Click to watch MW3 In Depth G36C: • MW3 In Depth - G36C As... This was the second most painful episode of MW3 In Depth for me to make, right next to the Dragunov. The M16 was the best weapon in CoD4, great in MW2, and suprisingly dangerous in Black Ops. However, it's an incredibly weak weapon in MW3. No matter how much I try, I just can't like this weapon or recommend it with anything other than thermal sights. Statistically speaking it comes in close to average in a lot of ways, but in practice it's just not very fun to use it all. I hope that you all enjoy the Hardcore TDM gameplay. Lots of people requested it in the previous episode.

It seems like many of you on the comments didn't the part where I said that still didn't like it with RF and Dot/Holographic. Also, even though you personally maybe be able to do well with this weapon, it doesn't hold up when compared to the other assault rifles in MW3.

@thirstforpeace Didn't like the holosight on this gun and I don't think that glitch is in effect. One of the reasons I recommended thermal is so that you can stabilize it and have kick.

Is it weird that I hate the way every sight in this game looks? Maybe I'm just to used to Black Ops 2. I hate the Red Dot, the Holographic, ACOG and Thermal Sight. I only like the Hybrid - to an extent - because it allows me to pick off enemies at a range that would normally hard to see with the other scope.

I think most sights in bo2 suck except for the acog but most of the guns have great iron sights so I don't need optics anyway

@zZombieRapistZz Even with rapid fire, the M16 still shoots slower, does less damage, and is is less accurate than the Type95.

The M16A4 is the best gun with rate of fire. You can easily kill a juggernaut with a full mag. I recommend Extended mag and suppressor Blind eye, Assassin Pro, and stalker Pro then run with specialist scavenger, quickdraw pro, and steady aim pro, and sight of hand pro. Now this gun and class is absolute beast in domination game types.

I forgot to mention you need to have skorpion, FMG9, Pm9 or was it the tmp. Anyways you need them akimbo for entering a small building

Wow, thats actually a pretty good loadout. I tend to use the Ballistic vests to counteract the slow aiming, it really works well :) Thanks for the tips :D

your welcome :), just remember that you need to have something to counter-act the slow aim down sights time of the Acog. I just use ballistic vests because I don't mind taking damage from a smg or assault rifle and it keeps my perk space clear of quickdraw and I can replace it with Hardline to get the ballistic vests earlier. And remember, this gun is better that the Type 95 because of the reload and range, so to make a distinct difference I put on slight of hand pro to quicken the quick reloads

Yeah i love these rifles, A friend has got a DPMS with a 16" barrel (i think) with Eotech 502 and flip-up backup sights and a nice vertical grip/bipod to finish it off. Sweet rifle to shoot.

@kidwreck1632 It was under the effects of an EMP, so the red crosshairs were still there but the thermal overlay was not.

@1piecemage Assassin doesn't make the thermal sight be in color like a regular scope. It just causes the person not to glow white.

I have a gold M16 and a couple of support streak moab's using it, best set-up is stability and a hybrid scope, two burst kills at very long ranges are doable with the 4x scope.

@pokerus230 The reason why the M16 is a burst fire weapon. If you ever played Black Ops and played one of the mission where you are in Vietnam, the M16 was a newly created automatic rifle. But due to it having so much recoil, they changed it's firing mode to burst fire for increased accuracy and less recoil. So from Cold War era it was automatic to Modern Warfare era.

@NextClanTX he has quickdraw on so he was affected by emp. and almost towards the last millisecond of the killcam the emp is diminished.

That's how I often used the M16 in Black Ops, with the Red Dot or ACOG sight. Get into a good sniper position and wait for people to walk right into the killzone.

i enjoyed getting gold on the M16, i found 2 classes i enjoyed, one was rapid fire and silencer and the other class i used was hybrid scope and breath so it works better at both closer and longer ranges

I wreck with this gun. Extremely underrated and underused. I usually get it to blue camo, but I'm going for gold this time since I am 4 levels into my prestige.

Yeah, I'm a big M16 fan and I can do pretty good with it running nothing on it post patch. In really accurate with irons and the rof increase helped put more rounds down range as well as more damage for quicker, cleaner kills.

Ya I use the M16A4 with ACOG and rapid fire. I have it golden, which makes it AWESOME! I think it works best if you use it at long range.

I really like the M16 with Rapid Fire and either silencer or rds with specialist. Scavenger, Quickdraw, Steady Aim, Specialist perks Dead Silence/Sitrep, Sleight of Hand, Blast Shield. Got me an MOAB on Seatown

@wwekingtase10 The moment you press the reload button, a timer in the software sets off, after a weapon specific time elapse, the game considers you gun to be refilled with bullets even though the animation has yet to end. You can see this for your self, preferably on the Intervention in COD6, reload it when its empty and see the bullet indicator fill up way before the animation has finished. You can use this to your advantage.d

Silencer and Rapid Fire work well with this gun. You just need to get used to the iron sights which is actully not that bad of a sight. Can't wait to use this gun with Desert Eagles.

I use Acog with rapid fire, so I can have long range and a short 3-shot kill sprayer in close range and accuracy for long range I love the M-16!

I do belive they do the wrong fire-modes for "balance" reasons,also theres a select fire attatchment in black ops 2,did you notice how they modelled the front sight to be IN the handguard?

The trick with the M16 is to use the attachments proficiency with red dot sight and rapid fire. It does not hurt the accuracy and really helps with getting more of those one burst kills.

they need to make it like the type 95 were you only need 2 of the 3 bullets to hit to get a kill if they do that i feel it would help the m16 a lot

@gold3263301 Because HC has less health to start with, I think it's at 30-45 player damage so a shot from the m16 would be 25 at long range and you would always get a 1-2 shot kill, so it would be very efficient in HC
