I pretty much had the same feelings about my MX-5. Swapping ends in the car was much to easy on the stock rubber and the tall suspension didn't inspire confidence. Switching to Ohlins suspension and wider wheels changed the MX-5 from a bit of a dog into a mean street machine.

Depends on what you want. The NC has a nicer cabin. Roomier more comfortable. The engine is more powerful. The nb has the raw, spartan appeal that many people like

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A is high performance summer tire. They will perform poor in wet floor. They should re-test the new NC in a dry condition again to give proper rating.

for those who base their choice of this video, think again. We never had a NB "RS" (whatever it is) in Europe, not probably in the US. I don't know what suspensions this NC "RS" uses but looking how soft they look it does not seems to be the Bilsteins. And what about the MazdaSpeed ? In other words, while this video is interesting, the conclusion only concerns the japanese market

Tuning both the NB or NA will out handle the new one because of the 4 wheel double wishbone. Multi link(that's not always DWB) tends to have bump steer problems. The chassis on the NC is stiffer though, however not too much stiffer than an NB 2001+...just look underneath one and you'll know what I mean.

If your looking for a car to comfortably cruise in then yeah the NC is better but for fun and handling Id take a NA or NB way before hand

I had a older Miata. That car was so easy to drive hard, you had to do something truly stupid to loose it, even in the rain. Sad to see that the new one sux, you can see in the video it has way too much body roll :(

Only tires and weather combination was the problem. The 3rd gen MX5 is much better than the previous in every aspect.

An NB with a 7500rpm redline? Not on this continent! Japan always keeps the best stuff for themselves.
