Great video. I just.upon sold my ‘96 Savage. I’m 85 years old and didn’t want to push my luck anymore.I’ve been riding forever and have never had an accident but if I had one at my age it would take me forever to heal up so as much as I miss the bike, I’m playing it safe. The bike is great and I enjoyed as much or more than any of my others ( I’ve had 8) . You’re not going to beat any Hyabusas but you are going to enjoy the machine and if I were younger I wouldn’t hesitate a second to buy another one.

I've had big bikes, small bikes, newer bikes, older bikes...Honda's, Harleys, you name it. One of the bikes I regretted never owning is one of those. Recently I've been thinking about them again. I'm thinking I want a daily rider that's simple and lightweight.

What other bikes you never regretted? I'm thinking about to get either an s40 boulevard or shadow 600

@@31user31 The S40 and not very expensive to get your hands on. Also take a look at the Honda Shadow phantom 750. That's another excellent bike.

Man I wish the gears were a bit longer at the top, there's barely any difference between 3rd 4th and 5th, 4 to 5 especially is like a 300rpm drop, at least on my 2012, it's ridiculous. Other than that, I love my thumper! My neighbors hate it, but I'm sure they've learned to deal with it....except when I go out for a late night 1am beer run, or ride lol. Added a small, clear shield, and love it, a badass shorty pipe, some cheap bags off Amazon, I think they're made by KemiMoto, just cheap bags that actually have worked incredibly well. They're the only one's I could find that didn't require changes to my blinkers, and didn't impair passenger footpeg space. Next thing is replacing that dumbass carb, it's made for a 1000cc Sportster, not a 652cc Suzuki >< There's a bigbore kit that just about doubles the HP, and torque, since it's an incredibly low stressed engine, it's VERY easy to get more power out of it, along with the kit, there's required work like port matching the exhaust, belt to chain swap, etc...so I'm skipping all of that, and just getting a proper carb and tune, then caring for it as long as possible. It handles like a sportbike in some ways, my last bike was an R6, and I've owned many before, so I can tell you, this bike is so light, that with good tires, it's easy to keep up, or even leave noob riders behind on sportbikes. They top out between 85 and 90, min personally does 89 on the dot, and that's it, which is fine, I don't take long rides on it, this is a commuter bike, and that's what I use it for, but it's also fun as hell for 20-40 mile rides with friends thru some twisties :) Torque is amazing, I'll take it over HP these days. In the end, this is a bike for people that understand it's not perfect, but it's a hell of a value, and a lot of fun. WIndscreen is very necessary, get one! I use my cell for a speedo attached to my bars, I don't really dig the tank speedo idea, stupid imo.

The s40 is such a dog. 650cc and 350cc of power.31hp? 37 lb of torch is pathetic. I've owned mine for 5 years. I'm 67 now and have never owned a slower bike than the s40 BUT it's easy to ride and easy to fix..And cheap ass sh-t to own.

It's idling low because the mixture is too rich, evidenced by it running more revs when running out of gas. Drop the jet needle a notch. Maybe the different muffler has changed the running mixture or your air filter is dirty

Don't let anyone ever tell you that you can't take a midsize bike on Long rides. My first multi-state trip was on a 500 Honda.

That's a great idea about the seat, I'm 6'1", a little tall for this bike, but I love it so much I'm determined to make it work, heh. I DO feel like I need another 2 inches of room behind my butt, I'm not large, only 190lbs, and it's a comfortable seat, just not where I'd like it to be :\

Do you like this bike for long rides? What can you tell me about the vibrations on your hands, does it bothers you?
@ABCDEFGHIJKELA...
@ABCDEFGHIJKELA... Жыл бұрын
I drive to the beach every few weeks, about 60 miles each way, I've never had any hand issues, but I always wear very good quality gloves, maybe that helps, however, the gearing at the top end makes it difficult to deal with the vibration over about 75mph, there's only about 250-300rpm drop between 4th and 5th gear :( so I ride about 68mph, it's perfect that speed, could probably ride all day at it, with sprints to 80-90mph now n then when passing. A wind screen, even just a small clear screen changes everything about long rides on this bike, *it's 100% better*, and and less of a fight, I even gained 2 mph on top end lol.
