Great video! One quick note from the manual after changing the transmission fluid. IMPORTANT: "Do not operate the tractor immediately after changing the transmission fluid. Run the engine at medium speed for a few minutes to prevent damage to the transmission." -p142,143

Kudo's, sir. I work at a local Kubota dealership in the shop. I do PDIs (Pre Delivery Inspections) I admire how well you take care of your equipment. I wish more customers would do this practice. You save time and serious money simply by doing the regularly scheduled maintenance. I understand people are busy and some aren't mechanically inclined and simply ignore it. That is the worse case. Take care of your stuff and it will take care of you.

You did a great job. My MX6000 has 398 hours on it and I have been reading the owners manual and getting ready to do the 400 hour service. Your video was timely for me. By the way, I have worked this machine hard. I have only had one instance where something has broken. The seat suspension. A weak weld that holds the springs in place came loose. Other than that the only damage to my tractor is a result of operator error!

Richard Bought my 5400 about year and half ago your video was awesome so good that I enough subscribed. Just did my 400 hr and with your video I completed the service easily. Postscript: I hope to see future videos of your tractor in action. This tractor as been used to help me clear a 105 acres ( still working it doing it by my self) and have used it for stuff it shouldn’t have been ask to do lol, I’ve tried to kill it it just won’t break , I really like my 5400!!

Good video! With the vertical fuel filter you can pre fill it with fuel. Might save a lot of pumping.

I purchased a Kioti DK6010SE Cab last year and have had a problem with it from day one that they aren’t able to fix. I just learned they are buying it back but asked what the hours are. I told them that after a year the hours have nothing to do with the buyback price. I want what I paid for it as I wouldn’t be needing to buy another tractor if this one wasn’t having so much trouble. We will see. I owned a Kubota B2650Cab before the Kioti but it ended up being way too small. I have a deposit in an MX5400 Cab and as soon as I get my check I’m going to purchase 0:01 it. I’m looking so forward to it. Thanks for this service video, pretty straight forward but always nice to see something done first. Nice job.

Great video, I have an MX 5800 and have no complaints except for the location of the hydraulic fluid sight window, hard to see with my quick hitch on the tractor. One thing more, remember to check fluid level in front axle. Mine was a little low and I have only 250 hrs. on it. Thanks again.

I enjoyed the video. My M7060's drain plugs are set up the same way. It's always interesting to watch how others maintenance their equipment, you can always pick up a new trick here and there. Edit - That UDT oil has an outrageous cost with it. I had our oil supplier for the mine I work at cross it over and I now use Phillip 66 Power Trans. oil. It is the exact crossover and cost much less.

Great job, very clear as to what all, was done - Where/when/how - Great idea, using auto ramps to level up the tractor on the sloping driveway… The MX5400, is a Sweet tractor - just hit 25 hours, on mine - Set up, the same way, Cab/Hydrostatic/Front loader… (first New tractor, after a previous occupation of 10 years, where being on the tractor 7 days a week was the norm - and, a good day, was one without a breakdown - due to the tractors being older, and having LOTS of hours)

This video was great work man! Awesome. Next month I am buying an mx5400 2022 model, God willing of course. So I do not anticipate hitting 400 hours for a year or two however this gives me a good idea of where everyhing is that needs to be serviced ahead of time. My question is why are you using Taxable Diesel in your tractor? Why not save some cash and use red dyed farm fuel? I noticed when you were cleaning the water fuel separator that you had regular taxed non dyed fuel in the tub.

Here is a suggestion for those of you that are as tight a$$ed as I am. I will save my hydraulic oils, or some of it anyway, and use it for "cutting oil" at my drill press and metal cutting band saw. And for those of you that do controlled burns I will take any old diesel fuel that is dirty and such, I will save that and use it in my drip torch, as I mix it at a ratio of 3 parts diesel to 1 part gasoline. I mean, why waste these fluids if you can use them for other things. Especially considering how expensive they are!

Can you tell me what size pvc pipe you used on the loader tube? They have the red end caps on them.They are used to store tools/chains.

You may want to invest in a set of JIS screwdrivers for the Phillips type screws on your tractor. JIS stands for Japanese Industrial Standard. Those Phillips type screws are slightly different than their American counterparts, the angles and width of the slots are different. Amazon has many sets, just type in JIS screwdriver sets. You can buy just the Phillips type, or a set with the flat blade drivers included. There is a world of difference in the fit of the driver to the screws. I am buying an MX5400 next year. As I cannot find a dealer with one on the lot, I have a few questions if you don't mind. 1.The need for the split engine oil pan I understand. I assume there is a cross channel to join the two sumps? 2. When you changed the hydraulic filter, there was a grey box above the filter. Could you please tell me what that is for? 3.Also, could you please tell me the brand, and part number if possible of the filter pliers that you used to change the hydraulic filter? Those are the first set that I have seen that use the Vise Grip principal. And one last question. 4.Where is the fuel filler cap located on the tractor? Thank you for a great, very detailed video. I look forward to becoming a Kubota owner next year.
