Alliance has only been around for about 3 years, and they came out strong. The light cabinets mixed with the darker cabinets looks great, and always makes the living space look a bit more open and homey, rather than a dark box. A 2023? You must not have had it ling. I hope you have nothing but happiness in your new rig. It’s very beautiful.

Nice coach, however when we started our process of getting ready to go full time we started with the most important thing. The tow vehicle. As stated at time I feel like I'm an WHITE KNUCKLING IT. Difference is we went with a 2015 Volvo 780 formally a class 8 truck. Rated towing capacity 80,000lbs. Air ride suspension, air ride cab, air ride seats, air ride 5th wheel hitch, microwave, fridge, and coffee pot always on. We also carry our Smart Car on the truck along with 50 gallons of propane for our 15,000 watt dual fuel generator. Room for 6 grandbabies. Automatic 13 speed. Total cost $24,000 with 500k in mileage. We pull a Grand Design Momentum 398mr. Empty weight 15,000lbs. Loaded 21,000. We have 8000lbs Dexter oil bathed bearings, air over Hydraulic disc brakes and last but not least Lipert air ride suspension on the trailer. Safe travels and roads Brian and Cindy, "xtreambydesign with passion"

Love this setup! I'm hoping that by the time we can retire, Alliance would offer a couple's RV with a stackable W/D, NO AC on the roof (instead utilize the regained space with more area for solar), mini-split AC, and battery storage over the axles.

Very nice. If we didn't have desert toys, I would probably think about a regular travel trailer. One thing I noticed though, many travel trailers have a very low fresh water capacity. I'm assuming that is by design since many don't dry camp in their RVs. Typically you are staying at some camp with hookups. I like my toy hauler since I have 150 gallons of fresh. That's a lot for a bumper pull. Although my toy hauler is 37 feet in total length. I will be upgrading to a 5th wheel toy hauler soon and I'm very interested in that mini split setup. I've seen a lot of people doing that on their converted vans. I also really dig your battery set up. That is a lot of capacity to run what you need. Once you add solar, you're golden.

We've always loved the idea of a 5th wheel. It's hard to beat having a full size kitchen, living room and a separate bedroom! Obviously the downside is the size and towing... especially off the pavement. We would go as short as we could.

What a great video and walkthrough! Love the upgrades that were highlighted. We just purchased a Paradigm 295RL and want to install the Acuva water sanitation system as shown in the video. The question I have that hopefully someone can answer: Is 12 volts available in the kitchen island to power the Acuva? If not what is the easiest way to get it there? Keep up the good work.
@IreneIronTravels
@IreneIronTravels Жыл бұрын
Hey Alan! The 12 volt did have to get run specially during the build process and would be something you have to run your self. Maybe you could follow the heating duct or plumbing line back through to the pass through using a fish tape? Also, question for you... What made you pick the 295 over the 310? Thanks!
@alanray2182
@alanray2182 Жыл бұрын
@@IreneIronTravels Thank you for your reply. I wanted to ask to get a better idea before I started the install. Two things that lead us to choose the 295 over the 310 are the length and the arrangement of the bathroom. We wanted the smallest Paradigm which allows us to get into more camping spots and fit better into our RV garage. We travel with an additional camper so the ensuite bathroom works well in that situation. We love the Paradigm.

Great video but I think Aaron just had some items added to his to do list. Love the mini split. When will the RV people wake up!!! Also need a 6,000 btu system that will work in vans. Was at a Cracker Barrel last night and there must have been 15 class B units there. Make the outside unit that can be mounted underneath. Would be a huge market. I know that some units are currently out there but the cost it off the charts. I have a 5,000 btu window A.C. and my solar can keep up during the day. Could add more batteries for night use but so far have not needed it.

I would like to know where and how they got the larger slide windows on the passenger side of the rv. All the ones I see at Alliance only offer small lower section portions (like the bottom 20%) that actually slide open. Their RV windows slid the entire height of the window. Was that offered at Alliance? An option? An add-on? The airflow from the whole window would be amazing. Thanks.

From what I understand, Alliance uses two different manufactures for the windows and half are this style and half are the style you are referring to. Jeff, said these windows came with it standard.

What a beautiful rig designed well with great upgrades! My concern is it's being towed with a light duty truck. I would never consider towing a rig this large with anything less than a Class VII tow vehicle. The biggest reason is safety and comfort. When an RV dealer sells a rig this big the sales person will tell you all you need is a 1 ton dually. It is able to tow it, but can it stop in an emergency situation or a panic stop and the answer is no it can't! When I see a rig this large being towed with a light duty truck I stay as far away from them as I possibly can. May I suggest when your out camping look for rigs similar to yours using a Class VII or VIII tow vehicle and talk to the owner. I know for a fact they started out with a light duty TV but soon realized it was not safe and transitioned to a Class VII or VIII TV. Good luck and enjoy you have a beautiful rig!
@mikelanham2901
@mikelanham2901 Жыл бұрын
The one ton dually is more than enough for this rig. I have the same rig without some the added weight and tow with a 2500 HD. This rig is a midsize Fifth Wheel at 34'11". They come a whole lot larger. I agree, absolutely do not rely on a RV salesman for towing info, but just no your weights that are given from the manufacture and the capacity of your tow vehicle.

Hi Ren O….Jeff and Deb here. Sun Angel is a concept build, 1 of 1. We are full-time RVers who have worked for RV suppliers for 10 years. Before that we were Energy Star certified residential contractors….we have tested mini-splits for over 12 years and always wanted to install one on a production RV. Yes, we installed it ourselves. Thankfully Alliance RV joined on this vision. Our dealer is RV County (they have many dealerships in CA, OR, AZ)….Sun Angel will be on display in January at a few RV events including the RV County area at the Quartzsite RV show. Come see us.

I have another question how well did alliance plug up holes . Where water comes in or goes out. Will I have to use steel wool . To plug up holes or did they seal up holes so mice and rats can’t get in?

I’m curious. Heat pumps don’t generally work very well if at all when the outside air temperature gets below 40-45 degrees. Is there some other type of heat available other than the fireplace for us winter campers?
@IreneIronTravels
@IreneIronTravels Жыл бұрын
Yes! Alliance 5th wheels all have a 42k BTU propane furnace standard as well. I think the mini split heat pumps are a bit better than standard RV AC as well working down to about 25-30 degrees.

Hi Buzz- We have been testing Mini-split heat pumps for 12 years on our Sticks n Bricks in the Ozarks in sub freezing and triple digit high humid climates….the Mr Cool 4th Gen heating specs claims it heats in climates down to 5 degree F. Yes heat output will diminish as ambient temps drop that is why we left the onboard furnace and the 1,500 watt fireplace plus we added a 9k BTU Olympic freestanding heater. Over the past 30 years in the Midwest we have had enough winter camping and now enjoy chasing the sun. Happy camping.

I'll second the recommendation for heat pumps in colder temperatures. The rooftop heat pumps that come on RVs don't work well under 45 degrees just like you stated. However, residential conventional heat pumps work much better and can handle temps under freezing. And, then the newer mini splits seem to do even better than all of them, creating hot air in temps well under freezing. I've got a Daikin mini split in my basement that works great, even in the teens.

I wonder if the actual frame of that 5th wheel is engineered for that extra weight they have added to that rig. Especially the added pin weight! I would almost bet it isn’t.
@SwimSpen
@SwimSpen Жыл бұрын
Hi Shane, How much you want to bet? ;). We over engineered everything on this build. 💪 Even relocated the batteries (built an internal cage + reinforced the floor) and inverters closer toward the axles to lighten the pin weight. Mini-split compressor is lighter than on-board genie. 2 indoor air handlers are lighter than the 3 roof AC units. Since we upgraded to the optional Morryde 8K IS, disc brakes, H rated tires, BEFORE production Alliance (and Lippert) engineers were able to increase the trailer sticker (+1,680 )to 16,800! Loaded (including full 100 gallon fresh and 60lbs LP and Solar) we are still under max by 400lbs. Only 10k miles and so far Sun Angel is holding together inside and out. Safe travels

That's another great reason the 12 volt RV fridges are great... You can leave it running 24/7 and as long as you have 12v power (solar, battery,shore) you don't have to worry about the fridge. This is a snippet from the user manual : Operation during travel: While the refrigerator should be level when the vehicle is stopped, performance during travel is not usually affected
