Awesome to see this! I have been driving to SIV from south Texas consistently since 2009 until 2021 and was always more inpressed with those, like me, that drive their cars out instead of trailering them. After the event I always detoured on the way back, stacking up the miles on my MK3. One year I decided to make it all the way to the west coast after the event so I detoured to the Santa Monica pier and pushed my luck detouring still through Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, etc making stops along the way before finally making it back home. I put a little over 4k miles on that one trip, and just like you, people would ask questions when they saw the out of state plates and question my sanity at fuel stations. I ended up not having a single issue that trip which was great. Oh and my mk3 is still rocking the 7mgte lol

@@PoorManMods Been wanting a change of direction as I've been driving that way for so many years. Have actually been wanting to check out the Supras take on Myrtle Beach event in North Carolina and start visiting areas in the east coast for a change

Don't take that as written in stone, that's just what I experienced. I only saw up to 91, but even that was rare, I often only saw 85-89 octane

This definitely makes me now want to do a smaller road trip with my s13 or r32 this coming summer. Now that they're down for winter I'll start going through them like you did. Im thinking the tail of the dragon from Wisconsin. Not nearly as far as you went but it's something. You should definitely be proud of the car youve put together. Most cant say that their project car has done any kind of road trip.

Damn you were in Lexington? You were an hour away from where I live lol Would have been awesome to have met you along the way. Oh, can't remember if I told you since you found that K series in your new space, but a little after that, I acquired my own K series coincidentally by getting a used Honda Element out of necessity. Needed something to drive my mom and her wheelchair to physical therapy sessions. I already have ideas of what I want to do to it, and like most car enthusiasts, my ideas are more unrealistic and expensive than I can ever afford. One being I want to have high quality carbon fiber work done to recreate all the black plastic panels on the outside, bumpers and all, in carbon. Kinda want to make a realistic what-if Element Type R. But I easily see it becoming a $50k+ endeavor lol Also, congratulations on the trip! Can't believe that bastard survived the trip so well! And yes, I feel entitled to call it that. Been her since the early days when the 86 had just come back from paint, engineless. So that Supra is iconic. It's a bastard but it's OUR bastard. Channel mascot. The curse that keeps on cursing. 🤣 But for real, huge accomplishment that the only real mishap was just a early design shifter part malfunction.

Some kind of extreme element like that would be rad! I really want to put our K into an RX8, but Brad doesnt like RX8s :( Haha being an OG follow you are certainly entitled to call it a cursed, problematic bastard 😂😂😂 The car has certainly evolved into a but of an Icon for the MK3 community and the PMM community of course, its absolutely what people "know me" for. I am still amazed the shifter was the only issue, which also bumms be a little bit because i should have taken the risk with the track day!! Thanks so much for your long time support ❤

Yeah you were blessed you didn't have a catastrophic failure with that pin. And no thanks for me supporting you needed. It's very easy to support quality content and down to earth great people like you and your friends. Been lots of fun times watching you. As far as the RX8, I kinda agree on hating it?, but only because I loved RX-7s and the 8 felt like a massive letdown. But from a logical pov, idk if the RX-8 would be ideal for a K series. Idk if you followed Donut recently but they K swapped an EG recently and when they added itb's, they immediately ran out of room for the hood to close. K motors are kinda tall. The RX8 has a more narrow sloped hood iirc, and wouldn't it have issues fitting too? Especially since it was designed around a 13B rotary. I'm kinda stumped on what to put it in myself tbh.

I lovet the way the RX8 looks, i know the factory drivetrain is garbage though. They make k swap kits for the RX8, and SIKKYs formula drift car back in the day was an LS swapped RX8, so there had to be room for that atleast haha. Or maybe an MR222222

You almost sold me on the RX8 when you said the LS fits because I'm sick of LS'ing the world lol But MR2... that'd be awesome like a mini NSX almost. How about the MR-S? Ik it's not well loved, but there's been some awesome JDM body kits for it over the years, and it'd be a unique build you don't find anymore too

it took longer to build the bridge that bypasses the dam then it did to build the dam mk3 supras get so much attention out on the roads, i went on a road trip with 2 nice corvettes, and a nice mustang, and my ratty supra got more attention then all 3 of them combined
