It is spring in The Bonsai Garden and lots of exciting things are happening. The trees are all beginning to leaf out and show their wonderful spring colours. The cherry trees and crab apples are in blossom and even my larch trees are beginning to develop tiny, beautiful cones. Now is a time to spend with your trees, to appreciate their splendour and unique beauty.
Enjoy 🙏😁🌳

Such a beautiful garden! I live in Pennsylvania, in the US. Some of my trees are leafing out, a lot of them are still budding, though. This is only my second growing season, so I'm very excited to get this spring started. So far it looks like all of my trees have made it through winter.

I feel like the garden at this time of year is beautiful there’s growth everywhere Also how easy are koi to keep and rough price thank you
@TheBonsaiGarden
@TheBonsaiGarden 3 ай бұрын
Thank you. Keeping koi is a whole subject in its own and costs can vary widely due to a whole range of factors. And like bonsai trees koi prices can vary depending on age, size and quality. Unless you have a very large pond you will likely need pumps and filters to maintain the water quality, and again these can range from a couple hundreds of pounds to thousands.

Nice to see other gardens showing the same vigour as my own. The crab apple remains my favourite. That white pine is not well and is either too damp or there is a bigger root issue going on with it. My only suggestion is to watch out for over watering. Cheers :)

Thanks Xavier. Since it came out from being under cover we have had constant rain. I may have to move it back into shelter, and possibly check that the pot is draining, and maybe just pop it out to look at the roots.

Always love your garden tours, fantastic shot of the ladybug, and of course, those koi fish. Put my duck decoys into my large koi pond yesterday, still devoid of koi fish, and our jack russell still thinks they are real. The 300 lb. neighborhood bear is back, and i have about 40 bonsai trees I hope to get out of their nursery pots, and into real pots. Still a bit of snow on the north side of the house. (My neighbors must think I am nuts, scooping snow into coolers to water bonsai trees.) Hope you have a great growing season Jason. Looking forward to more videos.

Thank you Mary. I always think of you when taking shots of the fish. The largest wildlife we have to worry about here are the mice the cats occasionally bring us as presents...

Hi Jason, Thank you for this tour and the chance to view your trees at this lovely time of year. My trees are generally doing okay, although my small pomegranate is showing no inclination to produce any leaves yet.

What an incredibly beautiful haven you have built there, Sir! Here in London, Ontario, Canada, we are experiencing one of the last - 10 C nights tonight. We have more extreme temperatures than you seem to get there. Nothing except conifers are green over Winter. Consequently the trees are somewhat behind, but happily most survived the harsh weather! This is my first serious overwinter, so I'm relieved. Thanks for the great video Jason!

Thanks for the tour Jason! :) My trees are still waking up after the winter. However, we had few nights with 0°C last week and I'm worried about my trident maple, because the leaves seems to be a bit off now. 😟

Great collection of trees. I especially like your flowering Crabapple and flowering Chinese Quince. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I lost a Shohin Amur Maple and Red Leaf Maple over the winter. Might be due to the excessively wet winter we had.

What a joy it must be to wake up to that glorious view of bonsai, koi and flowers. You have so many show stoppers - truly grateful you shared them with us. My garden in western Canada is just slightly behind yours. Been a bit cool this week - suits me just fine - gives me a chance to catch up with the repots.

If the white pine is looking sick is it worth doing an exploratory dig down and look at roots. Nice Spring garden I commented on Gaia Bonsai that a larger Chinese Elm of mine still hasn't leafed, all branches have green cambiam so surely not dead. I am concerned it's late. Odd.
@TheBonsaiGarden
@TheBonsaiGarden 3 ай бұрын
I will possibly just lift the pine from the pot to see what is happening with the roots. Hopefully your Chinese elm is just running a little late.
