It's incredible that only a handful of companies do this considering the wealth of cool inks one can use with both of these nibs if the company is to be believed

Those comics are so cool. Is that based on your day? Like a journal or diary but done in comics? Your voice is just so soothing. Was it always like this, or did you develop it that way being a librarian? Definitely try to get the Parker looked at, and see if you can get it writing to your liking, because when you use it, it'll feel even more special. Excellent video.

I enjoyed watching your video, and I loved getting a glimpse of your comics! You’re very talented! 🤩 I found your perspective on being rebellious with ink colours so interesting. When I started exploring inks, my mind went straight to trying to find matches for the colours I was used to using in ballpoint and gel pens. Looking back, it’s amusing to think about how dedicated I was to finding the perfect shade… to match my utilitarian pens. 😅 It took me a bit longer to branch out and try other colour families, but I’m glad I did because it’s so much fun!

10:13...You got good taste in fountain pens....I traded for an inexpensive $90 usd TRAVELER'S COMPANY BRASS Fountain Pen and enjoying its toughness and scribbing ...a good writer. 10:22 ...wow ...the Schon pocket six is a great EDC PEN..My friend has one, she bought it for $150 usd....and she takes it everywhere. I agree....I don't know how these F.P. Connoisseurs do it .. they have 50-200 pens ...and i wonder, how the heck , do they use them all...LOL 😂🤔🤪🤑 ************************************************ ************************************************ Hi and Good Morning !! I am new to this fun relaxing (Hoarding practice) of collecting fountain pens. Your video just popped up on my feed...and I love hearing about other peoples , fountain pen journeys. #1 .. *WHEN or HOW DID YOUR FOUNTAIN PEN JOURNEY Begin ?* I had a super expensive fountain pen , but it got missing (5 finger digit discount is my guess)..i did the ballpoint , then the gel pens...but I started collecting fountain pens, recently , back in Jan 2024 (2 months ago 🤩👍) I started out with Dip Calligraphy pens, back in the 70's...then I moved into Manuscript brand and traded that in for the Rotring art pens for decades till they went out of business...I've not been able to find a similar brand like Rotring , and have settled with affordable Chinese calligraphy fountain pens. I think my interest in fountain pens started , when I was little and witnessed my mom writing at the kitchen table , making lists of things to do, shopping lists , etc. She used a fountain pen, and wouldn't let me play with it. #2 .. *FAVORITE iNKs IN THE BEGINNING ?* *WHAT ARE YOUR GO-TO iNKs NOW ?* I went forward into _budget inks_ ...I started with BLACK iNKs __Parker Quink ink_ , for it's availability and affordability. $10 a bottle. I love black inks and soon got hooked on "Amazon" ink purchases.. $$$$ _Platinum carbon inks_ ,for its water proof and permanence ..but I am aiming at More colored inks. Since discovering fountain pen community and their youtube channels...I am exploring more earthly colors, like Diamine Green-black and Diamine Writers blood..I am looking for brownish & gold inks now. #3 .. *HOW HAVE YOUR PEN / iNK TASTES CHANGED OVER TIME ?* I started with the budget pens. cause I am knew to fountain pens and have no clue, what i like or dislike with all the options, on the market ...So I followed the examples and video demo's from veteran fountain pen users. *_Kakuno_* ($17 cad ) _Amazon basics_ ($15 cad ) and _Parker pens_ ($20 cad ) but now, I am aiming for more clear barrel (demonstrator body) pens , that hold a good amount of ink...I like seeing my ink levels diminish ,as I write with my fountain pen. I don't know why, i am not attracted to the fancy barreled deco fountain pens, like my friends are... I love my Kakuno fine ($20cad) and medium fountain pens ($17 cad), and use these the most. The 'stinky' ($35cad) Noodlers flex nib, (I need to practice with this nib) couple of Lamy fountain pens / (Safari med $45cad) / (vista fine $40cad) ~ my partner loves her lamy vista ($58 cad) a *Twisbi~Go* fountain pen (great ink reservoir) ($10 cad) a Few of the *Jinhao fountain pens* (great prices and surprisingly good writers) ($15 cad ) *Amazon basics fountain pen* (budget but not my fav, due to the hevy weight) ($24 cad ) *Parker Vector fountain pen* (feels like a pencil sized pen) ($25 cad) Staples office, *General supply fountain pen* (looks good, a bit on the heavy side, too small of an ink cartridge) ($45 cad) A set of *Platinum Preppy colored fountain pens* (fun colors to scribe with) ($11 cad) A bunch of *Pilot varsity disposable fountain pens* (for gifting to family/friends) ($50 cad) Asvine V126 and (over $100 cad) a Bunch of *Calligraphy dip pens and calligraphy broad nib fountain pens* (my bujo work horses on titling entries and making Language lessons with.) #4 .. *ARE THERE PENS & iNKs THAT YOU HAVE NOT YET TRIED?..But would like to ?* I started with fountain pens under $25 cad...but now I am changing it to the budget pens $10- $70cad. Eventually I will look into affordable gold nib pens, after a year of playing around and having ink fun. #5 .. *WHAT IS YOUR HOLY GRAIL PEN?* I don't believe in a Holy Grail pen✒🏆🖋, cause it would end my fun collection..lol. 😎👍 #6 .. *HOW MANY PENS, DO YOU OWN?* in 2 months (since jan 2024) I have purchased 16 budget fountain pens & 6 disposable fountain pens & 17 calligraphy pens. I am just getting started..lol #7 .. *DO YOU HAVE A LIMIT ON PENs/iNKs FOR YOUR COLLECTION?* *Is it a feeling ? When do you know, you have reached your Maximum ?* No limit for now...I am guessing , when I fill up my fountain pen case of 50 pens, i've reached a good level, and will I stop ?? I don't know. I have over 200 gel & ballpoint pens...so who truly knows what My limit is with fountain pens...LOL I am a bit of a hoarder and collector..lol #8 .. *CONSEQUENTLY, WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF ANOTHER PEN/iNK CAME ALONG?* Depends on the pen, and the ink and it's price.. LOL 😂 🤣 I like to explore new pens and inks...if it fits my collection, i will take it and hoard it away..LOL ********************************************** I love all your answers...

Whoa! How differently they show up on Rhodia! I was so surprised to see the colors there. The weathered papyrus shows so much more pink than I’ve ever seen from it. And the Ash shows none of the chromoshading. The everlasting inks were a miss for me, so I’m interested to see what you make of them. So awesome! Thank you so much for sharing! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋
@thecloudydesk5 ай бұрын
I maybe put too much ink down for some, which could explain the Ash's lack of chromoshading. But also Rhodia paper definitely takes out many of the fun aspects of a lot of inks. Once I finish this pad I may be done with Rhodia...

Fantastic video! I love seeing your writing samples and hearing about how you find the grinds. The Speerpoint that I got, I asked for a larger point. Needlepoint is not my thing, and he made mine an EF. I love the SIG nibs from Franklin-Christoph. They are such a forgiving grind. And I also check all my pens for reverse writing just for some line variation and use on crappy paper. My medium CSI from Mark Bacas is one of the most beautiful writers I have. And the reverse architects I have are also my favorites! Thank you so much for sharing! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋

Such a great video! The journaler's nib is definitely on my wishlist; and you've definitely got me thinking more about the reverse architect for that sort of two-in-one header-and-body option! I've gotten a hybrid architect with a reverse ultra extra fine (originally a Sailor Zoom Nib) by Mark Bacas. Also, Medium into an Architect RT by the Nib Tailor. I think I may have preferred it the reverse manner- fine side being the normal side and the reverse side the architect. I'd like to try a Fine Architect, as I prefer finer Nibs, what may be a disadvantage is the finer the nib the less contrast or line variation between the horizontal and vertical strokes. So there's that:)
@thecloudydesk5 ай бұрын
Yeah I had the LAMY cursive nib which I know is similar to an architect and I didn't love it. Having it on the reverse is much more enjoyable for me.
