Hey Ken, enjoyed this review as always. I like this kind of suspense drama if the director is able to create that nail biting 'what will happen next' unpredictable atmosphere. With these kinds of movies, I agree the sound special effects are of paramount importance to complement the unsettling pin drop silence. The poster is great to be picture framed. Would look great to create that movie theatre ambience (they should have given two separate posters instead of combining both on one sheet of art paper back and front). Couple of friendly minor suggestions: 1. If you can put the ratings somewhere on the top right corner of your video, while you're holding the Bluray cover, that would be better ( more interactive) than having ratings displayed on a complete black screen. 2. Your thumbnails are good to me, but I guess to promote your viewership, you might want to work on that to make it more publicly appealing to induce that interest/curiosity leaving them wondering and desparate to find out what the video is all about ( you know what I mean 😉 ) 3) I learn that you got Denon 3600 as your main AV amp, which must be great. Just in case you ever want to upgrade, there are two recommendations my friend: Onkyo TX-RZ50 (7.2.2) or better yet TX-RZ70 ( 7.2.4) A/V receiver. This got Dirac live room correction software licence out of the box. The Dirac live bass control licence comes separately which you need to buy as optional add on. With Dirac live, the sound reproduction with and without it is day and night ( as I have read many authentic reviews and did my research). The other A/V receiver that is at next level is Anthem MRX1140 (7.1.4 channel OOB, no separate amps needed). It comes with its own proprietary Anthem room correction ( ARC). Either of these will not only enhance your home theatre experience but also will give you better voice clarity. I've been into home theatre stuff ( for my own personal needs) for more than a decade and come a long way to experiment with many AV receivers and these two as mentioned above are the ones that I'd like to upgrade to sometime soon. So, that serves as disclaimer that I never experienced them in person 😅 p.s. But I do have one special gift my friend to recognise immediately what is best out of many better and good things. Even ability to differentiate between good and bad is a challenge for many😅

Thanks as always SAS! I’m playing around with a few ways I line up the reviews and will certainly take your suggestions to heart as I always do. As you mention Dirac Live I do have the entire package (now including bass control). I went through the entire calibration a few months back and DAMN…!!! does it sound GREAT! I don’t know what my next upgrade will be when the time comes but I appreciate those suggestions. See ya in the next vid my friend!

Thanks brother! It was a good fun film and I think maybe was meant to be kept looking more “grainy” and with just stereo sound for that mid-90’s type of “video shelf” type of film. Glad you enjoyed!

The source material is not the best for the transfer. It's a darkside movie

Makes sense - I still loved the film. I think it’s more meant for a darker and “grittier” look anyway.

I mean your thoughts are pretty much my actions lol - I don’t yet love the western genre films so I haven’t gotten arrow’s releases of them, but yeah - I’ve pretty much gotten everything else they’ve put out in the last year or so… And VS…all - day - long! 😉

@ungraduatedmedia I'm not a big western guy either...Outside of Young Guns and Tombstone, I don't really seek them out to watch but I'm sure I'll get around to them if VS or Arrow has them 🤣 The tough part is going back and trying to get stuff from both of those boutiques that I missed... Have you seen the price of the VS release of Vice Academy !?!? Holy 💩! Completing these is gonna get rough lol $$$$

@@AVAPopCulture- it isn’t cheap I know - me being a VS subscriber helps me some on the pricing discounts I get. But then again the price for admission on that isn’t cheap either, but to me, worth it if you’re going to be a completionist like myself. I have all their mid - later years stuff. Now its going back and getting all their earlier releases. Then…it’s making the time to watch it all lol 🤣

Most of what they put out I do get but not all. Since about the beginning of 2023 I’ve purchased most of their new releases as I love their work. I’m not majorly into westerns and Kung Fu genre films so I’ve haven’t grabbed most of those releases. But I’ve come to trust them so much and I love blind buys for new experiences so I don’t mind grabbing most of what they put out.

@@ungraduatedmedia Cool. Arrow is good, but there are so many labels, you just have to stick to your favorites otherwise you go down rabbit hole. I understand your financial situation is different and it's fun following your quest, but I think most of us needs to pick and choose. I love Criterion and Deaf Crocodile, but some of the Vin Syn are fun, not a big horror fan. Did you get anything at the sale?

@@jespernicolaj I most certainly did get some new VS at the sale and as soon as my package comes in I’ll be doing an unboxing 😉 I do have quite a few Criterion and some Deaf Crocodile as well. VS and Arrow are probably a few of my favs…
