I have found the first couple of craft fairs don’t make a lot of profit because you have to buy signage, your set up, business cards, etc….after you have all that stuff paid for and can use it at other craft fairs you’ll start making a little more profit. Don’t give up…just keep going!!

This is inspiring! Please don’t give up! I know a girl who didn’t sell anything her first craft sale and now is very successful! It’s all about keep going! And i think as you progress and you start seeing bigger rewards you’ll look back at this day and say “I’m glad I didn’t give up! Look at me now!”

so awesome that your entire family was there to support you! My sister and I, along with her daughter and grandchildren have a small business called Family Creations - we love making various items and going to events and meeting people and marketing our "family" inspired items!

So proud of you friend for putting yourself out there and doing something outside your comfort zone! That can be really hard for us introverts and you never know until you try. I totally know that bummed out feeling! My last fair I only profited $14!!! That said, I always remind myself that you win some and you lose some! It's all part of the process and experience. Even if you go just to get your name out there that is HUGE! Keep doing what you are doing! Your work is amazing!

I'm new to your channel and I have procrastinated on opening my esty and KZfaq because I'm scared I have been working on this for a little over a year still haven't Tried. I said 2022 will be the year I gain my confidence and just do it. Thanks for posting videos so true on we need to just do the experience even if we are doubting are self. This video did motivate me.

You go girl, i am the same way as you. And yes the same thing happened to me when i ventured out. I've actually done 2 or 3 fairs with no luck what i did learned is that it all depends on the customers, craft fairs are a hit or miss. Kudos to you for stepping out of your comfort zone. I will try the flea market next and see how that goes. Tfs

Hi. Just saw your vid. Popped up on my suggested view... glad I viewed... lol. Funny thing is, it's all about what people are looking for that particular day... it can be "hit or miss" in a way. I would have totally ignored the knitting and reef tables & left there w/no money after your table... your patterns, colors, & "usability" is great! I especially love the "know your worth, then add tax" sign!!!! Try it again, another time, another place... you'll be the table making the "killing". I make jewelry, I just LOVE to create!!! I have done 1 church fair, I sold things @ $4 & $8" sold a lot. I loved meeting people and seeing what they make, that was my goal, so I accomplished it!

I am 4 years into doing craft shows and still have done a summer show in which I sold $6.00. But then just sold $500 in 1 day 2 weeks ago. So sometimes it can be timing, or luck. I recommend you find some Facebook groups to follow and learn from.

I totally get trying to balance a craft business and be mom and wife and everything in between. I have a hard time balancing my schedule as well. I sell at a local farmers market and it can be a 40.00 day or a 140.00 day. Neither is great for the hours I spent being there and the hours I spent making the items…it is definitely hard to know where to put your time. Wishing you all the best!

You should attend a con sometime. It’s my goal to be a vendor at comic cons. It’s VERY different from craft fairs.

I’ve done these too and I don’t think it’s a good place for us crafters. I’ve done two and I will not do anymore. I’m currently selling my handmade cards at a crafty store which shared takes a certain % but I’m ok with that! Girly, I can’t do YT videos anymore because I hate putting myself out there. I’m sooo not a people person so that makes it hard. Awesome job for putting yourself out there!

Watching this before my first craft fair tomorrow. I’m trying to keep my expectations low because I’m in a not very spendy- area and I don’t think this church down the street advertised it very much. But it’ll give me experience and I’ll be a little more prepared for my own church’s craft fair coming up in a month that I suspect will have more people at it.

I have adhd. It's nearly impossible for me to pick ONE thing. There are 974 things i want/can do. Most craft booths only want 4. Four? Hahaha

I know this video is a few months old, I just wanted to share what my experiences have been. My first fair, my sales were pretty bad ($56 with $50 in table fees). I later found that it was the same weekend as another larger fair. Everyone was very complimentary and I had already signed up other fairs, so I kept going. My next 3, each one I made a bit more (120 at the next, 250ish at the following, 320ish at the next). Still plugging away and trying again this year. Have my first convention next month. Etsy on the other hand, I have made 1 sale in my time on it and I've kinda given that up as a lost cause. That one sales was a custom order based on an Instagram post (she wanted the same thing in different colors). I'm not the best at Etsy so maybe that's the problem. The market is just so saturated and I feel like I can't compete there.
