The amount of success and satisfaction in this video is staggering! So cool that you built such a nice-looking deck and learned how to do all those manly things I would love to do that at some point. We were fortunate to have a friend with one of these Endless pool current generators in his backyard pool within 30 minutes of our house. My son (he just aged to 12) was able to keep his stroke and some conditioning for 3 months while the pools were closed. The unit we had access to only reved up to a 1:08 pace which was ok for me (I’m 43 and out of shape) but got challenging after 3-4 minutes or so. My son who is a 5:10 500 swimmer right now had trouble swimming that slow. But it was better than nothing. We found ways to drag him down to make the 1:08 pace work for him (butterfly sets, drag suit, pull buoy, stretch cord resistance in combo with the current). The current generator unit was in a 35ft pool so we were able to do what we called flume sprints where he would push off and really work his underwater (streamline/body position are really tough into a current) and breakout then sprint into the current to the generator. Short intervals, no breathing on the sprints. All in all, the endless pool is a fantastic tool for keeping your feel on the water.

Tbf most Olympians live normal lives and live in normal neighbourhoods they don’t earn that much money. Unless you are like usain bolt or mo farah you won’t be earning millions.

@@Trassshpile224 My cost: Delivered to my home; E-550 with Full sound system, cover, and treadmill: $43k Keep in mind; it was a floor model that sat for over a year. Thus, floor discount. Plus; the warranty did not start until delivery. Thats the way I recommnend anyone do it.

Cody's right about finding a pool. I count my blessings every day that my pool is still open and my teammates and I are able to do our off season training. If it wasn't, I would jump in the lake just to change.

i have one of these pools. i would recommend the PacePal clock and it is an underwater pace clock that is completely waterproof. it’s good

I installed a used version just over a year ago. Cranking the electric heater for 9 months of that year (southern cali) my year long electric bill was $1800 more than the previous year. I installed a black tubing style solar water heater, ran on its own small pump, and that looks to reduce the yearly cost by 70%. We use the pool 6 days a day on average. They are great!

Maybe everything you said makes sense, but my parents years ago bought a fairly large above-ground pool and it did NOT sit on concrete the plans are just to level the ground a little with zero backfilling then you basically just throw in the pool liner after putting up the exterior walls and then add water and more water and more water, but with the zero concrete it is not easy to have a perfectly smooth floor as you get in full pools, but I imagine the way you have the frame, then some floor panel etc you do in fact get a sweet smooth bottom. I like your pool, though I feel like I would drown in your pool because I am no good swimmer I can swim back and forth in a pool and not drown most days. It is funny because your water flow looks good and I just watched a show where a guy put a pimp in a bix, added pipes and power and made a bad version of your pool that he just puts it beside the pool plus it in adds water to prime the pump and off it goes and you can swim in the result but I don't think you would be happy with the result :)
