My 2024 ink plan and January currently inked

Yes, while editing this I realize I never selected a shimmer ink. On the first month and I've already broken my own rules! However I will ink a shimmer up sometime soon to fix that.
The rules:
1 pen for my 5-year journal
2 pens inked with document inks for drawing
2 every day carry pens
2 letter-writing/home pens
1 ink has to be a shimmer ink
1 of the document inks has to be black
1 of the every day carry pens has to be green OR brown
1 ink has to be drawn randomly
(There are 12 inks I can select randomly from - 6 from 2023 inkvent and 6 from other samples I have.)
January's randomly drawn ink is Diamine Raspberry Rose.

I’m loving your well thought out plans! I need to rethink mine. Especially choosing one pen/ink for my 5-year is one I really need to settle on as I’ve been using not having one as an excuse to not use the journal and that’s silly. I’m looking forward to your document ink explorations too!

I can't tell you how excited I am to have found another non-binary fountain pen lover! I'm very new into this world, I only own 3 as of a few weeks ago and one has never been inked.

This is a very good plan. I love how you worked out all the details. I don’t do art and have a smaller need for pens, but I’m going to try a form of this. There’s no reason for me to have 11 pens inked. Lol

If you are looking to treat yourself with a green/ brown shimmer ink, I highly suggest Dominant Industry, Autumn Forest. And if I was looking to treat myself for the perfect pen to put it in, it would be that lovely pine monster that you have not talked about nearly enough for me :D

I'm planning a deeper dive on that pen once I've had it a little longer. Maybe end of January! But yes, that ink is on my list of ones to try once I tackle my sample box a bit more.

Most brush pens I've seen use cartridges (not refillable fountain pen style) and don't have a cap clip... What brand made your brush pen with a clip on the cap? Seeing as it is a converter, is there a brush pen ink you use from the bottle? So cool!!!

I need to have specific colours inked like some red, teal, blue-black etc. I have pen stand for 5 pens on my desk and pencil case for 10 so 15 is the limit. I feel like the biggest tragedy of my fountain pen life is that they dry up and ink oxidizes (although not in all pens, some are very resistant). I always thought they are resistant like gel pens until I started using more than one pen at a time.

Yeah if pens don't have that inner seal/cap it can be such a problem! This is why I want to be careful about how many pens I have inked at once. I'd rather write them dry than have them dry up!
