physically heal so you have no setbacks. You can do normal life like walking, sitting, standing and light exercise right away. You can go all out with anything that doesn't directly rely on your hip. But I think to go all out with your hip you have to let it heal and recover from the trauma of the surgery and then you have to recondition it. I think it will be anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks before you can do full blown sprints and jumps and that will depend on how you tolerate pain. I would get my muscles around my hip as strong as possible without doing any explosive movements before I started training again. You just want your muscles to be strong enough so they can absorb as much impact as possible before the hip joint is affected. So train hard right now if you can get past the pain. Nothing you can do now will change the fact that you will have a new hip. No matter how much more damage you do in the next six months your new hip will be the same as if you did the surgery today. Your glutes and quads will turn to relative mush in the 2-3 weeks post-op but they come back quick with some hard workouts. Squats will be much easier than lunges to do but I think lunges are more important. Just don't sweat it! Time flies I promise. I remember looking for info before my surgery and now it's been 3 months since. Btw, I'm getting my other hip done in 3 days. Ask away if I didn't answer your question or if you want specifics.

hi, Goran. did you have problems with sleeping on your back? I am due for wednesday (right hip replacement) and here in the Netherlands you have to sleep on your back during 2 weeks post-op. I am trying for weeks now but no result..
@goran2324
@goran2324 7 жыл бұрын
I just did my right hip about 20 days ago. I also slept on my back the first week and flipped on my stomach since. I sleep on my stomach normally. You wont be able to sleep on your side for about three weeks or more because of the swelling. My advice is to follow what your doctor tells you. I am not a guy who likes to take too many pills but I would advise you to take your pain medication on a regular basis. They say "get ahead of the pain". Good luck and let me know how it goes... P.S. Move as much as possible (walk and light rehab) and do not be afraid to take your pain pills.(just be aware to eat foods that make it easier to go to the bathroom. You will be constipated. OH, and make sure you have a high toilette seat with handles. It is very difficult to sit on the toilette.

Well thanks for the nice note... Are you having surgery soon? The more flexible you are the better for everything involved including socks and undies.(Unless you don't wear them) What meds is your doctor recommending for blood clots? They use compression devices for anti blood clotting along with the meds. Ask your surgeon about it.

I am 72 years of age, I had THR, I limp walked around the house on day 3, and walked 3 klm. on the same day with crutches. I did that every day, on week 3.5 I started cycling for 40 minutes, and kept that up. At week 6 I started back swimming and aqua jogging in the pool, at week 7, I was back in the gym doing exercise and light weights, no more than 24 kg I can cross my operated leg further up my thigh, than my unoperated leg, in a stretch that enables me to cut my own toe nails. What I don't do is any jumping or jogging, except in the pool, am 9.5 weeks post now and will go for a hike on the trails today. My personal journey shows me that you can steadily do things, including stretching, as long as it doesn't cause undue pain in your joints. By the way I was in extreme pain for 12 months before my operation, taking voltarin 75mg twice daily, and 6-8 paracetamol daily as well, I walked with crutches for 6 weeks before the op and worked out in the pool right up to the op. I think that was important to my recovery. I stopped all pain medication 10 days after the operation. Cheers

I was never completely pain free. However, the pain post surgery was not as bad as the constant pain and aches that I had before. My doctor said that mechanically I wasn't going to do any damage to the hip with reasonable and normal movement. So I moved as much as I could. I had pain and swelling but I kept working through it. I took one Norco the fist 4 or 5 days before I went to sleep so I could get some ZZZ's and once in a while after a full day of activity and it helped a great amount. I know every case is different so just be patient. It really does get better and easier. I think you should try to move as much as possible and then ice and take your pain meds. The thing is you are going to get very constipated if you rely on Norco too much so be ready for that. Good luck!

Great video Goran! I wish I had seen it before going into hospital as it's very inspiring. I turned 60 last January and I have been involved in martial arts, a spell in the Royal Marines and general fitness training since I was about 18. After reading all the literature the hospital gave me, highlighting all of the possible things that could go wrong I was wondering whether I had made the right decision to go ahead with the op. My hip had been getting progressively worse for the last 8-10 years and I think it could have been a lot worse if I had stopped working out. The consultant who advised me to have the op diagnosed hip dysplasia and considerable imbalance in my hips and although I could carry on life was extremely uncomfortable at times. There was also the longer term effect the imbalance would have on my body as other joints would suffer and I could be in a much worse state in 3-5 years time. I was discharged from hospital last Friday 01 September after a successful left THR. Rehab is going well. Got rid of the crutches on Tuesday 05 September and conquered the stairs today. I have been to the gym twice this week to carry out my physio which includes cycling and a range of strengthening and mobility exercises. When I'm not able to get to the gym I just practice walking around in my locality, going a bit further each day and then continue with the physio exercises. I have to say although there are inherent risks as with any surgery I would advise anyone given the chance to have their arthritic hip replaced to go ahead and do it, mainly because of the long term effect the mechanical imbalance it places on the body. just remember! The better condition you are in physically the better chance of successful surgery and quick recovery. Good luck!

Good luck to you also. I am in week 5 of the other hip replacement and life is pretty much normal. I am by no means 100% but normal every day activities are no problem at all. The great thing is that things are better and easier with each passing day. I completely agree with you that things are much easier when the body is in good shape. You may have small ups and downs but things do get easier with the passage of time. We will both be looking back on this in a few months and saying what a nice little diversion from the ordinary it was. BTW, don't hold back on the pain pils during those more difficult times. I did with the first hip and in in retrospect I see that there was no need to NOT take them. A few here and there would have only made the situation easier until time and healing took over. Hang tough, you'll be yomping with the other bootnecks in no time. LOL.

Thanks for making this video. I tore my labrum in a dirt bike crash and when I went to the doc found out I had congenital FAI which had caused premature arthritis in both hip joints. I am getting an anterior THR on the injured hip next week. My doctor is super conservative and recommends LYING down all day except for 20 min every 2 hours for like two entire weeks?!?!?! I have researched THR recovery time and pretty much had come to the conclusion that so much bed rest is completely unnecessary. Seeing your real live day to day progress was very inspiring and just what I needed. I also think your advice to ice, ice, ice is key. I am now super motivated to follow in your footsteps. I hope both your hips are still doing well. Thank you!

Hi Goran, Can you share what the condition of your hips were before your surgeries? Were you in constant pain or were you still active and working out (based on your video I assume the later...:)). I'm also 52 and scheduled for surgery with level 4 arthritis yet my pain level is tolerable. I'm still working out but have given up on jogging/running... I'm debating whether I should wait until I'm in more pain or just get it done now...
@goran2324
@goran2324 6 жыл бұрын
It was very similar for me. I had SEVERE arthritis in both for about 10 years. My lateral motion was very limited on both sides. I was ok if doing nothing but in pain after every activity. I did continue to work out and be active the whole time I would just have to go through 3 or 4 days of pain after any major movement involving the hips. My advice is this and it's shared by many, if your surgery is successful you will be so glad you did it. It's just my opinion but I would do it asap. Don't hesitate. You'll be limited for a few months but it is so worth it. Time flies and you'll be glad you did it. It's a little bit of pain and soreness but very manageable. Good luck.

Total was the best option for me. Take your time and recover at your own pace. In a few years you wont care if it took a few extra days. It wasn't all great for me either. I had my better days and those not as good. Been 5 months on my left and 2 on my right since my surgeries. I'm good but still not perfect. I don't expect to be 18 yrs old again but I'm going for it. (in my hips at least) I really believe that the harder you work on your strength and fitness the better you will be. I'm still improving every day. I expect to be feeling great in the future and I don't care how long it takes. I am however working hard for it. The great thing is that my hips feel SO much better than before. Hang tough and be reassured that every day that passes by you will feel better and better. If you have the time give me an update in how you feel soon. I'd like to hear whats going good and what not so much for you. (Like putting on your right sock... LOL) Good luck.

@goran2324 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I do own a gym. I did my own rehab. The in home PT came to my house the first day post op, put me thru some tests and released me that day. The hip replacement really was a new and cool experience for me. My only issue was and still is slight swelling directly around the incision. That is only due to the fact that I was and am able to do so much work so soon. I am 9 weeks post op now and have been back to normal life and doing regular workouts for a while. I'm doing my other hip in 4 weeks. I've been aware of the sock and shoe tips. I was just trying to get back to my normal way of putting them on asap. Either way any issues around this surgery have been minor and very temporary. Time passes by quickly and every day has been better and better. Did you have the surgery or are you debating it?

I am scheduled for left THR anterior on Juoly 14. I have not been able to exercise in a while I also have a full thickness acetabulum tear of the cartilage in there and when that happened a year ago I felt like I started walking like a pregnant person with my stomach huge...(which it isn't) but I attribute that to my psoas muscles contracting and even PT was not able to release them...I believe after the hip replacement I will be able to go through PT and they will be able to finally lengthen back out when they are finally not fighting to keep my hip from dislocating. I also have chronically contracted abductors that will likely cooperate after not having to support the hip. Your video is so inspiring at getting back into moving again!

@goran2324
@goran2324 4 жыл бұрын
No. The muscles are moved apart by hand and special tools. The piriformis is cut at the base to get access but stitched back immediately after with no ill effects. Very similar to anterior minimally invasive but I understand there is less bleeding and less risk of nerve damage with posterior. It worked out great for me both times.

I remember watching this video a while ago thinking yes this is going to be me all excited about my second hip replacement but as it turned out I had the biggest fibromyalgia flear up right after my surgery that I was in so much pain I was put on the same painkillers as a cancer patient for the first 5 days. I couldn’t move my leg at all for the first week either as the stiffness went throughout my whole right leg down to my toes. I’ve just watched this video again feeling positive and even though I may have a slow start I know it’s not forever. I also was very fit and would train 6 hours a week but had to give up for 7 months before my surgery as it became impossible to train from pain. I can’t wait to get back in the gym. Don’t give up, everyone is different but we will all get there.

Other hip done. Pretty much same results. My lateral flexibility sucked before. I could hardly spread my legs out. Now its awesome. So much better. I had no restrictions except running. All the things you shouldn't do you wont be able to any way. I was out of the hospital in a few hours after surgery. The key is to keep moving. Take your pain meds and keep active. Don't just sit around. Don't sweat it. Time will pass. You'll be uncomfortable for a while and then you'll be glad you did it. Good Luck.

Ok guys, I am 3 days short of the 5 week mark. The first 7 or 8 days were pretty difficult for me, but on the 10th day when I woke up it felt like I had jumped ahead a full week. Overnight the pain had reduced considerably and I was able to walk unassisted (no cane) after that. I have made lots of progress since and at this point the only swelling I have is a section of my glute that was separated during surgery. In the beginning, because of swollen and traumatized muscles, your leg will feel much longer than the other one. It's actually quite disturbing to lock your knee on the operated side and have it raise the heel of your foot on the good side right off the floor. This is temporary and goes away with the swelling. It also may come and go as you become more active and you might get a little swelling toward the end of the day. I had the posterior approach with no cement or screws. My prosthesis is entirely "press-fit", titanium and ceramic hybrid. My incision was glued. No staples or top stitches. At least with my type of implant, the bone has to grow into it to secure it completely. Over doing things like exercise in the beginning actually slows this process down with my type of implant. I appreciate your video and taking the time to share your progress. I wish my first week was a bit more like yours, and I also wish I had killer abs like you as well. Best Regards my friend.

No problem. Just have realistic expectations. There is some discomfort and swelling but the video is pretty spot on. Get yourself one of those high toilets. If they seem pricey to you, you can improvise with a walker and a cushioned seat, but that was the biggest challenge. I hope you have a helper for the first few days. With left hip I was driving in 2 or 3 days. Driving is not a problem. It's the getting in and out of the car that's a little difficult. They also don't want you driving because of the narcotics in the pain meds. I just didn't take them after the first couple of days. You really don't NEED them, but I'll tell you they DEFINITELY make everything better. Driving or rather sitting in the car seat became tougher in the second week. Because you can do so much so soon, I just went "normal life" right away. That is a double edged sword. It's good to move around as much as you can but all that movement produces swelling and soreness and you will be sore all around your incision. When the edge of your car seat is putting pressure on that spot it gets uncomfortable. I improvised a pad on which I sat with the middle of my butt (think bicycle seat), took the pressure of the left butt cheek and that helped. The thing is every day things got exponentially better. By week three you'll be cruising (car and life). So get through that first week and don't over think the short term. Time flies and this will all be in the past soon and you WILL be so glad you did this.

Goran Today I marked my 4th day since my R anterior hip replacement. I want to express my gratitude to you again for posting your video. I watched your video at least once a day for the entire 3 weeks prior to my operation, using it as a source of inspiration and strength. My wife would laugh when she would hear your sound track! For others out there finding your site as I did, I would like to give some advice. First, optimize your pre-op conditioning. Work out as much as you can tolerate to build your body prior to the surgery. This will be a savings account from which you can withdraw during your healing. Second, choose your surgeon AND the technique wisely. You’d rather be just a number among many patients to a busy surgeon then seek a great bedside manner belonging to an inexperienced operator. I would further recommend, as have others, ONLY the minimally invasive anterior hip surgery. With less cutting/tissue destruction there is much less need for healing and healing time. Third, this site also attracted many naysayers. What Goran achieved is indeed possible and not fictitious. He was only 52 and in superb shape. One way to level the playing field is to again, have the anterior approach. Goran had the posterior which involved muscle cutting. I will not elaborate on my recovery as am only at day 4. Suffice to say that I walked 40 minutes today and do indeed go up and down stairs as Goran did on day 6. I have never used a cane. Wishing all of you the very best

Hey Bill. Congrats. Just so you know, you will have a few ups and downs. If you expect them and you know they're coming it will be a piece of cake. The entire recovery is not exactly and always like the parts in the video but I have to tell you it was pretty close. I truly do not understand the doubters except for the fact that I know they will always be around. Everyone that I know gets a good chuckle every time I tell them about a negative comment on here. As you may know I now have both of my hips replaced( 9 months and 6 months ) and I truly feel great. I still get aches after a hard leg workout but they go away. I think it's a fair trade off for the muscle and strength gain. One final thing. I had the newer minimally invasive posterior surgery. It is a far cry from the older (muscle cutting) one. It also involved separating the muscle instead of cutting and the only thing that is cut is the piriformis (for access) which is immediately repaired upon exit. Move as much as you can but with the understanding that everyone is different and we all move at our own pace. Thank you for the civil comment. I think it will also help someone else out there some day. Please leave an update in the future as I know I and many others would be interested to read about your progress. Thanks again and good luck.

I'm 37 years old and a male. I was told my left hip needs to be replaced. I read too much about the surgery and now I'm utterly terrified about everything that's involved. How painful is the surgery? When I wake up from the surgery, will I feel intense pain or do the painkillers pretty much cancel it out? How long does the pain generally last? How about pre-op preperation? For instance, how much does the epidural hurt? The epidural really scares me, and what are the chances of my spine/back getting messed up from it? How much does the cathedir hurt? Can they put it in when I'm under anesthesia? If so how much does it hurt coming out? I'm very into bodybuilding and I'm worried that with all the time it takes to recover, that I will become fat and loose all the muscle/strength I've built thus far... How long does it take to recover to the point where I can walk around normal? Also, how long does it take for someone to recover to the point that they can go back in the gym and start weight lifting again? Can I even lift heavy weights again, or will I no longer be able to do that and things like uphill hiking, cycling, martial arts? If someone who had the surgery and who has experience with all this can please let me know the answers to my questions I would be very grateful. I'm avoiding the surgery because I'm so scared about everything involved, but I can no longer walk properly and have a terrible limp, and the pain is stopping me from living my life and doing all the activities I love.

My question is how long after he did all his pop his hip? There is no way you’re bending and doing it without worrying about popping your hip out. I had hip replacement surgery three weeks ago and I’m still not allowed to bend unless my legs are spread and feet out. And I have an enhanced hip replacement so it shouldn’t pop out but I still have to be careful. I called BS on this guy.

Hi Goran! i'm 37 yrs old. I have inspired a lot after watching this video and also feeling jealous to see your rapid recovery. Hope you are doing fine after second hip replacement. I had THR in my right leg and implanted deltamotion ceramic hip and it's 6 weeks now after surgery. Recently I have started walking without support and joined my work. But when I walk slowly i'm limping on operating leg side. Dr said both leg are equal and it will be ok when I'll do regular activities. Should I do any specific exercise to recover from limping? Dr said I can do everything with this implant after recovery. If you could suggest me some exercise to stronger my hip muscle and also some exercise I can do from 6-12 weeks it would be a great help. Now I can seat straightly. Can I use exercise cycle now to increase mobility of my right hip? Thanks n TC

Thanks for your words. I think being active and moving is the key to a fast recovery. You don't have to be as fast as I was in the video but don't be afraid to push your self a little. I think after 6 weeks you can do anything you want. The more you do the more swelling and soreness you might have but it will also get you stronger. My favorite exercises are the ones in the video. (Squats while holding on to something and step ups). By the way its been 5 weeks after my second hip replacement and everything is progressing about the same as the first one. Just get up and move! Good luck. Either way in 2 or 3 months it will all be much better. Be patient and work hard.

I am now into my third week out of hospital after my left THR. I had physio the same day as I had the operation, doing mobility exercises in the hospital. saw an indepedant physio two days ago and she saw I was walking with a small limp. Although it's early days since the operation and the hip is still quite stiff she coached me into walking properly by explaining what was happening and how I could correct the limp as she said if I carried on I could develop a permanent limp. I was using an exercise cycle twice a day from the day after my operation took place and going through a series of exercises to increase mobility and strength. I'm still doing all of the cycling, exercises and walks up to 1-2 miles a day. If you can get some advice from a qualified physiotherapist they might be able to help you correct your limp also. Good luck!

I don't know if you'll see this comment and question goran2324. You have been a big inspiration to me as I prepare to undergo hip replacement. Question: Did you ever -- and if so, to what extent -- use a walker or cane after surgery?
@goran2324
@goran2324 4 жыл бұрын
They made me use a wheel chair out of the hospital. I didn't know what to expect so I tried using a walker from the car to the door of my house. I found it unnecessary. I put my walker around the toilet so I could lower myself unto the seat. (That was the hardest part) The answer to your question is NO. I never found the need. So credit goes to my fitness level, pain meds, rehab... For the record it's been almost 3 years and I feel great. Never an issue. Feel free to ask any detailed question before or after your surgery. I am glad to help.

“4 hours after surgery” hahah I’m a 25 year old male, in pretty decent shape, and I’m 4 weeks out from a right total hip replacement (anterior approach) with a dual mobility prosthesis. Now, people do recover at different rates, but this is complete bs. Why not be honest? People would still support you and be inspired by you.

I was out of surgery by 10 am. Home by 2 pm. They gave me a walker to use. I didn't feel I needed it. I was still on major pain meds. The video is completely legit. I am getting tired of defending it though. Take away anything you want from it. Your choice. I think if you knew the facts you would feel pretty silly calling it BS. Good luck with your surgery.

Michael Haua, I will have my sergury in next four months. It would be right side and anterior approach. I asked my doctor to have the dual mobility for my implant. He said there is a chance of metal release in my blood during time. I am in Canada and Canada health pays for everything. I thought maybe because dual mobility, is more expensive my doctor prefers to not to go with the most expensive implant. Did your doctor tell you such a thing. I am confused. Thank you if you spend time to answer my question.

goran2324 I believe your recovery. I’m on day 10 post total left hip replacement and I’m waking almost normal (2in length difference from perthes disease). My leg is still tight and sore but I’m getting better each day. I’m 28 years old but the biggest difference is your core seems stronger than mine. I also weigh 250lbs. So I can believe your process. Very inspirational! I have my right hip set to be replaced next to on 9/24/20 (3 weeks apart). Thanks for the video.

Impressive! I'm 65 and 6 weeks past right hip replacement (anterior approach). I think I'm doing great and plan to be back surfing very soon. I really believe that being active and in good physical condition before surgery makes a big difference. Like you, I had no real pain. Just soreness. I stayed one night in the hospital. I took prescription pain meds the first two days back at home, then just Tylenol. Used a walker the first day home, a cane the second day home, then no assist after that. I got booted from physical therapy after 3 weeks. I'm sure that other people have radically different results. I feel very fortunate. But, I'm highly motivated to get back to my active lifestyle.

Hi Goran, this video is amazing. A little hard to believe how fast your recovery has progressed but i have to take it as face value as is is what it is. I had a left THR just under 4 weeks ago, i`m an otherwise fit, healthy 47 year old guy who`s always been well in to sport and fitness, i was on 2 crutches for 1 week, 1 for the following week and now using a stick., i regularly walk 2-3k a day and have just started light gym work. How have you managed to gain so much flexion and strength in your new hip so early?

I don't know if we had identical procedures and sometimes different doctors do things differently. I just kept moving from day 1. I was in pretty decent shape to begin with and I just kept moving. It was NOT effortless and it hurt and it was hard and I had swelling and I was sore but I just kept on moving. It was so much better than before. It's been a year now and if you see my 12 month update video you will see that whatever I was doing to recover was pretty good for my recovery. Everyone is different so be careful and listen to your doctor. It does get better with every day that passes by. Good luck. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7pznsyfqrmako0.html

@@goran2324 Hi Goran, hope you`re well? Just a quick update on my own recovery, basically i`m very happy, 5 and half months post surgery now, i was back at work ( a physical job) after 7 weeks, i was back in the gym after 2 weeks and i`m now in the gym 3 times a week for a full work out at probably 90-95% of what i was doing 10 years ago. I`m extrememly happy with my mobility and pain free on the operated side, i have occasional pain on the other hip and i`m well aware i will need that one done at some point in the future but not just yet! Thank you for your inspirational video`s which i first spotted just after my op in June, they certainly helped spur me on, cheers!:-)
