Thanks for posting this! We were there, just walking by during one of his earlier performances. FYI he also performed Saturday in the Park during the earlier show.

It’s good to see Jason out there still singing. He should sing a few of his own songs but it’s still nice to hear him sing some Chicago tunes how about another generation radio album that would be nice.

Jason and Bill Champlin were Chicago for a long time. Being a Chicago fan from 1969, i appreciate the immense footprint they made on the brand. Keep singing Jason. You're appreciated

Jason you have that rare special talent and heart you pour into everything you sing, doesn’t matter if I’ve heard you sing this many times before but each is different. And this is another one of those special songs , by you. Never change anything about you. We adore you!!!❤

He's in better voice than when he was with Chicago. He seems to have escaped the 'Cetera' trap that he was in... and the brutal/insane schedule that Chicago kept. There's a few of 'his' Chicago hits that are actually my favorite. 'Niagara Falls' would be one of them.

The other band members pretty much FORCED him into the PETER CETERA TRAP because they realized how valuable Peter's voice really was to their SOUND. Jason truly struggled at times with the high vocals; and it ruined his vocal chords. After 31 years; he decided that he had enough. and it was time to leave the band.

thanks for making this available. Was this the complete performance? I saw Jason with Chicago probably 15 times - was a huge loss for them when he left.

I saw him with Chicago from 1988 to 1999. I saw 6 Chicago concerts. Great times, I would've kept going, but no more new material, just the same ol stuff. Wished they'd play the newer stuff from Twenty1 and SOS.

@@lamarravery4094 I hear ya. Bill Champlin being fired was the end for me. I may have seen 2 more shows after that. The guy who replaced Jason was actually a great singer and bass player but he didn't last long.

Years of touring with Chicago burned out Jason's voice, but I'm sure he made enough money to retire during those decades. His voice sounds good and rested.

His side project Generation Radio with Dean Castronovo and other excellent musicians was one of the better albums of the last couple years. Great songs sounds fresh and current not dated. No ego maniacs trying to hog the spot line

I have the CD and it's pretty good. Leans a little to the country side but still has enough melodic rock that Chicago fans should like it. You can find many of the songs on KZfaq.

@@rzrbckmz23 I would agree that's an accurate assessment. I think the Rascal Flatts guy is the main writer hence the country vibe. I like when Scheff and Castronovo sing more appealing voices. However for classic guys making new music it comes off natural and not out of touch or trying to be desperately young and hip it plays to the intended audience

@@michaelyatsco1958 Jay DeMarcus is the guy from Rascal Flatts. He helped write and produce a Chicago album, I think it was XXX, about 10-15 years ago. Talented guy for sure. I'm not a big fan of high voice guys like Steve Perry, Deen Castronovo, Peter Cetera and Jason Scheff if they are the only voices I hear on an album. I like when bands use multiple singers like Chicago did and they even use more than one singer on the same song like "Hard Habit to Break". Journey has some great songs but I can only take a few at a time as Perry's voice wears on me quickly and he's hard to understand sometimes. Same with Cetera and Scheff. I love singers like Billy Joel, Daryl Hall, Eric Carmen and Elton John who have a mid-range voice but can go high when needed. At least back in their prime! Not so much any more.
